As darkness unwraps, we see smaller buildings around us and the sound of crashing waves in front of us. We all look around, trying to figure out where the port may be. Vex quickly moves forward and looks passed the buildings, then waves back for us to follow him.
We all follow behind him around the corner, seeing another massive gate, much like the one on Sathric that led to Vathric. We see this gate is much more guarded though, at least 40 guards stationed around the entrance, and another 50 around the perimeter. Vex chuckles.
"I'm going off a hunch, that leads to Vel. Why else would they have so many guards? Mathric wouldn't warrant so many guards, so that has to be the gate we're looking for!"
He exclaims proudly.
"I got us really close to the portal, go me!"
He mumbles silently, clearly happy to have gotten here so quickly. I roll my eyes and reach back for HexCalibur, but Vex quickly looks back to me and shakes his head.
"Dante! There are other ways to solve problems! Use your head, not your sword for everything."
Vex and I lock eyes, clearly believing in different solutions to problems. I sigh and let go of my sword, waiting for his answer to the problem. He smiles and points his hand outward.
"You could solve problems this easily too, but you always want to take the violent route. [Telekinesis 10]."
We watch as every guard, vehicle, and not pinned down piece of equipment floats off the ground. The ground becomes dark, the shadows from everything off the ground blocking out the sun. The confused screams of guards echo as Vex smiles.
"See? Easier than murdering them all."
Vex says, looking to me. I shake my head and start moving towards the portal. While walking under the guards, I hear some of them calling for help. I stop walking and look up, ready to silence their cries. Suddenly I get pushed forward, looking back to see Vex shaking his head.
Azeroth, Warren, and Kain walk behind us, all of us moving closer and closer to the portal. We walk up the metal steps and onto the platform before the portal. Suddenly black sparks fly from the gate and an ominous breeze rolls from it. Black and blue swirls forward, almost like a whirlpool.
Without hesitation, without fear, I step forward into the portal. Unlike the Sathric portal, which felt like I was flying forward, I know I feel like I'm falling down. I plummet, the blue in the portal slowly turning to white. An infinite sea of black and white flows around me, but abruptly stops. I blink and get launched forward from the portal almost 30 feet away.
I land in on soft snow, but it isn't cold. I stand up and brush myself off, but hear a slight growl beside me. I look to my left and see a malnourished animal glaring at me, its skin clinging to its bones. Slick white fur and six legs stand out the most about it. Its back is about six feet from the ground.
I pause when I see its level and name.
"I'm not in a dungeon, so why can I see that?"
I mumble to myself, the wolf lunging towards me. I quickly raise my hand and slap its head downward. I widen my eyes as I completely slap its head off of its body. Bone and blood splattering outwards when it hits the soft snow.
"Right, I forget how strong I am."
No experience notice appears, so I sigh and stretch. Immediately, the portal cracks and seemingly hisses, everyone else getting launched outwards and landing in the same place I landed. Vex stands up, quickly looking to me and then the dead animal.
"We leave you alone for a few seconds and you kill something!"
He shouts, Warren chuckling behind him. It seems to dawn on them all at the same time. I see them all looking at the snow, but by their expressions, it doesn't feel cold to them either. A slight rumble in the distance catches all of our attention.
We all look in front of us, seeing a massive creature charging towards us. I squint, trying to look closer. White fur and six legs, much like the wolf I just killed. It quickly gets closer and closer, another notice appearing.
Kain stumbles back at seeing the level, almost frozen. Vex gasps slightly and holds out his hand.
"[Telekinesis 3]!"
The beast floats off the ground and continues to howl and growl. It stands almost thirty feet tall and over sixty feet long. Warren speaks up, his voice almost shaking.
"Continent of Monsters, aptly named."
He says quietly while we all look at the massive wolf. In the distance we see several others running towards us. I look to Vex.
"These aren't humans, these are beasts. Let me do what I do best."
I say, smiling slightly. Vex sighs and lowers his head.
"Fine, since I doubt there's any humans living here, you can let off some steam here. But if we find any humans, you can't atta-."
I teleport to the Apex Wolf and draw my sword, slicing through its skull and throat with one solid swing. I land on the ground and instantly dash forward, feeling my blood rushing and a strange sense of happiness flooding my senses. I meet the other wolves and quickly look to their levels. They all are Arin Wolves, but none of the others have the title Apex.
I easily dispatch of all four of them and watch their bloody bodies slide across the snow. I wipe the blood on my sword off on the white fur of one of the beasts and watch everyone walk over to me.
Kain speaks up.
"W-well, judging from their sizes, I'd say the first one you killed was a baby."
Kain says, almost a sense of sadness in his voice. I stare at my sword and smile. A slight throbbing sensation runs through my left arm, and as I look over, I see another thorn appear on the tattoo.
I think nothing of it and place my sword on my shoulder. I look to Vex and notice he has a concerned look on his face, clearly knowing something.
