Chapter 66 - Shipwrecked

"Five Elements Finger- Fire!"

A raging torrent of flames engulfed the Hydra's heads with a big roar. And that was how it ended. Feng flew towards the Hydra's carcass and waved his hand in the air.

"Daemonic Deity Technique- Formless Hands!"

A gust of wind brushed against the floating carcass and brought six crystals up into Feng's palm. He couldn't help but sigh, Damon's technique was miraculous, whenever he needed something that could help in his exploits, the thought of the skill would appear in his head. That was what happened just now with the Formless Hands.

Lin Feng looked at the crystals with obvious curiosity, normal beasts only have one core, maybe this was different for Desolate Beasts? These were his thoughts as he looked at the crystals but Damon quickly cleared his suspicions.

[Those are Element Crystals that are found in beasts with multiple elemental abilities, though there is only a fifty percent chance that the elements will form a crystal, with a hydra there is never a fifty percent chance of that. They are born with six elements, Fire, Poison, Water, Lightning, Ice and the most lethal of them all, Void. Though they can be variations in the elements of Hydra's these are the most commonly seen among the otherwise rare creatures. In your case, it is best to absorb the Lightning and the Void element crystal. The other elements might not only not help you, they even have a chance of crippling your cultivation.]

'Why should I take the Void element crystal?'

[Eh, That?, just take it, it will be very helpful to the cultivation of my Daemonic Deity Technique and slightly beneficial to your bloodline and demon mark.]

Feng shrugged mentally and kept the two crystals in his space crystal. He looked at the other four crystals and wondered what to do with them. He swept his third eye over the ship and assessed the elemental affinities of those close to him (friends and companions). Call it favouritism if you might, he didn't care, where they were going they would need a progression of their magical abilities, and right now the majority of them were at the Jade Realm, with the exception of May (he still doesn't know May's Realm)

"Hmm, yo, Zhifang what element do you cultivate?" He transmitted his voice to Shanren Zhifang's head and waited for a response.

"Gold and Wine,"

Zhifang transmitted back weakly. He still hadn't gotten over the fight with the Giant Hydra. Feng shook his head in disappointment, he did this to the rest and to his dismay he found only two people who could use the elemental crystals.

May cultivated the water element, not so surprising considering how flexible her sword was, using soft tactics to defend against hard tactics, one of the water element's greatest strength. She received the water element crystal with a frowning look.

"Blegh, isn't there anything better than this sparse element crystal?"

"Gahh, stop being such a brat, plebs like us can never afford these 'sparse element crystals'!"

Tennyson took the Fire crystal, though it didn't explicitly suit his element. It was good for someone like him who cultivated the Destruction (and the Shadow Element too). After all, a fire was a creator as well as a destroyer.

And as for the remaining crystals, Feng stowed them away in his space crystal, deciding that he would sell them when he accomplished what he wanted to do in the Wasteland Continent.

Just as Feng descended back onto the ship and dispelled the effects of the Daemonic Deity Technique, the last calamity struck. The calamities that they encountered were of three parts. First the beast tide, it was the smallest calamity, then the Boss Level Beast, and then the last calamity; it was the largest of them all. The last calamity, a Desolate level Storm.

Lightning struck the ship and like a sword cutting through a human body, sliced the metal ship into two. Lightning struck the area around the ship fiercely, stirring the slumbering sea. It was total chaos.

"Jump!"

"Wait, what about the injured passengers?"

"Forget about them! If they have enough luck, they will survive!"

The scar-faced ship captain yelled to one of the hesitating crew members and jumped into the sea, not caring of the consequences. But sadly, not everyone who intends to save themselves will end up saved in the first place. Pale Lightning struck him mid-air and his life was lost.

Feng however stood on one part of the split ship. His third eye had opened up again, and he muttered to himself while looking the distance.

"Hmm, closest landform is about 10,000 kilometres away and if I help us shorten the distance a bit, we'll only have about 1,000 kilometres to cover, nice!"

"Those of the Purple Midnight Mercenaries, if you don't want to die come to me!"

He sounded as though it was an obligation to come to him. May sounded offended but still went to him anyway, so did the others (including Tennyson).

He pointed into the distance. "See there, that' where I want us to meet up. Inevitably most of us will be separated in the course of this event, but if you manage to find a stable landform where you can survive, head to where I'm pointing, memorize he coordinates in your heads, after all, I wouldn't want any of you getting lost!"

His voice carried a certain weight to it, not like that friendly tone he used with them on most occasions, this one carried authority to it; he sounded like a real leader!

"Now go!"

His third eye glowed with an eerie red light, and he shot them into the edge of the storm and flew into it himself. Feng spoke to himself once again for the final time.

"If my calculations were correct, the wind pressure from the storm will shoot them outwards in different directions to the few landforms around here, and if not directly on the landforms then very close to it. And judging by probability, my island, the one everyone is gonna gather on will have one of the crew with me. Ah, though maths is a drag, together with geography, it can actually come in handy!"

And with that, he shot off in a stream of black and red light. After a while, he accustomed himself to the neck break speed and turn his neck. There he saw the other members that he shot to the edge of the storm. Like him, were engulfed in lights. Feng also looked back and with not a single shred of emotion managed to speak thanks to the mask he always wore.

"There is such a thing as kindness in life. You all wanted to kill me for my properties, I only repaid with a similar kindness of letting you die!"

His words were vicious and anyone who witnessed what happened to the captain of the ship would realize that the captain did not die due to his own bad luck. The lightning that struck him was not natural, it was all caused by him...
