A dark cavern so deep, only the most formidable of creatures would know of its bottom. Day? Night? Time seemed irrelevant down in its black, shadow drawn crevices. How long had he been there. Aimlessly wandering, searching for a light in this eternal void.
The one with no name, no one who understood him. No one who tried to. Lost for so long, hope and love were only but empty words to him. He would move forward, never back. Not knowing if ascending to an opening, or descending further. He didn't care. Only stopping for food and rest, both of which were pretty scarce down here.
As the boy continued his voyage with no destination, he soon saw something that he only remembered vaguely from the dreams of his distant past. He saw a glimpse of light. His lifeless, dulled eyes, fixated on the light. This light that illuminated a colour he was unfamiliar with. The blue hue of the sea.
Curious, he approached if, cautious as ever to not touch it. Was it harmful? Would he die if he got too close? But none of these truly bothered him. Nothing really mattered. Moving around the source, he decided to try reaching for it. His hand outstretched and as his fingers tried to grasp it. Closer. Closer until... nothing. The hue disappeared under where his hand had been stretched, how peculiar. But it was nothing quite like the other site he laid his eyes on. He stared at his out reached hand. Sparkling, brown. He knew what it was that he was gazing upon. But still had some disbelief. His eyes beginning to brighten to life. Curiosity, caution... and something else. For the first time since he could remember, he, could see himself.
His eyes drawn up to the source of this wondrous thing. He swam. Following it through every creak, crack and turn. The more he followed it, the more it appeared. It's stretch growing more and more. Until... he broke free, and this thing that had led him out, was everywhere. Infinite.
Adjusting his eyes for it was difficult for him to see.
... to see?
Yes... he could see now. He could see everything. Fish, everywhere. Life, exploding from every inch that was within his view. And above him, was something more.
Drawn further, he found himself speeding up. Faster. Faster. He couldn't stop himself. Where was he going? What would happen? He didn't know! With a sudden splash he finally had reached something. Gasping, he found himself not struggling to breathe. It was so unlike the dark place he had just came from. Above him, the purest, blue sky, reflected so beautifully in his bright, golden gaze. A strange, high pitched cawing, from multiple sources sounded overhead. There was a world far above the one he had known, and he wanted to explore it.
