"Thank you for your guidance, Sir." Nia bowed deeply to Martio as that big man stepped out of the arena.
"A really fun battle, next time, we should 'play tag' with swords in our hand." Rafa grinned cheerfully as she held both of her waist.
Martio smiled, "Yeah, you lads are good. I'll accept your challenge next time, Lad. Hope you be prepared to lose." Martio smirked mischievously.
"You bet."
Three of them jumped down from the arena and walked to their previous seat.
"The ladies are the winner! Each of them got 20 bonus points for every subject in new semester!" The robotic voice declared.
A lot were making ruckus about that, but they were too scared to step out and have battle.
"Teacher, may I have a battle?"
A young girl dressed in a long white robe approached the arena. She jumped into the arena box when the woman with round glasses acting as the host nodded at her demand. The young girl opened her hood and showed her long white hair.
"Thank you, Teacher. May I choose my opponent?" Her pinkish eyes glimmering in excitement.
"Yes, you may."
The girl turned to her back and pointed to one person sitting on the red couch with cold glares. "Sir Sanchez, would you give me the honor to spare with you?"
The boy dressed in long black robe, there were an accent of gold threads on the hood and the sleeves. Heard he was chosen, he stood up and walked to the arena, then jumped up. He sighed a little before reached his hood.
He opened his black robe and showed short black hair. His ruby eyes seemed dark and dreadful. His pale face was in a great shape, if he didn't have that black and red color on hair and eyes, everyone must've fallen for him.
"I am Lili. Nice to meet you." The boy only nodded a little. No reply no feedback.
"Please choose your weapon." The robotic voice echoed. A plate coming up from the middle of the arena showed a slightly different weapons. Seemed like none of the contestants will use the same weapon used before a.k.a they will always get the new items.
The girl chose a well-crafted silver wand. The boy chose a traditional-looking wooden wand. Both chose to only use magic. Everyone whispering to each other, telling why would they use only magic when they could use swords and magic in the same time.
"You have pick the wands. Please listen to the rules." The plate coming down and the robotic voice starting to spout out the rules.
"The rules are simple. No touch with hand or part other than the weapon you chose. Sneak attack is allowed, but no touching 'sensitive' area. Surrender is allowed with saying 'OUT', no false alarm. Breaking rules would result to a certain punishment detailed by the committee." The same rules as before heard.
"Lastly," But here was an additional rule. "for magic users only. You may not cast multiple spells in the same time and high-level magic is the limit, unique-level magic was prohibited. In arena, magic aura is not provided and may only use casters' MP. There will be alarm to MP below five percent and the casters will be automatically eliminated due to arena safety issue. Breaking these rules would result to a certain punishment detailed by magic division of the comitee with the consideration of the Academy Headmaster. Now, battle begin!"
"Bind." The boy said with a flat face.
Suddenly, golden vines came out of nowhere and reached the girl.
"Heat." The girl said right before the vines touched her legs. The vines melted like a metal exposed to high heat.
"Ice blades." The girl casted and appeared a lot of sharpened ice surrounding the boy.
The ice gradually and quickly shot, trying to stab the boy, but the boy jumped again and again to avoid it without any hardship. As if he was used to it. Though neither the boy nor the girl changed expression from their unread emotionless face, their voice also too stable without any changed notes.
"Wind Arrows."
"Flaming Hell."
"Earth Crusher."
"Chaos."
"Are you for real?" A boy watching real close to the arena puffed his cheeks.
"Oi, Sanchez, Lady, quit it. The arena's protection wall might be destroyed." The boy said with an annoyed face and a sigh.
Everyone began to whisper to each other again, saying it's weird, but a few dumbfounded.
Magic aura was not provided, so the casters in that arena must have had an enormous amount of MP as they were casting a high-level magic over and over again with a straight face. Someone with low MP will surely die in the first place. By the way, if MP got lower (could be down to minus point), the caster's life would be in danger, maybe could go into comatose or a hibernation state.
'Hibernation' here meant will not be awake until… well, no one knows when will the caster gain consciousness, maybe, the caster would just die in sleep. Because of the danger, every now and then, schools or academies provided for magician (mage) or taught magic, will have the rule not to exhaust MP lower than 5%. If there were no rules like these then maybe magician has extinct from this world. After all, magic was said tobe the most dangerous feature every creature have.
But, the most dumbfounded thing was that boy with a short green hair and tall figure, standing so close to the arena. Which was of course prohibited due to the amount of energy or magic damage that might leak out.
The boy called Sanchez stopped his action, either does the girl called Lili. They looked at each other, then bent down to the green haired boy.
"You want to join in?" The girl and Sanchez-boy smiled a little.
"Me? Na-ah. Just wanna stop you TWO!" The green-haired boy was pulled in to the arena.
"Hihi… Sir Sanchez, we should be fair, right? Don't use this wand and use our very own skill." The girl, Lili, said with a faint smile toward Sanchez as she put down her wand to the plate which coming up just now.
"Sure," Sanchez put down his wand to the plate. "now, you, Chris, choose. Better win or you'll be…" Sanchez smiled even wider than before.
'Creepy.' That's what the green-haired boy called Chris thought as he set a stiff smile on his face.
"Hah… why do I always get into things like this… well, okay."
Fwushh…
Bluish aura coming out from Chris' body. Chris smiled gently and said, "Come at me, then."
