Mia and Lucell set sail along the course of the lost campaign. "Do you think we will really have to fight it?" Mia turned to ask Lucell.
"I believe that is very likely Miss Mia." Lucell responded. "Though I find it strange that dragons exist. The Goddess never mentioned creating them."
"I can answer that." Mia heard the wind elemental inside her head. "Dragons were not created by the Goddess. They are beings that we lesser elementals infuse with our power, for entertainment purposes."
"Wait what?!" Mia shouted to herself, being the only one that could hear the elemental.
"Yes, The Goddess…" Lucell began to respond.
"Not now Lucy! The wind elemental is talking to me." Mia cut Lucell off. "So does that make me a dragon since you infused me with your power?" She asked the elemental.
"No, you are something else all together." The elemental responded. "Dragons occur when we bestow our power upon an animal. You are a human, and a very special one at that."
"Oh that's a relief." Mia sighed. "So if there's a water dragon near here that would mean the water elemental is around here as well, correct?"
"Oh yes." The elemental responded. "No doubt they will derive great joy from your combat with their beast. Since it is infused with the water elementals power, it should be quite the battle."
"We are coming up to the island!" The captain shouted. "We should start to see wreckage as we approach." The coast was scattered with the remains of ships. In the distance loud roars could be heard. "Looks like the dragon is here. If you want to search the island for our man, you're going to have to go through that dragon."
"Lucy this is going to be an intense battle." Mia told Lucell. "If anything happens to me, I want you to know that I…"
"Enough of that talk, Miss Mia." Lucell cut her off. "We shall overcome any foe. I am sure of it." Lucell and Mia depart the ship and make their way onto the island. Dense vegetation was covering the landscape. They made their way through the jungle, heading towards the sound of the roars. Finally they reached a clearing where they could see the massive dragon. It appeared to be in combat with someone. Mia and Lucell watched on as the person fought valiantly against the great beast. Parrying the attacks from its claws, dodging the water breath. They could tell that he had been in combat for some time. His clothes were completely in tatters and he was covered in cuts and bruises. They were amazed that he was still able to fight considering the shape he was in. "That must be him." Lucell said to Mia. "He must have been fighting the dragon this whole time. Incredible for a human."
"We have to save him!" Mia shouted as she charged into the fray. "Dragon your battle is with me now!" She shouted as she leaped into the air and flew towards the dragon. In her hand she formed an orb of wind and launched it at the dragon knocking it back several meters. Not letting her moment go to waste she unleashed an onslaught of wind blasts against the dragon to try and maintain her advantage. The dragon roared so loud it shook the very earth and raised a wall of water to block Mia's attacks.
The dragon then set its sights on Mia and charged towards her. Mia dodged the dragons charge and launched a few more attacks at it while it passed. Angry the dragon turned and prepared to use its breath attack. "Dodge that young lady!" The man on the ground shouted. "it's a scalding hot beam of water that is highly pressurized. I have seen it smash through rocks and cut down trees." Mia prepared herself to dodge the attack. The dragon released his attack and Mia attempted to dodge; however it grazed her side, cutting her and ripping her clothing.
"Mia!" Lucell yelled as he witnessed her get injured from the ground. A rage swelled up inside of Lucell at the sight of Mia being hurt. He had never felt this way before and he could feel himself changing deep within. "You damn dragon!" Lucell roared as he transformed into a huge beast himself. He had never grown so large before and even sprouted wings. He immediately flew up to the dragon's location and tackled it. He was around the same size of the dragon now and they were locked in a brutal tug of war. Lucell pummeled the dragon with all he had, smashing the scales right off of its body.
Meanwhile Mia was preparing her next attack. She was focusing all of her wind magic into a single orb. It was massive in scale and filled the sky above her. Slowly it began to shrink until it became an incredibly dense ball about the size of a marble. "Lucell get away from him!" Mia shouted trying to get a clear shot. Lucell did exactly that and Mia launched her attack. It moved faster than the eye could see and pierced the dragon's heart. The dragon defeated, then fell to the ground. Mia grabbed her side that was gushing blood and used her magic to seal the wound. She landed on the ground next to the dragon.
Lucell seeing that battle was over quickly landed and reverted back to his old self. His clothes had been completely destroyed by his transformation. Nevertheless he ran to Mia as fast as he could to see if he could be of any assistance. "Mia are you alright?!" He shouted as he ran towards her.
"I will be fine." Mia tried to smile to ease Lucell's worrying. "We need to take care of our mission now."
"Right. Apologies, Miss Mia." Lucell said. "You there sir, are you the King of the Ocean Kingdom's spouse?"
"Aye. I am he." The man said. "I fought that dragon for it feels like a lifetime and you two took it out in mere moments. Just who are you two?"
"We were sent by your husband to find you." Mia said now visibly panting. "We came to…" Mia collapses before she can finish her sentence.
"Mia!" Lucell rushes over to her and picks her up in his arms. "You'll be ok, you probably just lost a little too much blood. Rest up." Lucell then turned to the King's spouse. "We are leaving, come let us go to the ship."
They made their way back to the ship. The captain was beside himself with joy when he learned they had defeated the dragon and had saved Ben. "What of the lass?" He asked Lucell who was still carrying an unconscious Mia in his arms. "Well she appeared to be alive, put her in a bed so she can recover. Also there's clothes down there as well. Should fit the both of you. Can't have you running around naked can we?"
"Thank you." Both Ben and Lucell said as they headed down for clothing.
"I can't believe they defeated a water dragon." The captain said with a smile. "His majesty is going to be quite pleased. Quite pleased indeed."
Upon arrival back at the Ocean Kingdom. Mia has regained consciousness and noticed she had been bandaged up. Lucell was next to her bed, he had dozed off for a moment. "Lucy!" Mia shouted to wake him up. He stirred from his slumber and was delighted to find Mia's face looking back at him. "I take it we are back at port?" She asked.
"Yes, Miss Mia." Lucell answered. "I am glad to see you are well."
Mia looked Lucell over and noticed he had new attire. "Those look nice on you." She said with a smile. "You look like a sailor. Where's my armor? I can't really walk around in bandages."
Ben opened the door to the room. "Oh look who is a awake!" He shouted. "You know lass I have never seen anyone that can defeat a dragon. Thank you for saving me!" He said as he bowed. "Now let's go!" He said as he tossed Mia a dress. "I can't wait to see my husband again! It feels like a lifetime since I saw him last."
With that Mia put on her new dress and the three of them departed to have an audience with the King.
