Chapter 1 - *Chapter 1*

'Again!,...this can't be happening'   Charles picked up his mini brief case from the table seemingly in a rush after  a look at his watch  '....late again'  Muriel was just watching him as she took a bite of her favourite Danish cookies  '....just woke up on the late side of the bed...u know'  he walked to her and kissed her forehead..  'Dad ur gonna make that your excuse anthem!.. '

'Well i don't know about that but .....I love you. He threw his leather jacket over his shoulders with a big smile before he rushed out to his McLaren and drove off

Being late was no new thing for Charles Adams. Despite being a retired governor, he had a busy office, but this wasn't the problem, his large famous winery was. He had dozens of employees but he spent alot of time checking and managing different activities and famous clients and this left him so exhausted yet he slept for about 4hrs. Nevertheless, for a man in his mid fifties, he had enough  fortune to brand him one of the most successful in columbia. He had almost everything in his midst, the rich calibre of friends, properties, and a wide variety of rides which ranged from his Aston Martin, lykan hyper sport and the koenigsegg  trevita he had bought previously, then the high kinds which graced his mansion on the lush meadows of Dakota. The pavilion was an art piece of Steve Herman a famous American architect, with a wide luxurious basement, 7 bedrooms, a golf course, a home theatre, a roof top pool, and much more. God had blessed him with a great life and a priceless daughter. she was beautiful, astonishingly beautiful....she sometimes reminded him of her mother, Mona  the only woman he had ever loved before and after she died in a tragic accident , but that was years ago.

Muriel Adams was only 20 but a beauty  with thick dark curls and a striking  resemblance   to  her mum though she possessed a little of her dad's jaw line. Her dark brown  eyes seemed to portray a sway of innocence yet she was totally a spoilt rich kid getting whatever she wanted at her own disposal. She was serious most time, a little much for her age and fortunately didn't own any bad gossip about her coz she was busy everyday handling different projects and walking in out different big offices. She was abit reserved which was something mistaken for pride and mixed up with few people, mainly work associates, and a one Daphney Turner, the only close friend in her age group. Daphney was victoria secrets model and one of  the brand endorsers for the Adam's wine collection. She sometimes managed to drag Muriel to go shopping on Thursdays, the only day she had less work. It was like her only day off from her busy modelling, commercial schedules and appointments. She went to the shed and got into her dad's new "Trevie", as she referred to it and preferred it to her own lately, she seemed to be waiting for someone 'Amor..hope I didn't keep you waiting long. Daphney bounced onto the front seat besides her, ' next time I'll make u seat in the trunk.'  they exchanged kisses on the sides as she pulled out of the parking lot. The Avenue Mall was the best for a weekday  shopping especially if you hated big crowds though it was a little  expensive but this was Muriel's basic, she didn't usually shop but when she did, she was a little extravagant. The girls had walked around all the major malls in town though this had turned out to be the most frequented . 'I want a particular denim shorts. Muriel was looking around ' you have almost all denim collection, what could be missing?' Daphney glanced at her from head to toe, from her denim cap to her half denim knee length boots 'Almost is never enough baby' Muriel narrowed her eyes looking at Daphney, she knew how to make use of her intimidating eyes.

'Ohh, oh we are having chicken and beer after this.' ,Daphney's eyes brightened with excitement, she had almost forgotten the fashion week was finished and it was the only time she got to eat some calories, Muriel jokingly  pushed her with her hip with a small yyaay as they laughed on. Daphney was her shopping buddy and always knew how to lighten the mood, they weren't so close but she was always there at the right time she needed company.' You won't believe this....Mike is finally following me on Twitter !!!'

'Yayy...Ok seriously Daph, we hav to celebrate that too??' Muriel was chewing gum as they drove along the streets  'its not easy to stick to one crush for 10 months, should i text first?'

'Nooo...have some pride, isn't he even  shorter,  i thought you prefer the taller ones?' Muriel replied

'Something to say cause all you ever crushed on is that unreal detective.. Micheal from your novels...and I repeat he's 0.7 inches taller than me,' Daphne rolled her eyes with a smile before she looked back at her phone ...it's not like she expected any dating advice from Muriel who was too caught up with designer clothes bags accessories, all the luxuries that were limited edition, not to forget, her detective novels.
