*Author's POV*
At Takahashi's residence in the evening.
Akira sat on a chair in the dinning room and munched hungrily on her meal. The o-hitashi or hitashi-mono dish, which is boiled green-leaf vegetables bunched and cut to size, steeped in dashi broth and eaten with dashes of soy sauce.
Mrs Takahashi walked up to her daughter with a tray in her hands. It was kappō, a dish based on rice with miso soup and other side dishes such as fish, pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in broth.
Akira almost fainted seeing the tray of dish in her mother's hands.
"Akira, finish with that food quickly, there are lot's more to eat."
"Mum, who do you want to kill?"
"No one honey. Why do you say so?"
"The dish is too much mum. It's evening."
"I know, now that you are attending that rich school, you need to be extra healthy so your beauty comes out."
"What has my beauty got to do with school mum?"
"Akira, you may get into the acting industry or better still catch the eyes of one of those actors and marry!" she exclaimed.
Akira's jaw hung wide open as she listened to her mum's wishful thinking. "You're so excited like you are the one who wants to marry an actor mum" she thought to herself.
"Akira, now that is not celebrity like. Close your mouth and eat properly, we do not want to ruin this chance now, do we?"
"Mum, I am still in high school! I am just sixteen you know."
"There, there Akira, what better time than now to prepare for your future."
She faced palmed herself just listening to her mother chatter away.
Ignoring her mother, she went back to eating. Her mum finally kept quiet and sat down to join her daughter to eat.
"Say, Akira how was your first day at Celebrity High School like?"
"Wow that's a first mum. I was wondering why you haven't asked me that yet. I thought it would be the first thing you'd ask about when I came home."
Her mother grinned wickedly, "I just decided to let you have a rest and eat first" as soon as she said that, Akira opened her eyes wide in shock.
"Now that's a blatant lie mum. You had wicked plans" she thought in her head.
"Of course I wanted to pounce on you with those questions when you came home, but I had to hold back myself. If only you know the will power it took to hold myself back... But o do not plan on stopping till I get every details out of you dear daughter... Muahhaahahha" she thought in her head.
Meanwhile she had a charming smile on her face as she ate her food calmly.
"I care about you daughter" she reassured Akira.
"Feels more like I am your prey now that dad is dead" she murmured.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing mum" she lied. "So how was work today?" She tried throwing her mum off of her.
"Work was fine and normal, anyway tell me all about your first day."
"Fine! Well when I got to the school hall, I met trouble from one of the actresses. Apparently, she owned the school hall, when she enters, everyone clears the way but I did not."
"What did she do? Who dares bully my daughter!!"
"Mum, I ignored her and simply walked away. Hehhheehhhee it got her pretty mad but who cares, I had a lot of things on my mind."
"Nice, that's my girl!" She said, giving Akira a thumbs up.
She could say that she was very proud of her daughter. She was brilliant, intelligent, respectful and didn't take nonsense from others and unfortunately, could sometimes be a snub to those who deserved it.
"Well in class, they were shocked to say the least that a non celebrity came to the school. Some were welcoming." She said the last part looking all gloomy.
Her mother was worried about her sudden change of facial expression and felt the need to ask. "That should be good news, but why are you feeling down about it dear?"
"I met a guy and unfortunately things didn't go well" she sighed.
