Victor Vultus as his name implied, was a stern man. He was well known within the Valley for his no nonsense attitude as well as his perpetual scowl. As the elder in charge of the new disciples, he took pride in his strict teachings towards the youngsters. As he believed strict discipline as the only true path to success.
And it could be argued that he wasn't wrong, at the young age of fifty he was able to reach the level of sage and become the youngest elder within the Sage's Valley. Considering the thousand years lifespan of someone in the sage realm, a person of fifty years was little more than an infant in their eyes.
While he wasn't the strongest elder in the sect, nor the most talented. He was one of the most well-known and respected, for his diligence when preforming his duties. Working outside the sect for two decades as an enforcer in the Peace Force, he was able to achieve the rare feat of effectively eradicating all crime in his jurisdiction.
After he became a sage, the ocean king Zander was quick to appoint him as the elder in charge of the new recruits. As he believed Victor to be the perfect teacher and role model for those at the start of their cultivation journey.

As Victor looked around the dining hall full of red robed disciples, he couldn't help but feel a headache developing. "I don't know what the higher ups are thinking. Why can't they call back some high or mid-level disciples, rather than using these children?" In the end Victor could only shake his head.
"Ahem!" Victor cleared his throat to get their attention.
"As many of you should already know, the Sage's Valley is in the midst of preparing for a grand event in two weeks, that will be attended by representatives from all of the continents major powers." Started Victor.
"However, what you all don't know is the reason for this event. that being the birth of the Valley master and madam's first child." Victor continued.
As he said this the entire dining hall erupted into chaos.
"What! The sect masters have had a child, I thought that was impossible?"
"This changes a lot of things; I wonder how the other powers are going to react?"
"Wow! This is great news I wonder if it's a boy or girl?"
"Lucky them, having two ascendants as parents, this baby must be super human"
Due to the shocking nature of the news, it took Victor a while to restore order to the room. It must be noted that the higher the cultivation level of the parents the greater the difficulty is for them to conceive.
It had been widely accepted that by the time one reaches the realm of sage they should give up any plans of having children. However, nature's gift to the parents willing to persevere are children who are extraordinarily talented.
"As I was saying before you all so rudely interrupted me" Victor said as he glared at the disciples. "The sect master and madam have had their first child, a baby girl. This coming event is going to be the celebration for her third birthday."
Once again, the dining hall was beset by a chorus of chattering.
" That's her Heavens day!" gasped a disciple.
"I've never heard of a public Heavens day before, is this a good idea?" replied another disciple.
The Heavens day tradition in the Acies continent seemed as old as time itself. It had already been ingrained in the continent's culture long before the oldest of its current inhabitants were born. This tradition stemmed from the fact that a child's body wouldn't have the ability to absorb aura until the age of three years old. Before age three it was impossible to determine a child's talent level, so it became a tradition to display the child's talent to the world on their third birthday.
However, in a world where martial talent was seen as the most important, having an heir with poor talent could completely delegitimize an organization. After a few such cases, many leaders decided to start preforming the Heavens day ceremony behind closed doors as a safety precaution. Closed door Heavens day ceremonies had been the norm for so long that many in the current generation had no knowledge of it ever being a public ceremony.
Once again Victor was forced to wait for the uproar to die down before he could continue with what he had to say.
"I haven't finished there's more, this news in particular concerns you all as red robe disciples. The sect master and madam have decided that the young miss's future body guards will be chosen from among your number. After the Heavens day ceremony, the sect will hold a competition open to all red robe disciples who want to participate. the top ten will be chosen as the young miss's personal guard and will receive the personal training of the sect master and madam."
After dropping this bombshell, Victor preceded to walk out of the dining hall in haste as the entire hall erupted into an uproar much louder than the previous two times.
