2 weeks later
At the end of the 2 week period, everyone had changed quite a lot. With the intensive training, plus some pretty heavy eating, we'd all put on a fair amount of muscle.
The person with the most noticeable changes though, was Sandra. She'd lost some pounds in a few places and gained muscles in others, becoming the ideal fantasy girl of the other guys. Mariam had her own share of gains, but nothing as drastic as Sandra. You could easily see them trying cozy up to her, but although she remained friendly to Abdul, and had thawed towards Toyin, she always made sure to never go past a certain line, focusing more on her training.
We were all in the living room having a meeting I'd called for. As the impromptu leader of this group, I took it upon myself to coordinate our movements and plan our activities.
"After 2 weeks of intense training, I've decided its time for us to go out and do some live practice, Any Objections?" I asked
No one seemed to have problems with this, They'd all put a lot of effort into their trainings and we're ready to test it out on the field.
"If you guys are in agreement then I've come up with a Team plan for us"
"There will be 3 people in a single team, 2 vanguards and 1 support/ranged fighter."
"The two vanguards will work together to attack and wear down the enemies and the support will act as backup in the case of an emergency."
"I'll be going on a mission in a few hours, Who wants to join me?"
Toyin and Mariam Raised their hands first with Sandra coming in third and Abdul keeping his hand down.
"OK then, this'll be our team build. Mariam and I will be the Vanguards, Toyin your job is to either slow the enemies down, or just block unpredicted strikes."
"Yup no problem" he replied
"Mariam, You and I are going to be doing the main fighting, are you up for this?"
Giving me a mischievous and sexy smile she replied "Yeah coach, This is what you've been training is for isn't it?".
Looking at her, I felt a familiar stirring In my pants. This girl really knew how to turn me on. We'd restarted our friends with benefits relationship a few days ago, and now we spent the nights entangled within each other. I hoped the others wouldn't find out, but i knew my place was only so big.
"Maybe it's time we got separate rooms" I thought.
We'd opened most of the rooms in this lodge, and aside from us and that Bastard David there was only a single other live occupant. Some of them had turned into Eaters in their room, although they were barely able to move when we'd opened the door. Seemed like even Eaters needed food to stay active.
The other person has decided to leave the lodge and try to get to his family house in Bosso even after we'd offered him stay at our place. I wasn't sure if he could make it but I respected his decision.
Strapping up, i left my thoughts and focused on the task ahead of me.
I wrapped my bare arms and chest first in a thick cloth, before putting on a thin shirt and then a thick jacket. I was protected both from the cold of the rainy season that had started a few days ago and somewhat from the bites and scratches of the Eaters.
Looking around I saw that my party members were ready to leave too so I went over the Mission one last time.
"Our target is the store that's a 15 minute walk from here. Our priority is Food, drugs and tools first, if all these things are secure, you are free to take something useful for personal usage, but keep it light so it doesn't slow you down."
"Also keep an eye out for any vehicles we can claim for ourselves, it has to be fast, strong and have a good carrying capacity."
"Lastly use words as little as possible, try using your hand signs, to avoid alerting the eaters."
"Lastly, there is no one you should trust apart from your teammates, everyone else is a potential source of danger so stay vigilant."
With a nod to indicate they understood, we set off, leaving Sarah and Abdul home.
We were in an inverted arrow formation, Mariam and I were on the left and right, And Toyin was in the middle a few steps behind us.
4 minutes later, we found our first target. Nodding to Mariam, we decided to attack it. I whistled to get its attention, and got it running towards us, When it got to a certain range we started moving towards it too, Then Abdul created a small barrier, only around the level of its shin, Making it stumble and fall.
Using this chance Mariam and I attacked. She pierced it from the back, and held it down while I smashed it's head in.
This was the tactic we'd decided to use. Since we weren't all that used to cooperating with each other, we took a safe option.
"Phew" she exhaled
Asking if she was OK with my Eyes, she nodded to show she was fine, so we kept moving.
We were moving forward when we saw our next enemies. This time there were 4 zombies, and one of them was very bulky. We couldn't avoid them because they were in the middle of the road so we were a bit nervous as we hadn't faced a group of them before.
"I'll take the lead on this one you guys, Toyin focus your attention on attacking with Mariam, you guys will take care of two together, I'll handle the other 2 myself."
With my power, I'd be able to handle the two no problem.
Holding my Bat, I waited till they got closer, then attacking the one at the with my upwards swing, I took off the head completely. I was a bit surprised before I remembered I was a different person now, almost incomparable to 3 weeks ago.
With their numbers down to 3 I took the attention of the more bulky one and led him away from the rest, I kept provoking it by hitting it's back and knees to get its attention while using 25 percent of power.
On the other side, Toyin and Mariam were handling themselves well....
