It's time to head back on the battleground again. Having trained countless hours, I felt powerful.
(Narrator POV)
All the Frontier Corps members looked at him with a slight fear in their eyes. It was not that he has powers. They could all accept that. It was not that he was a villain. In fact, he has helped every member in work and in their personal life. No. It was his overbearing aura. Whenever they were in the same room, there was a menacing aura emitting from him. The ability to kill all in a split second. When he turned into his Archangel form, there was this look in his eyes. Void of all emotions. A death glare. One look could kill you, this was not an exaggeration.
(Ares POV)
The next location was very far. It was a location near Alliance Force territory. My brother told me not to use my powers, as that might make us a potential threat to the AF if we are spotted. Acres Park. I remember going there when I was young. Yes, Acres Hills was where I lived, quite close to Yvon City Central, otherwise known as GroundZero.
We got onto the armoured truck and got going. It was an hour long journey, plus I spent last night doing homework, and I was fucking tired. (I was so tired, I had to curse. Don't judge) Thus, I slept on the way.
I was falling. I was falling off a building. Oh no. Oh god no. The person on the building, who I presumed pushed me off, was… me? No, that was the evil version of me. My inner demons. I hit the ground, coughed blood. "So, you are still alive huh?" He cackled. "What do you want from me?"
"To accept that I am you. You cannot run from me."
He offered me his hand.
I woke up and we had arrived. A place of memories and utter trauma. As soon as I saw the statue, the one that I would visit when I was down, hot tears flowed out. Ascile, one of the Frontier Corps members, asked if I was fine. She is beautiful. She was the caregiver, cheerleader, and defender of the team. She would work with Jhin to ensure the safety of all, thus they are the Dual Guardians.
"I am fine." I muttered. "It's okay, Ares." Ascile said with such warmth. She hugged me and I planted my face on her neck and tears burst out. I let out an inaudible scream. After a minute, I calmed myself down. I looked up to her face. Was she blushing? She looked away before I could guarantee.
The park was empty, eerie, and grim. I thought there was a filter of grey and faded cyan. Cloudy and blue. "Something is coming, I feel it." I told the team.
I could feel the presence of Wisps, or their energy. It is weak. No, wait, it is strong. It is concealing its power to keep out of radar.
He was gone from my radar.
Out of seemingly nowhere, there was blinding light. Lightning. The Wisp showed itself, looked normal. I balled my fists, readied my punch. "You could sense me from a kilometer away. I am impressed." It talked. It talked… it talked?! "Wha… Did you just… talk?"
"Your first time seeing me? Hah, this will be a piece of cake. Amateurs. I will wipe you out now, any last words?" The Wisp smirked. Tch! Did this guy just call us amateurs? I was annoyed. "5… 4… 3… 2… 1. Times up! Say goodbye." He readied a ball of flame and released it.
I concentrated my powers away from my right hand, and imagine my right hand becoming a black hole of power. I held out my right hand and absorbed the full blow. It was nothing.
"Eh? What just happened?"
I was looking down at my feet. My fists were clenched.
"How dare you attack us, when you are so weak."
(Ares POV)
I took the hand of my inner demon. I had to face it. "Thank you, Ares. Now accept this gift from me..."
(Narrator POV)
Ares looked up, his face void of all emotions. His eyes were an abyss that could swallow you whole and burn your soul. He uttered one word, "Die, you little shit.". The aura that emitted from him overwhelmed the Wisp and the Wisp burned from his core out.
