The creature heals and stands up, opening its two mouths and jumping towards me. With one swift motion, I put both my hands on my sword and raise it above my head. As the mouths get close to me, I slam my blade downward, slicing through its flesh and bone.
The beast fall to the ground, a massive cut from its head to its stomach. I quickly cut off both of the heads, making sure it's completely dead, then dash down the hallway after the other creature. After a few seconds of sprinting, I see it staring back at me in the distance. I push as hard as my legs will carry me, easily covering hundreds of feet per stride.
I almost instantly reach the creature, and as it starts to turn to smoke again, I leap over its neck and swing towards its throat. My blade cuts halfway through its neck as it turns to smoke once again. I jam my sword downward into the tile so I won't get out of range of the creature.
I follow the smoke back up the tunnel, and see it reform ontop of It That Devours' dead body, breathing smoke into it. I instantly leap towards it, slamming my sword sideways against its face. Its body launches back against the bookshelf, but even though the tile wall behind it cracks, the books don't even move.
I look down to It That Devours, noticing its head is healing. Without pause, I slice the heads off again. Soon, both bodies turn to a strange black ooze, combing into one large puddle. Vex stands up, slowly making his way too me.
"Damn, the big one really did a number on me."
Vex murmurs, popping both of his shoulders and his neck. Vex holds out his hand, a look of confusion on his face.
"[Telekinesis 1]."
The book on the floor flies into the palm of his hand.
"We can use magic again, those monsters must have been negating it somehow."
Vex quickly teleports away while I keep my eyes on the strange black puddle. The puddle suddenly starts rolling towards the main room, like water on a hill. It starts slowly, but steadily gains speed.
I follow it, soon arriving back at the statue in the main room. The black ooze splits off into eleven parts, ten of which move to the tentacles forming a cage. The eleventh split off ooze moves to the statue in the cage and onto it. Its eyes glow a deep blue, almost like the sky.
Suddenly, without any warning, the tentacles spring to life. One wraps around me before I can react, locking me in place. I notice two tentacles reach upwards where Azeroth went. Three others quickly extend down the hallway where Vex, Kain, and Warren are. Azeroth and Blankk are brought from the ceiling wrapped in the same way I am.
Azeroth struggles and shakes violently, attempting to break free. Blankk is still unconscious, and It's obvious that Azeroth is trying to get to him. I look back and see the others pulled from the hallway, also wrapped. Everyone struggled except Vex and I. Warren grunts.
"I like it kinky, but this is absurd!"
Vex rolls his eyes and looks to me.
"I see you don't feel threatened either."
He says calmly, I quickly nod in response.
"If it could subdue us all this easily, it could easily kill us."
I reply, looking back to the statue. The statue instantly crumbles inward, along with the floor beneath it. A massive chasm is revealed beneath us and the tentacles pull us downward thousands of feet, almost in a plummet. We soon come to an abrupt stop, and an eye opens halfway up in front of us
The eye is almost sixty feet wide and tall, deep blue with a red slit in the middle. A heavy eye lid covering the top of the massive eye. A deep voice rumbles around us.
"Survivors of the trial, what knowledge do you seek?"
Suddenly its name and level appear.
I stare at the beast with no fear, and quickly speak up.
"Tell me how to defeat Arthur."
I speak clearly, staring at the massive thing before us. It sighs, almost deafeningly loud. Everyone else winces from its overpowering voice.
"Kill Grim in Mathric, or convince him to release his blessing."
I nod, in response to his advice. The eye slight turns to look at Blankk and Azeroth.
"Hmm."
The tentacle holding Blankk lets go, droppimg him into the abyss below us. Azeroth immediately goes into a crazed fury, kicking and screaming. Azeroth glares at the monster, a feeling of putrid hatred emanating from him.
"And you, child?"
It speaks slowly, its words still painfully loud. Azeroth grits his teeth before shouting back.
"You can go fuck yourself! I will kill you, you disgusting monster!"
He further struggles while the creature scoffs and looks to Vex. I look to him, anxious for his question.
"Hm, if I had to pick any one question, I'd just like to know if there's any way to save him."
The monster looks to me, then brings me closer to its eye. As I get inches from its eye, I see a smaller eye peering into mine. It puts me back by the others and blinks. Just its eyelid moving causes an explosion like sound.
"No. As is, there is no hope."
The monster's eye pans to Warren and Kain. I suddenly feel myself snap back into reality, almost as though I was in some strange daze. I look around, confused.
"No hope?"
I mumble, seeing Kain's lips moving, but no sound coming out. The monster looks downward to the abyss below us, then back to Kain.
"Yes, you are correct."
I recoil slightly from the pain in my ears. Warren shakes his head.
"Will Carrina and Mia be okay?"
Warren asks, a strange sense of concern in his voice. For several seconds Warren and the beast stare at each other.
"No."
Instantly, we're all flung upward, back into the main room. One more time we hear its voice boom.
"The Time of Calamity is rapidly approaching."
We're all released, Azeroth instantly unfolding his wings and pulling out his scythe. As he starts to jump down the hole, Blankk is suddenly flung up. His body lands in front of us.
I look at him, noticing he's no longer wearing his normal clothes, but now a fancy black tailcoat with blue symbols lining the sides. Black pants and boots with his hair styled to one side.
We all stare at him in confusion, Blankk instantly kicking up to his feet and looking at his outfit.
"Wouldn't be my first choice, if I was able to choose."
He says calmly, not confused or freaked out by the situation at all. He looks up to us, his eyes glowing dark blue.
