The continuous blasts had made the lab unrecognisable. Papers were all over the floor, tables and chairs had been destroyed. Walls had multiple holes that were charred black, about two meters in diameter. The two robotic soldiers were advancing towards the two injured members, who lay face down on the floor, awaiting almost certain doom.
"Yeah I think this is it." said Yellow "We're gonna die"
"Your pessimistic behaviour won't save us you know!" replied Pickle. "I can't believe YOU'RE the last person I might die with!"
"Your pessimistic behaviour won't save us either." Yellow replied back. The scientists in the robotic suits were trying to resist the mechanical movements but it was no use.
"Yeah, sorry about this force-killing situation" Shaun regretted "But hey, at least it would be painless and you get to die with Pickle! I would die with Pickle any time!"
"Thanks!" Pickle smiled, "Finally someone with optimistic behaviour." Yellow rolled her eyes. Suddenly, a blue blast that didn't belong to either of the scientists had impacted Ollie's chest and made the robot suit fly across the room and breaking a chair painfully as he landed. David had then proceeded into the room as he smiled to himself smugly. Shaun's robot instinctively tried to respond but not fast enough and moments later was also shot across the room, with the scientist in it unconscious from the shock.
"David! I knew you would come." exclaimed Pickle in relief as he picked himself up from the floor.
"Sure you did. And you could've came here a bit earlier..." Yellow added.
"Sorry I was late. Where's Travis?" David questioned.
Rishi fell on the floor with a large thump, as blood was trickling down his mouth and breathed heavily. He had overestimated himself and underestimated Travis. Now, the tyrant was standing before him, as he looked down at Rishi menacingly.
"You made a big mistake trying to fight me alone" ,Travis stated, holding onto his Runian sword tightly. The rebel was crawling slowly away from Travis but he was quickly stopped when the tyrant plunged his weapon into his leg. Rishi screamed in pain and agony as he knew he was going to die. Was he really worthy of being called a hero if he got utterly destroyed at the hands of The Order? Had he really been outsmarted by Travis? Rishi screamed as he tried to slash at Travis yet he was quickly parried and disarmed as his red Runian sword skidded across the floor, too far out of his reach.
He wasn't going to give up, even though burning pain seared his left leg and crimson red blood fell across it. It couldn't end this way, he still had to battle for the freedom and liberty of humanity and for the bright future. All of his efforts and spirit were in vain if he was going to die now. He shut his eyes tightly, whether if he was going to feel a sharp blade going through his brain or an electrocuting hot beam of pure plasma.
He then felt a surge of energy going through around his body. A big bang had echoed and Rishi felt like his soul was being sucked out his body. Moments later, he fell on the floor inside a familiar dank apartment. He opened his eyes again only to find that he was back at that dodgy woman's place again. In front of him was her, stroking that creepy cat bear hybrid that looked as high on sugar as her actual owner, which was quite scary. She only said two words: "Welcome home."
Travis walked out of the maintenance room and was blinded by the light as his eyes were used to the darkness of the previous room. He limped as he held his right shoulder, the only place where Rishi managed to wound him. Travis tried to process the fact that Rishi had managed to escape via teleport at very convenient timing and he met up with the rest of the members, with Pickle and Yellow wandering about the room, seeing all the destruction and David trying to break the bonds of the robotic suit to let the scientists out.
"What happened to Rishi?" asked Pickle.
Travis paused for a few moments. "He escaped," he responded simply, "And David, where were you when all this was happening. Why didn't you shut down all the Guardsman suits?"
"To be fair, he did save our lives..." said Yellow "And extra credit for not letting Pickle be the last person I get to see in my very valuable life." Pickle responded with a frown.
"Fine fair enough." Travis crossed his arms as he still looked at David suspiciously. "But I won't give you a pay rise." David shrugged uncaringly as he still tried to pull out the scientists from the Guardsman suits.
