[JUWAN POV]
I nod. The screaming grew louder. I observed the area. The Ittan-Momen was there with its victim.
I think of my motivation and threw away all of my fears. I took a deep breath," I'm going in."
"Okay," Kazu replies.
I got into the area and screamed, "Hey!"
Ittan-Momen gave its attention to me. It gave me a menacing look and laughed with malicious intent.
Out of nowhere, a yellow paper flew from the sky and hit Ittan-Momen, causing it to drop the victim. "Wha-"
"I threw a yellow talisman so you could save the man," Kazu said. "Now save him!"
I sprint across the field and helped the man get up. "Sir, are you okay?"
The man nods. He was trembling in fear. Signs of fear is also visible in his face.
"Okay sir, can you run or move?" Juwan asks the man. He nods again. "Sir, I want you to run away from this place. Also, please don't tell anyone about your encounter with us and the thing that dragged you. Do you understand?"
The guy just kept nodding. "Go!"
The man ran quickly, away from the scene.
"Alright, you little sh-" As I turn around, Ittan-Momen charged towards me. I let out a small scream and covered my face with my arms.
I was expecting to get strangled, but all I heard was a soft thud. I peek to see that a dome barrier was covering me, and Ittan-Momen tried to charge through it.
"Phew," Kazu sighed in relief. "Luckily, I was fast enough to stop it."
I also sighed in relief. "Thanks, man. You saved my butt."
"No problem," He replied. "Alright. The Yokai still has not seen me up here. If I keep attacking it, it will spot me and go towards me, and I'm doomed if that happens because you can't save me in time that happens."
I agreed with him. "Alright, that's fair. "
The Ittan-Momen doesn't seem to be attacking the barrier. It just floats there, looking at me menacingly with both eyes. It's creepy that this roll of cotton has eyes and arms.
"Okay," Kazu says. "The barrier is about to wear off. Just like last time, prepare to dodge."
I nod. I prepared myself to dodge. I squat like I'm sitting on a chair and pulled my hands backward. With the blink of an eye, the barrier disappeared.
As soon as that happened, I did a double back handspring and one backflip, and for some reason, I raised a V motion when I landed.
"Uhh, was that pose necessary?" Kazu asked.
I fixed the earpiece in my ear. "Sorry, force of habit."
Ittan-Momen lands flat on the grassy fields. I pulled out my pouch of salt and threw a bunch. Unfortunately, it immediately recovered and dodged the attack. From its position, Ittan-Momen stretches its end and strikes towards me. I jumped and rolled to my left.
"Holy crap," I exclaimed. "I didn't know that thing can stretch itself to be longer!"
Ittan-Momen then tore its ends and its ends are now in four strips. It extends towards me. I did another double handspring and a dive and roll to the left. The thing was following me! Its ends tried to grab me in the joint of my feet and legs and my arms.
Kazu, from the rooftop, attacks it with a yellow talisman. Ittan-Momen became weak and unconscious, but its ends kept chasing me.
"What the hell?!" I exclaimed. "Its ends have some kind of mind of its own!"
It recovered faster, but using talismans was useless since its entire body is not affected by the talisman. I kept running and dodging all I can. All of those stunts that I use in cheerleading is beneficial, especially in this situation. "Kazu, I'm almost running out of breath, what do you suggest we do?"
"Uhhh," He muttered. "What to do, what to do… Aha!"
"Okay, what is it?"
"Ittan-Momen is a cloth, and it can extend further, so maybe, try to knot itself so it will shrink until its unable to stretch anymore."
"How will I do that?" I looked at Ittan-Momen, and it's not stopping.
"Run around and make it chase you. You guide it so it could knot itself."
"Okay," I analyzed how to knot it.
Once I figured it out, I stopped my pattern of dodging to my left or right and just charged forward, I ran past Ittan-Momen and turned around to run on its other side. I then jumped, avoiding its body that was stretched because of chasing me. I then rolled down, avoiding the circle its body made from chasing me. After that, I ran away from it, then it did one knot.
Figuring out the way to knot him, I did the same pattern with different methods over and over again until no more is left of its body. It was extremely exhausting, but I got it to fully knot itself.
"I-" I catch my breath for a second. "I- I did it!" I wiped the sweat from my forehead.
"Good job Juwan!" Kazu was cheerful. "Okay, now salt it."
I nod and grabbed a bunch from my pouch and threw it to Ittan-Momen. The Yokai burned and sizzled, bubbles forming in its surface, letting out screams of agony.
"Jeez, I didn't know this would happen," I said. It was pretty scary.
From the rooftop, Kazu threw a paper doll and it sticks on Ittan-Momen. The Yokai slowly turned into a small red ribbon and tied itself to the paper doll.
"Yes!" I saw Kazu jump in excitement. "It accepted the seal!"
"Yeah-" I'm still trying to catch my breath. It was a non-stop event. Also, my muscles are a little sore. I collapsed in the grass and lied in my back. "Let me just take a break."
