Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 - Blacksmit- Transmuting

After running halfway across the city, I BELIEVED that I had escaped her mind-reading field.

"Well shit, what do I do now?"

[You could pick up a supporting occupation...]

"Supporting Occupation? Do you mean like blacksmithing and stuff?"

[Yes, Blacksmithing, Doctor, Engineer, Enchanter, Appraiser, Runist, etc. There is a supporting occupation for nearly everything.]

"So what should my supporting occupation be and is there a limit to how many of them can I pick up?"

[You can choose any supporting occupation you wish, just that your talents would fit into becoming a Blacksmith, or Engineer. You can also only one supporting occupation until you are Tier 1 and that increases by 1 per Tier. Occupations are ranked as Novice, Intermediate, Expert, Master, Grandmaster, Legendary, and Godly.]

"So where is the blacksmithing place?"

[5 miles north, and 3 miles west.]

The reason that I chose blacksmithing was that I could make an insane profit selling gear and would be extremely easy for me to duplicate using my talent.

I started making my way towards the Blacksmithing Association and hopefully, I won't be met with some money-grubbing lady.

"I heard that..."

"..."

Nevermind the crazy lady in the back of my head.

Under the guidance of the System, I quickly made it to the Blacksmithing Association within a couple of minutes. The lobby of the Blacksmithing Association had the same grandeur of that as of the Adventurer's Guild.

(I use Association and Guild interchangingly, so yeah.)

This time, the person at the front desk was a middle-aged man.

'No bad thoughts, no bad thoughts.'

"Hello? I would like to become a Blacksmith."

The middle-aged man looked at me and then shrugged.

"Ok, follow me, if you can pass this trial you will be, an apprentice Blacksmith and if you can craft your own equipment you will become a Novice Blacksmith."

As soon as the middle-aged man said that, he quickly left and motioned for me to follow.

I was led into a small room that was significantly hotter than the lobby. There was a small black anvil next to a red hot furnace. Accompanied by several tools on the wall.

"This is a small piece of Iron if you can successfully smelt it, you will be considered to have passed and will become an apprentice. If you take it one step farther and turn this piece of Iron into a weapon, then you will become, a Novice Blacksmith."

"That's it?"

"Yep, that's it, I will be watching you and if I see you cheating, it will be considered failing and you will be banned from the Blacking Smith Association for life."

"Am I allowed to use my talent?"

"Of course you can! Is that it?"

"Yep."

"You can begin now."

I put my hand on the blacksmith ore and turned it into an iron dagger.

"Ok, done."

The middle-aged man who was turning around to walk to the back of the room immediately turned around.

"I told you that cheating will result in a ban for LIFE!"

"I didn't cheat, I used my talent."

"Talent?! What talent turns iron ore into a dagger!"

"Mine! Look, I can turn this dagger into molten iron."

I transmuted the iron dagger into a hot heap of Iron, then I transmuted it into a dagger once again.

This time, the middle-aged man was staring at the piece of metal under my hands.

"Does, this mean I passed?"

"What's your talent called?"

"Transmuter!"

"What does it do?"

"I can turn anything I want into anything I want."

"Can it make a weapon sharp?"

"Yep."

"Can it give weapons and armor special properties?"

"I don't know."

"..."

The middle-aged man took out a spear that was roughly 9 feet long and immediately made the room cool down in an instant.

"If you can replicate this perfectly, I will promote you to an Expert Blacksmith."

I took the spear out of the middle-aged man's hands and took a look at its stats.

Flowing Spear of the Ice Dragon - Epic

A replica of the Legendary version of this spear.

Level Requirement - 500

Class Requirement - A class that can use a spear.

Attack Damage - 102,000,000

Attacks with the spear, slow down the opponent by 50% and causes freezing damage equal to 1% of the opponent's maximum HP per hit.

...

I quickly looked over the stats of the spear and basically, it was OP. However, this didn't mean anything to me since, it required the user to be level 500.

"Do you have any materials that I can use to make another one of these?"

"Yep, give me one second."

The old man left the room for a second and then came back with 10 different types of ore and 5 different types of wood.

[Mana Ore]

An ore that when used allows the created object to have special attributes and has hardness equivalent to Steel.

[Mithril Ore]

An ore that gives the created object a skill that can be charged using Mana and has hardness equivalent to Diamonds.

...

Basically it was a bunch of ores normally used to make the spear. Naturally I learned all of them in order to create better quality weapons and armor.

After grabbing all the required materials, I atteptmed to transmute the spear.

[This transmutation requires the use of Mana.]

[Will the user proceed?]

'Yes'

I saw my mana draining as well as the spear beginning to form in my hands.

[This creation requires 5x the Maximum Mana of the User, allow overdraft in HP? 1 % of HP will be equal to 5% of Mana.]

'Proceed!'

If I allow an overdraft on my HP, I'll still have 20% of my HP left.

As soon, as I allowed the System to drain my HP, I saw my HP drain until I had 20% of my HP left.

In my hands was another spear identical to the one that the middle aged man gave me.

[Transmutation is succesful.]

"Do I pass?"

"Of course you pass!"

The middle aged man grabbed the spear out of my hands and walked out of the room.

"I'll be right back, with your blacksmith emblem!"

"Ok..."
