Chapter 29 - Part 7 - Aftermath

Hanzo and I were looking around the area because Juwan lost his sling bag as he was dragged by Ittan-Momen.

"Crap, my dorm keys were there," He dropped on the grass and lied down, looking at the night sky. He took a deep sigh.

We decided to join him there.

"Guys, I think I might have to stay in your place until my roommate gets back," Juwan says, still staring at the sky.

"It's fine," I replied. "You can sleep on the couch."

"Thanks, guys," Juwan took a deep breath. "Luckily, I kept a lot of clothes in my duffel bag."

We laughed. Juwan sat down. He looks at me "So, this is your job, huh?"

"Yeah, part of it," I replied.

"At that moment earlier, my fears suddenly disappeared when I saw you guys were in trouble, and when I drove that thing away and saved you guys, it felt…. good. It felt good that I was not scared, that I can be powerful. That rarely happens to me. Because of that, I want to throw all the unnecessary fears and face them."

I smiled at that thought of his. "Why don't you join me in my job? There are a lot of ghosts that need help in the hotel and I can't help them all."

"Gh-ghost?" Aaaand he's back. I sensed fear in his tone. He then shakes his head. He looked determined. "Okay, I'll join you."

Hanzo pats him in the shoulder. "Hey, Juwan."

Juwan looks at Hanzo. Hanzo's face was covered by his phone with a gory scene. Probably the horror anime he told me about.

Juwan screams, and Hanzo and I laughed.

"THIS ISN'T FUNNY! THIS ISN'T HELPING ME AT ALL!"

We were laughing non-stop, then Juwan decided to join us.

"Hanzo, by the way," I said. "The hotel is looking for a chef. Want to join the staff of the hotel?"

"Huh?" Hanzo says, "A chef for a hotel for ghosts?"

"Yeah, that's weird." Juwan joined in.

"Well, ghosts in the hotel are not required to eat, but they want to eat, though there is no chef there right now."

"Hmmm," Hanzo places a finger in his chin. "Okay!"

Juwan places his arms around our shoulders. We have a really weird friendship. First, we got attacked by a Yokai, and now, we're working at the same place, but for ghosts."

We laughed. "Yeah," I said.

"Speaking of," Hanzo says. "We should go now. That thing might come back for revenge."

Juwan was the first to go up and walk quickly. "Yes you are right we should go now." He said those quickly too.

Hanzo and I looked at each other, smiling, a hand behind our head.
