As I stare at the hilts on the anvil, a sense of pride rises in me I have never felt. The black bone handles glistened by the light of the soul fire with a greedy hunger aura around the hilts when fang and dusk walked in. They stand me up and bring me to the table worried on their faces asking "are you okay? You look exhausted and pale." as I look and point at the hilts on the table "I did it I forged my hunger and greed for power and revenge into my blacksmithing with the Yeti bones." a smile on my face as I pass out because of exhaustion and blood loss.
A week later I wake up feeling refreshed to a glass of water and yeti stew next to my bed with dusk sitting next to me and I turn and ask, "how long have I been out?" she replies "you have been asleep for a week and the old man hasn't stopped talking about your blood forged hilts. Please tell him what was on your mind when you forged the hilts?". I stare at her with a dumb look on my face and I say "I do not know how I did it I was just doing it and my blood boiled and smoke flowed from my hands dying the bone black and then you all came in and it all stopped but there they were black with the ominous aura around them. I'm sorry." and fang came in after listening and sat down next to me with my hilts in his hands and 2 hammers made of abyssal steel and said "the work you have done on the hilts is too good to put a weak metal on I forged this abyssal steel heads for the hammers and I can teach you the basics of forging so you can build your foundation up and be the first sage blacksmith in a thousand years." with tears in my eyes I accepted the abyssal steel hammers and they felt like an extension of my arms.
As I crawl out of bed and drink the water and down the stew, fang takes me into the shop and starts making me memorize the metals of the new world. When magic awoke from its slumber, I infused it into the world itself. I slowly study each metal and its uses and what temperatures are used to melt and forge the metal into a weapon or armor. From plain iron to star jewels and dragons scales, 3 months goes by in a flash. My armor forged and enhanced my sword to a D-rank weapon using dark iron. I set out on my own for a month of mining and hunting, so I can slowly gather the soul shards needed to break through to D-rank and make it into the Blood University. I go back to the cave I discovered and I sit down and take out the soul gathering pill and I take it and close my eyes as I feel the remnants of the souls from the dead people and animals from the yetis kills and for 3 weeks I don't move as a dark mist hangs over the cavern as the mist suddenly converges into a single drop of liquid in my liberty gem finally pushed my soul sea into the mid-level of D-rank. I open my eyes and I feel newfound power flow through my body and I slash at the cave wall and a large gash appears in the wall. This is power I can use to slay magical beasts. I stand up and pack my bags, including a bag of ruined spikes my master gave me before I left the house and use them when all seems lost and you're trapped against a wall. Stick them in a triangular form and a barrier will appear. There are 2 sets, one for hiding and one for defense. If you use them, they should be able to stop rank B attacks for a couple of hours
I step out of the cave and search for the nearest life-form to test my skill and blade against. After one day of searching I find a pack ice wyverns I find one that is away from the pack and I activate shadow stalk and approach from behind and stab my blade into its neck killing it in one stab as it falls I put it in my ring and go to leave when a B-rank ice dragon sees the wyvern fall and rushes me as I get into my stance a figure wearing white armor and a spear stabs the dragon into the ground and turns to me and says "what is a puny D-rank war-torn Doing in a B-rank territory ruled by dragons the highest earth life-form?"
I stutter to reply, "what rank are you?"
