Mika and Lukas were finally able to go back home. David, who was Lukas' assistant, helped them getting their stuff out of the car. Mika supported Lukas as he walked slowly. His recovery might take some time according to Dr. Karl. As usual, Mika looked in the fridge to see whether she can make something healthy for Lukas. She sighed and looked at David who was putting their stuff onto the ground.
"David! Got a minute?"
"Yeah, what's up?" He replied.
"Can you get some grocery for us? You can stay for dinner, I'll cook. Here are the list that I would like to buy but if it's too expensive or you can't find it, that's okay." Mika texted him the list and David signalled okay.
"Then, I'll leave you to unpack. I'll be back soon." David waved at them and went back to his car.
Since they had some time, Mika sat with Lukas on the sofa, he fell asleep so quickly after getting back. She felt his forehead and felt relieved. Dr. Karl also told Mika to watch for any side effect during recovery and he also told her it will be very normal for him to feel tired since it was a big surgery for him. Since Mika was in good shape, her recovery was a bit faster.
"Thank goodness, no fever." Mika decided to get up and placed a blanket over him. While Lukas fell asleep, Mika decided to unpack and got their stuff upstairs. She was feeling much better physically than a few days ago. After unpacking, she went downstairs and heard someone by the front door.
"David, you're back already? It's not even 30 minutes." Mika was surprised that he came back so quickly.
"Sorry, I wasn't able to go. There was a huge traffic jam outside and I literally got stuck there for over 20 minutes. All of the cars weren't moving so I had to make a U-Turn and come back. But on the other hand, the vegetables will be delivered to you around 15 minutes according the app. I paid for it already." David was sweating from the summer heat. Mika got some iced water for him to drink.
"Sorry for all of the trouble. Thanks for paying. What's your account number? I'll transfer the money to you right now." Mika had her phone opened but David stopped her, "No need, the company will reimburse me." Mika nodded and smiled, "Come and have a seat. Lukas is still asleep on the sofa so you probably need to sit on the couch. Hope you will be okay with it. It's really hot outside and beside we have air condition. Make yourself at home." David nodded and helped himself with some snacks on the coffee table.
After a few minutes, Mika received a call from Anthony.
"Mika? Are you back home?"
"Yes, what is it?"
"I'm outside of Lukas' house right now? Is it a good time?" Anthony waited beside his car and Mika gripped her phone tightly.
"Sorry, please go. I need to take care of Lukas. Talk to you later." Mika hung up and looked at the ceiling light feeling irritated.
"Who was it?" David asked.
"Anthony. He's outside right now. But I really don't want to see him. Lukas is not in the condition to see Anthony." She sighed. David stood up and smiled, "I'll go and kick him out."
"It's okay, David. Can you watch over Lukas? If he wakes up, let me know." Mika went out after grabbing her thin light jacket. Her hair was tied into a ponytail and she wore her favorite shorts and flowery cami top. Mika remained calm as she saw Anthony.
"What is it? Why do you want to see me?"
"Mika, I knew you'd come to me. We haven't talked after Lukas went to surgery and I missed you." Mika stepped back when Anthony wanted to touch her shoulder.
"Mika. Come to me, I'll take good care of you." Anthony walked forward and Mika grabbed her phone while walking backward.
"Anthony, back off. I don't want to hurt you. If you leave, I won't call the police. Otherwise, you leave me with no choice. You could be accused of sexual harassment. Do you think that will look good on you? You are Lukas' twin brother, you are your brother's other half. Siblings aren't supposed to be rivals. You guys are suppose to help each other. Anthony, what you need isn't my love. You need someone to accept you. Lukas will definitely accept you if you apologize to him properly for all of the mistakes you've done in the past. I believe he will forgive you. Please, Anthony. I don't want to see you guys fight any longer. I've had enough. Lukas isn't in the best shape, so please understand. One last thing, Anthony, we're all adults. We each have our own responsibilities. You do too, right? Besides being responsible, you ought to be mature as well. You are not a child anymore. So, please get rid of your childish thoughts. Make up with your brother, he needs you. He doesn't want to fight you. I can only do so much for you guys. It's up to you to make that choice. I have to go now, Lukas will probably wake up soon. Think about what I said, okay? Talk to you later." Mika went back to the house and Anthony kicked his car out of anger.
"AHHH!" He screamed and punched his car window. Aisha came out of the car and said, "Boss, your hand is bleeding. Let's get to the hospital." Anthony was in a bad mood for the rest of the day but he also thought about what Mika had said to him.
After Mika went back, Lukas was awake and he embraced her tightly. She hugged back and closed her eyes.
"How are you feeling, Lukas?"
"Much better after that nap. Where did you go?" He asked.
"I saw Anthony but I also taught him a mini lesson. He's probably sulking right now." She smiled and kissed Lukas, "My heart will always belong to you."
"I know. I trust you. But Mika, I really don't like eating vegetables. Vegetables are for rabbits."
"Lukas, you are still recovering. Vegetables are the best for your condition. Don't complain! You have to eat whatever I cook tonight. Okay?" Mika scolded him lightly without hurting his feelings. Lukas didn't have any choice but to obey. Just then, the door bell rang. It was Katy. She was ecstatic to see Mika and her brother.
"Mika! I missed you, too! I missed you, too, brother." She hugged Mika and looked at her brother.
"What did you bring?" Mika asked as she saw two gift small gift bags.
"One for you. One for my brother. Congratulations on getting out of the hospital."
"Such a cute teddy bear, and this cute coffee cup. Thank you, Katy. It's very adorable." Mika placed her gift on the counter and so did Lukas. He sat on the sofa again since he didn't want to do anything besides resting.
"Katy, stay with your brother. I'm going to cook now." Mika went to the kitchen while Katy sat beside her brother. She played on her phone since she got nothing to talk about with her brother. After a while, Katy stood up and went to Mika.
"Can I help out? My brother isn't in the mood. He looks really tired. Will he be okay?" Katy looked concerned because she expected her brother to recover faster.
"He'll be fine. He just need a lot of rest. He's been through a lot of medical procedures. He needs time to recover. Can you help me chop up the cucumbers and carrots?"
"We're eating carrots?" Katy made a weird face.
"Yeah, you don't like them?" Mika asked and Katy nodded, "I hate carrots in general."
"Then, your brother will eat them. He needs a ton of vegetables." Mika joked around. Katy sighed while she chopped up the carrots and cucumbers."
After an hour, dinner was ready. All of them sat on the dinner table. There were variety of dishes from vegetables to nourishing soup.
"This chicken soup tastes awesome, Mika!" Katy gave her a thumbs up and so did David, "It's great, Mika! You're a great chef."
"Help yourself, I have more in the pot." Mika also tasted her soup and she loved the taste of it.
"Lukas, how is it?" Mika asked.
"It's good, not too salty." He replied. Mika also passed around some of the vegetable dishes and made sure everyone got to taste some.
"Mika, you're really amazing. I want to learn from you." David helped himself with more soup and rice.
"Same! Mika, can you teach me how to make chicken soup?" Katy asked and Mika nodded, "Of course."
"I'm glad. Please help yourself." Mika looked at Lukas who was eating slowly, "How are you feeling? If you don't want to eat, don't force yourself." He reassured her and replied, "I'm fine. Don't worry." Mika's hand held onto Lukas' hand which was cooler than hers.
"Lukas, wear this light jacket. Your hands are cold." Mika helped Lukas fixing up the jacket a bit while David and Katy sipped on their soup.
"David, they look so sweet that I'm about to have a cavity." Katy joked around and David laughed, "For sure, me too. We're like the third wheel." They giggled as they watched Lukas and Mika together.
