As I hold the door shut I breathe heavily and try not to think about what I just saw. I see Zero sit up and look at me.
"What's wrong man? You look like you just saw a zombie or something."
He says jokingly as he stands up and walks over to me.
"There's a thing outside."
I say quietly.
"A thing, huh? Very descriptive."
He replies, pushing me out of the way and opening the door. He blankly stares at the girl with black sockets for eyes and the wide bleeding smile. He looks at me.
"This? This thing? It scared you?"
He asks while looking back at the creature.
"Y-yea."
I reply. He sighs and pokes the creatures forehead.
"It's a soul less demon. We call them Husks."
He says. I stare at him.
Husks?
I think to myself as I look back at the creature.
"They don't want to hurt anything, all they can do is just walk around. They're harmless, Kai. And humans can't see them."
He says as he puts his palm on the Husks forehead. A small wave of energy discharges from his palm and the Husk turns to dust and blows away in the gentle breeze. He closes the door and rubs the back of his neck.
"You shouldn't be worried about the Husks, Kai. You should be worried about whatever ate it's soul."
He says as he walks to the coffee table and grabs his sword pendant from it. He puts it on and wakes up Raycar, Rukia, and Vic. They all slowly wake up and stretch. When they all are fully awake they start walking out the door waving bye and smiling. I wave back and smiles lightly. I see my mom's still asleep and I decide to just walk outside for some air.
I open the door I notice all the street lights are busted down the street.
That's weird.
I think to myself as I walk down the street a little. I hear footsteps behind me and I quickly turn around. I see a husk aimlessly wandering around.
Another one?
I think to myself as I turn around and keep walking. As I get to the end of the street near the corner, I hear whispering around me.
What's going on?
I think to myself as I reach into my pocket.
Damn, I forgot to grab Nirioki.
I think to myself as I start to turn around. As I turn around I see a demon standing 10 feet away from me smiling.
"I want your soul next."
It says laughing. I take a step back and stare at it.
Great, and I don't have my sword to kill this thing.
I think to myself as the demon starts running toward me. I ready myself for a fist fight. As it gets toward me it summons a sword from energy and swings sideways at me. I narrowly duck under it and kick the demon in the knee. It goes down to one knee and I jump on top of it.
I start delivering punch after punch straight to its face. After hammering on it for several minutes I see it's energy sword has vanished. I stand up and stomp on its stomach and it coughs up black blood. I stare down at it then I start walking away.
I look back and see the demon is still laying on the ground and Husks start gathering around the demon.
What the fuck.
I think to myself as I watch Husks fall on top of the demon. Black energy starts swirling around all the Husks and the demon. As the energy vanishes the demon is dead and all the Husks start smiling and look at me. I back up as all the Husks come running toward me. I start running back to my house but a husk jumps on me from behind.
It knocks me to the ground but I quickly roll to my feet as all the Husks surround me. One of the Husks steps forward and smiles.
"Thank you, boy. Since you killed that demon we all got our power back."
The Husk says. I stare at it.
"So you're a demon again?"
I ask. It nods as it smiles.
"Sorry, we should be grateful...but we're hungry."
It says as it charges toward me. It throws a punch but I dodge to the side and grab the back of its head. I slam it's head down one the paved street then stomp on it, slightly cracking the pavement.
I'm surrounded, guess I have to fight.
I think as I keep my head on a swivel, watching our for the next demon to attack. Out of the corner of my eye I see a demon come running toward me. I quickly turn around and deliver a sidekick to its head and I knock it off its feet. As I look around I see 8 demons are left standing.
I wonder if I can speed this up a bit.
I think as I keep waiting for the next demon to attack. 2 come running at me next and split dropkick both of them in their knees and trip them. As I land on my back I see a demon running to me from my side. I quickly roll to my feet and kick it in the head and it falls back. It hits it's head on the ground with a heavy thud.
Five left.
3 more run to me and throw punches at me. I duck the first two but the third tries to uppercut me. I block his uppercut then punch him in the face. As that demon falls back, the other two try to kick me. I roll forward to my feet and evade their kicks.
I jump towards them and punch one in the face and the other demon swings its right arm at me. I duck down then jump up and uppercut it right under the jaw, knocking it off balance. As I look around I see 2 left standing. They turn around and start running away.
Oh no you don't!
I think as I chase after them. I run up behind one of them and kick it in the back of the knee, which trips it and it hits it's face on the pavement. I keep running after the last one and tackle it to the ground. I roll it over and punch it in the face repeatedly till it isn't moving anymore. I stand up and breathe heavy.
That was a pain.
I think as I start walking home slowly. I see the demons start slowly turning to dust and blowing away in the wind. I get home after walking a few minutes and walk inside. I walk to my room and look around for Nirioki. I finally find it under my pillow. I blankly stare at it then see a note under my pillow as well. I pick up the note and read it.
"Kai, I'm hiding your sword under your pillow so those idiots sleeping in your room won't find it. Your pal, Raycar."
It says. I stare at the note for a moment then I smile.
Guess he's nicer than I previously thought.
I think as I sit on my bed. All of a sudden there's a knock on my window as I walk to my window and open it Aziria jumps in.
"KAI!"
She yells. I put my hand over her mouth.
"Calm down Aziria, what's wrong?"
I ask. She breathes heavy.
"I was chilling with Zero, Zen, and Vic and a portal opened up. A demon came out and grabbed Zen and dragged him back through the portal. Vic says it's a portal to hell!"
Aziria says hastily.
Portal to hell!? And a demon dragged Zen through it? I have to admit, there hasn't been many dull moments since I started hanging out with these guys.
I think then I speak up.
"Come on, take me to the Vic."
Aziria nods and teleports us to the woods as I look around I see a giant portal with fire around it. I notice Zero, Vic, Vexx, Raycar, and Jinna are in front of the portal. As I walk up Zero turns around.
"Kai, we're going to hell, literally!"
