Lan Tian searches through Mo Yuan's room, hoping to find a clue, as to how he can break Mo Lian out of the loop.
During his search, one thing stands out to him. How formal and devoid of character the room is. Despite its state of utter disarray, it's almost impossible to tell what kind of person Mo Yuan was by the remaining contents of his room, because there is so little of it.
His room might as well have been a guest room, with how little effort he took to make it his own. An Yue's room is filled with wall hangings, paintings, tapestries, and little wooden carved statues he suspects she made herself. Little traces of whimsy she decorated her private space with.
There's nothing of the sort here.
Perhaps Mo Yuan took everything he treasured with him.
But Lan Tian thinks that he never tried to make this palace his home to begin with.
