Chapter 1 - 1. Escape

Alarms were Blaring, Sirens were wailing and everything was in chaos, and in the middle of it all a tall figure rose out of where he was sitting in the center of the command center and yelled.

"Status Report!"

A short and busty reptilian Woman with slender legs, large eyes and nails that looked like claws imeadiatly replied from her station.

"The bottom deck took a direct hit, which caused a chain reaction in secondary power grid that took the engines off-line, life-support in that section is venting into space!"

The tall man who also happened to be reptilian responded by saying

"Evacuate that section and seal it off, then have a repair team fix those engines!"

"Understood."

A shorter a slightly muscular reptilian man chimed in and shouted

"Casualty report coming in, Sir Xiragon's host has been killed, but Xiragon is fine"

Everyone froze for a second knowing that the missions success now depended on what Xiragon was able to recover from it and unfortunately that was all in his head. The commanding Officer then shouted

"Are there any inhabited planets nearby?"

"One!" a tall and slim reptilian woman with long legs and a small bust imeadiatly replied "It's the third planet in this system."

"Alright, navigation plot a course" the Commanding Officer ordered "and get us there as soon as the engines come back online!"

"Understood Sir" a short and skinny reptilian man responded.

Everyone knew that if they didn't find Xiragon a new host soon the mission would end in failure. Just then the ship shook and then the short reptilian woman said

"Hull breach on deck 2, a nearby crew member is attempting to seal it"

"When are the engines coming back online, we need them now!"

"The repair team is finishing up the final repairs now sir"

"Course ready and locked in Sir" the navigater chimed in."

"Good, get us out of here as soon as the engines are back online" the Commanding officer imeadiatly replied

Just then the slightly muscular reptilian man chimed in

"Sir we are being hailed by the other ship"

"Open Channel" the Commanding officer ordered.

"Channel open"

An old reptilian man with a scar diagonally across his face appeared on one of the screens at the forward end of the command center "Commander Crossix, give up now and I might be merciful."

"Do you think I would just give up so easily Commander Kroid." the commanding officer replied.

"Of course not, but I still thought it best to ask just in case."

"We are on an important mission right now and you have just fired on us breaking-"

"Oh spare me the protocol I already know what you are going to say next, and if your mission was really that important you would be working with one of the major factions. This so-called mission your on is just so your minor faction can still cling to whatever power it has left!"

"When we return from our mission, our faction will take things straight to the Council and the rest of the Dracagonian Empire will know what you did."

"That's assuming that you make it back alive, your ship is damaged after all."

"So is yours."

"Well Commander Crossix, it appears that you have given me no choice but to-"

"Sir engines are back online" the short reptilian woman chimed in.

"Navigater, full speed!" Commander Crossix immediately ordered.

"Yes sir" the navigater gladly replied.

"Navigater, intercept course!" Commander Kroid immediately ordered. Then both commanders turned there attention back to each other.

"You will not escape from me Commander Crossix!" Commander Kroid shouted over the comm channel.

"Watch me!" Commander Crossix snapped back.

A few moments later Commander Kroid was firing on Commander Crossix's ship but not before it got in range of the planet.

"Weapon status!" Commander Crossix shouted.

"Ready!" a muscular reptilian woman replied.

"Return fire!" Commander Crossix immediately ordered.

After a few rounds of fighting both ships were badly damaged.

"Status Report" Commander Crossix shouted

"That last hit damaged our primary reactor, repair teams are doing what they can, but it might not be enough." the short reptilian woman replied.

"Have a medical team put Xiragon in a stasis device and prepare to launch in a small craft or escape capsule, whichever is more convenient for them." Commander Crossix ordered.

"Understood, lets just hope we survive this with the ship still in one piece, Sir"

"I agree Sub-Commander"

Just then, an explosion shook the ship!

"What happened?!" Commander Crossix shouted.

"The primary reactor just blew, sir" the Sub-Commander replied.

"Nothing we can do about it now, all personnel abandon ship!" Commander Crossix immediately shouted.

"Relaying orders across the entire ship sir." the slightly muscular reptilian man replied.

After the orders were relayed the crew members reluctantly began evacuating.

"Hold on a moment Navigater." Commander Crossix suddenly said.

"Sir" the navigater replied confused

"I'm going to need your help taking Commander Kroid down with us"

The Navigater suddenly caught on to what Commander Crossix was thinking.

"I'll return to my station and set a collision course." he replied

As soon as the course was inputed into the ships computer, the ship shook again and a bunch of support beams came lose blocking all the exits, Commander Crossix and the Navigater turned to look at each other.

Meanwhile the rest of the crew members where already evacuating when a wall panel blew in front of her, unfortunately the rest of the crew members were nowhere in sight so she decided to try another escape route fortunately she could turn down the corridor next to her. After a moment she saw the medical team carrying Xiragon about to depart.

"Hold on for a moment!" the Sub-Commander shouted.

One of the medical officers checked the area before closing the hatch just behind her.

"Thanks" she told them.

"Don't thank us yet, we still have to get out of here." another officer replied.

The Sub-Commander took the pilot seat and launched the small craft and as they were pulling away from the ship they saw out of the rear window the two ships collide and engulf each other in a massive ball of fire, everyone aboard was suddenly grateful for making it out when they did.

On the nearby planet, a tall and skinny human male with slightly tanned skin and dark hair wearing jeans, a cycling shirt and hiking boots stepped outside his home and was ready to face the day.
