Chapter 3 - apprenticeship

We sign up for the universe tournament that takes place 6 months from now. This is all the time we have to grow strong enough to claim a spot of blood university. We looked around and found jobs to work on when not honing our skills. She went to another village to study under an alchemy master, and I went to the mountain top to train as a blacksmith's apprentice. We say our goodbyes before heading to our own adventures. It took one full day to reach the top of the mountain where I met fang and dusk the county blacksmith and healer of Azura Lotus. They agree to let me apprentice under them if I can kill a rogue yeti that has been raiding nearby mines. I crack a wintry smile as I accept the contract and walk down to the mines when I hear a blood-curdling scream of a man and I run towards the sound fearing that a life is being lost. As I'm running, I see a blurry figure pull something apart, then the screaming stops and this four foot and a half yeti rushes by me, dragging the torn apart man in both hands. I spin around and chase after the young yeti, hoping that its soul shard was more potent than the wargs and, I greedily rush it with my sword only to slip and cut the yetis leg instead of piercing its back like I intended. The yeti and I fall into the snow, struggling to stand and move. The yeti takes off again and I fall, behind only stuck with a faint blood trail leading me to a cave hidden behind a snowdrift.

I enter the cave slowly when my war-torn sends me an into a unique skill called shadow stalk and I slink into the shadows waiting for an opening when I see the yeti walk out with 2 younger yetis when the thought comes to me that the yeti is killing just to feed its siblings and itself. Face the impossible choice of killing the innocent yetis or walk away and pretend I couldn't find them, but the hunger for revenge and power slowly started taking over and n icy glint surfaced in my eyes as I drew close to the oldest yeti As the yeti turns to his brothers, I slit his throat and spill his blood on his siblings before gutting both of his siblings. I lay in the snow panting, covered in blood. I store the corpses into my storage ring and bury the bodies before heading back to fang's house before taking out the corpses out and rips their souls shards out before returning to my new room and start cultivating with a cheap technique every war-torn has installed eat the shard and absorb part power and stores the rest.

My sword shudders and rust falls off, and the edge becomes sharper and thinner and my body plays another memory shard of the yetis and their abilities and a new skill registered into my liberty gem. Snow adaptivity(low) and I snapped open my eyes and looked at the effects of snow adaptivity (mobility and resistance increased to 10% in snow) and I realized I can slowly devour corpses to gain skills and power. I start my cultivation and circulating my power as I sleep. I wake up in the morning to fang dropping a hammer on my gut telling me "wake up sunshine! We got to forge sometime." As I hop out of bed, stretching as the power circulates through my body and my bones snap. I feel refreshed and roaring with energy as I put on my cloak and put my sword on my back and follow. He took the bones out of the yetis and looked at me and told me, "this will be your practice material till you have forged a set of hammers with that bone and this dark iron." I slowly heated the bone and shaped it with my soul energy till I had a solid hilt, but after I stopped shaping it, the bone shattered and turned to dust. I stayed there for 3 days and nights till I finally dropped, exhausted with a pair of hilts for the hammers.
