Beep Beep Beep
The sound of the cell phone alarm woke Ralph, who opened his eyes slowly.
Looking at the time on his cell phone, Ralph sighed.
It was 8 am, and he needs to get ready to go to college.
Fighting laziness, Ralph got up and went to brush his teeth, and then started changing clothes.
He usually wears jeans with a white blouse and a black jacket.
When it is very hot, he takes off his jacket and puts it in his backpack, but the weather this morning is very cold.
After putting on tennis shoes, he went to the dining room.
"Good Morning." Ralph spoke.
"Good Morning." The mother and father responded.
Torvi was silent and just kept eating.
Ralph didn't care and started making a sandwich.
He soon noticed the juice and asked:
"Dad finally remembered to buy the fruits?"
"Hmph!" The father just snorted.
Filling his glass, Ralph noticed Torvi's gaze.
He then gave his tongue to her with a grimace as he said:
"Is there something on my face?"
"Hmph!" Torvi just snorted and looked away.
Ralph just shrugged and finished the meal.
"I'm going." Ralph said after taking the plate to the sink, and went to the garage to get the bicycle.
Seeing the cold and cloudy weather, Ralph cursed.
-But what a crazy climate!
He then started cycling, only to smell the pollution again.
Every day in the morning, there is a great flow of cars to be had. rush hour.
This contributes to the saturation of air pollution, and to noise pollution.
As he pedaled, he looked around to make sure there was no one following him.
He had no choice, since his neighborhood was not very safe, burglaries often occurred in that region.
After leaving his neighborhood, he had to cycle for another ten minutes to get to college.
'Technological University of Latin America,' said a huge sign outside.
This college is funded by almost all countries in Latin America and is recognized as one of the best universities in the world.
It offers courses in all areas, human and exact.
Ralph took a badge out of his pocket and showed it to one of the security guards, who allowed him in.
After entering college, Ralph parked the bike in a designated bicycle location and didn't even bother to chain it, since hardly anyone would enter college without being a student or employee, due to the heavy security at the entrance.
After that, he started walking towards the big block he was studying.
The university is divided into six large blocks.
If someone studies an exact course, then they would study in one of the three big blocks on the west side of the university.
If someone studies a humanities course, then they would study in one of the three big blocks on the east side of the university.
But this division is not very strict, and students usually attend classes in the other blocks as a means of adding more to the curriculum, expanding their own knowledge or because of the teacher.
There is no strict division of grades, and students need only be considered as having a high rate of achievement at the end of the course by 4/5 of the teachers.
The reason for such a system is the fact that it is already extremely difficult to enter university, so the majority who study there already have a good foundation.
Also, a grading system is considered inefficient by most students who sometimes find themselves without time to study a certain subject.
Even so, it is easier to enter the university than to complete the course, due to the criteria in the evaluation of teachers.
After walking for a while and greeting some acquaintances, Ralph arrived at the big block where he is going to study on the day.
Sometimes he studies in others depending on the class and the teacher.
Upon entering the room, Ralph realized he was the first to arrive and sat in the second row.
He then took out his cell phone, and saw some messages.
FIRST YEAR (group):
Louise-> Is anyone ahead of the optics I?
Sieg-> Me.
Louise-> Can you help me a little?
Sieg-> Today I am going to study in block C, in the optics professor's class.
Louise-> Got it.
Lucas-> I won't be able to go to university today, can someone send me the content of the professor of nuclear physics?
Ralph-> I'll send, Lucas.
Lucas-> Thanks Bro!
Without Ralph noticing, some people had already entered the room.
"Good morning, Ralph." A girl with black hair, black eyes and pale skin said as she took the seat next to Ralph.
"Good mornin, Ana." Ralph said.
Ana had smooth facial features, and a thin physique like Ralph. She is one of his few friends.
"I heard you had a lot of fun yesterday." Ana said with a strange expression.
- Damn Lucas.
Ralph didn't have to think long to find the culprit.
"hehe .." Ralph gave a bitter laugh.
"Good Morning." Sieg said as he took the seat across from Ralph.
Ana looked a little contemptuously at Sieg but also greeted.
"Hey Ana, do you know what subject Professor Jackson is going to talk about today?" Sieg didn't seem to notice Ana's strange look and asked.
"He said he was going to start a class on elementary particles, like Bosons." Ana replied.
Sieg looked a little surprised and said:
"This is strange, since this class has already been given by him."
"Maybe it's because of the 'Higgs incident'." Ralph spoke without thinking.
Sieg thought the same way and took out his cell phone to do something.
Over time, more and more students arrived, and Junior sat next to Ralph as well.
-It seems that the rest of the class does not want to attend a class whose subject has already been given.
Ralph and Ana thought.
Time is precious at the university, and many students prefer to specialize in a branch of the course they have chosen.
Therefore, many classes are left in the background.
After a few minutes, an old man, with black eyes and hair and brown skin, entered the room. He was Professor Jackson.
"Good morning, students. Today the class will be a little poorly planned but I hope you understand when you finish listening to what I have to say." The teacher said as he took a chalk and wrote something on the big board.
After a few seconds, the words "Mutation of the Higgs Boson" were written.
"Minimally informed people should know about the latest developments in the scientific world, especially the so-called Higgs Boson mutation."
"It turns out that I am one of the scientists responsible for analyzing the data from the experiment that took place at the LHC yesterday afternoon."
"I was at my house feeding the dog when I got a call from a colleague who said that something urgent had been detected and that he needed my help."
"After a few minutes, I received some data on my computer, and through cloud technology, I was able to use the processing power of the computers in the LHC lab."
"With the help of these computers, I was able to partially analyze the data received, and I can say, our knowledge about this Boson is completely obsolete."
The teacher then started writing an equation on the board that only a few students knew.
"For those who don't know, this equation was the key to the discovery of this Boson, and a derivation of it was used to predict its behavior."
"It is a somewhat old equation, but which we think has been proven in the detection of this specific Boson in 2013."
The teacher then turned to the students and sighed.
"I know I look a little out of the ordinary today, but as a lover of physics, I can't help but get excited."
"You all should know that the boson spin is 0, but ..." He then wrote the number one and the fraction 1/2.
"In the data I obtained, the bosons detected by the LHC also had spin 1 and 1/2. Even though all previous detections have detected the same spin 0."
"Since you are still a student, you may not fully understand what that means, but ..." He then paused and sat down.
"Never before has anything like this occurred with any particle, at least we have never detected anything like it. An elementary particle changes the spin itself ..."
"Couldn't that mean that other particles can do the same thing?" He then looked at the students for an answer.
The students looked at each other, and Ralph murmured to Sieg:
"The professor seems to be really flustered ..."
Sieg nodded.
Some students started to withdraw from class, but no one thought that was strange, since the time they were spending listening to a teacher who just wanted to vent could be spent with a more productive class.
Junior also left and Ralph was almost doing the same when he suddenly raised his hand.
The teacher looked at her expectantly and said:
"You don't have to raise your hand to speak in my classes, you can speak directly."
Ana nodded and said:
"Perhaps the fact that matter has continued to behave the same since the Big Bang indicates that elementary particles like quarks and gluons do not change so easily. And perhaps the Higgs Boson simply changes its behavior from time to time, we just never we detect that. "
Upon hearing this, most students internally agreed and the teacher smiled slightly, and said:
"You have a good point, thanks for sharing your opinion."
Jackson then stood up and said:
"We exist in a very small portion of the time in the universe. We cannot say that we predict 100% or even 90% of what happened in the past. The reason I brought this up at the beginning of class was so that you will never forget how much humanity needs to learn. " He then erased what he had written on the board and started writing something.
"It seems that someone shares the same spirit as Professor Jackson." Ralph murmured to Sieg, who laughed lightly.
Ana gave Ralph a cold look but said nothing.
After having an entire class on elementary particles, the three separated and went to attend other classes.
Ralph in particular was a little excited, as he was going to attend his favorite teacher's class.
The class was in the same block, so he quickly arrived at the place.
Upon entering, he noticed that the room was almost full and few places were left.
Cursing in his heart, Ralph realized that almost everyone in the room was a man, and Lucas was in a corner.
Lucas looked extremely surprised to see Ralph, who was walking towards him.
"Hehe ... Didn't you say you wouldn't be at the university today?" Ralph asked sarcastically.
"... I thought you were going to attend Professor Matheus's class, what are you doing here?" Lucas asked back.
"Professor Matheus changed the class schedule, and I decided to attend Professor Letícia's class" Ralph replied while sitting next to Lucas.
The wretch had lied about not going to university just to have someone willingly send the content.
But Ralph did not understand why he did not go to nuclear physics class, since Letícia's class would only start now.
Suddenly, the door to the room opened and everyone was silent.
A woman who looked to be around 22 years old came into the room, she had black hair and blue eyes, she had fair skin and her face looked like it was divine work, so perfect.
She was the only woman who ranked 10/10 on the beauty level on Ralph's personal scale.
Every man has slightly different patterns, some look at her face, some look at her butt or breasts that were E-Cup.
The teacher seemed to be somewhat used to it and just said indifferently:
"If you don't want me to sue you for sexual harassment, you'd better avoid those rotten looks."
Everyone then looked away in a hurry and felt a chill down her spine, they knew she wasn't kidding because it had happened in the past.
Ralph and Lucas however, did not stop watching the figure of Leticia. She was wearing a white blouse and jeans, which made her body extremely sensual for any straight man.
But Letícia's cold gaze suddenly woke them both.
While they were sweating cold, they remembered that they were old enough to be sued.
After sighing slightly, Letícia started writing on the board. The class was about advanced electromagnetism.
Unfortunately for Leticia, having turned her back to write, the looks never stopped.
Her expression gradually became colder until she couldn't take it anymore and had to sit down.
Ralph was a little uncomfortable too.
-These guys have no idea?
He thought.
He can understand most being attracted to her, and as the age difference is almost non-existent, most think they have a chance.
Suddenly, Lucas got up and went to the small stage where the teachers usually stay to teach.
"I think there is no way." He said as he took his phone out of his pocket and started recording.
"I'll let you know, my phone has 252gb of space and I'm recording in medium definition, enough to recognize the faces of each one of you."
Everyone suddenly looked away and started writing in the notebooks.
Letícia looked with gratitude at Lucas and started writing again on the board.
She had asked Lucas earlier that if the eyes didn't stop, he would record a video for her.
So students would behave more.
But the truth is that most were writing doodles and thinking of ways to get revenge.
Most were there just to see Leticia, and some were actually students in humanities courses.
Ralph kind of took pleasure in Lucas' bad luck, thinking that the opportunist will get what he deserved, but he soon thought that something was not right.
Looking around, he noticed that some students were looking at him.
A chill in his spine made Ralph wake up, he was a friend of the criminal!
Some may want to take revenge on Lucas by harming their friends, and Ralph could be seen as his friend!
Understanding his own situation, Ralph began to think of a way to get out of trouble.
Although he knows that most would not do anything extreme, extra care never hurts.
He decided to appeal and sent a message to Torvi.
Torvi (private):
Ralph-> Quick, call Lucas for a date!
Torvi-> Are you crazy? Why would I do something like that?
Ralph-> Don't ask questions, I'll let you use my computer for a while if you do.
Torvi-> Really? Weren't you angry that I broke your keyboard?
Ralph-> I'm still angry, but drastic situations call for drastic measures! Fast!
Torvi-> Ok Ok, no need for despair
Since Torvi had already finished high school, and had not yet entered a university, she had little to do other than study at home.
After talking to her, he took a print of the conversation and showed it to some students next door, who were a little confused.
Suddenly, Lucas's cell phone started to vibrate, it should have been a call, but Lucas's expression left the students beside Ralph illuminated.
Leticia noticed and looked confused at Lucas.
Was Lucas facing a serious dilemma, Torvi or Leticia?
Although he thinks Leticia is very beautiful, he likes Torvi better.
Lucas was 19 and only two years older than Torvi, but he was at least three years younger than Leticia.
After calculating the odds, Lucas decided and left the room to answer the call, not noticing Ralph's look of relief.
The students next door gave him a thumbs up and spoke to the others.
Soon, all the male students in the class knew about Ralph's heroic act.
He sacrificed his own sister for the greatest good!
