Chapter 73 - Burst through the storm!

(Zephain experimental site ruins - Celladonia)

(Sedem's POV)

Aight then! The plan was laid out long ago in my head!

First things first, getting to wherever Shyza was.

The next thing was as simple as taking candy from an alien plant child!

Getting her out without dying.

I had already spelled out the plan to the others and currently, we stood quite a distance away from a deep crater that spanned about 100km wide. Within the crater, were four glass domes each taking the positions of the four cardinal points respectively.

The domes were linked to a central dome by glass tubes however many of the domes were shattered as signs of ancient explosions decorated their exteriors.

The technology within and around the area was also shut down entirely as the veil guards responsible for clouding the interiors were completely useless because we could see through.

"Are you sure she's here?", I turned back, making eye contact with the little wolf girl.

She replied with a nod, "Her scent is extremely strong. Especially in that structure."

Her finger motioned towards the biggest dome in the centre of the circular array, formed by the arrangement of the other domes.

"This place...", Olivia placed her right fist on her chest. "I don't like it. It doesn't feel right."

My ears immediately perked up the instant I felt my goddess' discomfort!

"Fret not milady!! I'll smite this horrid feeling you have!!! No one and I mean NO ONE! Shall ever disrupt my increasing attraction towards you!!!! Yes! YAS!!!-"

"Boy, what are you doing?", the clan leader's chilling voice interrupted.

Uh-

.

.

.

I instantly cleared my throat, "Pardon me."

"A violent storm approaches", the little girl turned towards a group of dark clouds.

"Heh, a small storm ain't gonna stop us little girl", I grinned.

"I have a name. It's Eterna and I'm 35"

"N- NANIIIII!!??"

(Sub-dome W - Claudia's POV)

Retrieving the president's daughter was a success.

The next step was to leave the planet however, it seemed as if a few people wouldn't allow us to do so.

Miss Shyza currently rested in a transport tube within the central dome and would be sent into the escape ship once I alerted YinYue and the other kid.

Our escape was bound to see delays, considering the intruders who lurked on the rims of the crater.

We had to deal with them fast.

"AAAAAHHH!! Fuck this shit!!"

*CRASH!!*

An old machine flew into the air and shattered after colliding with a stone statue the instant I entered the dome.

Someone wasn't in a good mood...

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! FUCK!!!"

A lady bearing quite an impressive physique kept rampaging as she smashed every single object with her own two fists. The maiden cursed with every blow she delivered and only paused the instant she noticed my presence.

"C- Claudia!", she immediately turned to hide her face.

Hmm?

What happened to her?

"Lady Claudia...", the zephain soldier walked up to me, standing at quite a far distance probably out of fear.

(What's your name?)

The soldier flinched a bit at the sudden mental message I sent to him.

"Uh- Jimmy. Ma'am", he forced an expression of bravery.

I smiled, mulling over how 'awkward' his actions were.

(What happened?)

He kept silent.

It seemed as if a sudden pressure had fallen on his shoulders as he oddly found it extremely difficult to answer that question. After a few seconds passed, he gulped in all his fears.

"The enemy released a high energy ultrasound wave at an extremely close range. The thermal effect caused her to lose her face", he spoke with a hint of pain in his emotions. "I managed to amplify her skin shield and it managed to shield the rest of her body from the attack but I..."

(Say no more. There are intruders on the outer circumference of the crater. Revive the old defence systems and prepare to wipe them out)

My message intercepted his speech and quickly brought him back to his former state before drowning in guilt.

"Y- Yes! Lady Claudia!", he stood at attention and then exited the dome to get started.

.

(Yin Yue)

I walked toward her, making sure that I faced her directly. She was horrid!

Jimmy was serious about the fact that she lost her face. The once beautiful maiden now bore a face that resembled that of a melting corpse.

It was unnaturally deformed to the point of no recognition.

The air around both of us was incredibly tense. Yin Yue constantly released a highly uncomfortable bloodlust and it was clear that she was going to deal double the damage to whoever did that to her.

I didn't feel the least bit of remorse though. Arrogant idiots were bound to learn their lesson sooner or later. Unfortunately, hers was an extremely tough one.

(Get prepared. We're leaving the planet)

She didn't respond to any of the messages I sent her.

Was she that run down emotionally?

If that was the case then it was pathetic and I wasn't willing to sit around and watch her sulk.

(The ship's in the central dome. If we leave before you arrive, getting back to the fleet will be your problem)

With that, I left her alone in the dome. However, I laid my back on the doors as voices filled with immense hatred rang on the other side.

My eyes squinted in the realization of something. None of my psychic messages could get to her. It was as if her neural networks were completely shut down. That wasn't Yin Yue. Not in the slightest.

Her brainwave patterns were disrupted, there was no doubt about that but something was completely off.

Whatever was in control was fueling her rage. It was like some sort of parasite and if care wasn't taken, she could've taken the entire dome down.

That was the real reason why I left her alone but I had a change of mind.

I'd use her newly amplified strength to our advantage.

(Sedem's POV)

Vile storms swept up a few minutes ago and vision was nearly impossible!

But we still needed to get Shyza out of that place. Turning back was an absolute no-go!

"Bordron. Merge", I commanded.

Bordron, currently in the form of a tiny sphere promptly spread itself all over my body until I was engulfed in a high-tech battle suit.

"Oh right. I almost forgot", Eterna walked towards Olivia with a black aura surrounding her palm. "We took this from you when we knocked you out however, it doesn't seem to be of any use."

The dark aura dispelled, revealing a sword drenched in total black. It looked familiar.

"Oh my!", Olivia was taken aback. "I can't believe I completely forgot about the legendary sword!"

That was Dzinu!?? Why did it look like that?

[Bordron: Minimal heat signatures detected]

My battle helmet activated, exposing signs of energy pouring out of the moon sword. Was it just low on energy or something?

"Goddess", a bit of sweat ran down the sides of my face. "Take really good care of it."

"Uh- I will", she stammered.

I moved to the edge of the crater, activating a sleek snowboard beneath my feet. "Aight then, I'm moving in!"

I lunged unto the steep slope and sped towards the domes, filled with determination. It was an incredible deep crater and it was probably going to take about ten minutes to get to the bottom considering the opposing force of the snowstorm.

[Bordron: Incoming projectiles detected]

"Hmm?"

My visors spotted approximately three missiles headed in our direction. Heh, so my second guess was right. There was no way our enemies were going to sit in the absence of any piece of technology. Fixing most of the tech in the old site was going to be a priority they would set up.

I just didn't think they were going to bother with the defence system since that would rather be too complicated to deal with. Whoever was in charge of it was probably a genius!

A grin swept across my face, "It should be happening right about now."

Stunning red lights from a flare suddenly sparkled high up in the air. Strangely, the incoming missiles changed their trajectories and flew towards the flare instead.

That 'flare' was a device called an interferer and it caused alterations to wave signals as well as weapon guidance systems. My grin widened. I studied the old domes intensively, making special scans for weapons. I noticed that every single piece of weapon was destroyed and the only ones that had the highest probability of ever being fixed were the missiles since those were usually hidden in underground hatches.

My inner victory was short-lived as bordron relayed another piece of information.

[Bordron: Warning, several objects approach from below]

"What?-"

Just then, countless metallic spikes pierced the snow and into the air. Thankfully, I had made a smooth manoeuvre right before a metallic spike erupted. They were appearing all over the place!!

"Woah! You have GOT to be kidding meeeee!"

I barely missed those spikes my successive evasions got duller by the second.

[Bordron: Approaching Sub-dome N]

"Yes! Fina-"

*CRASH!*

The dome's entrance shattered as we blew straight through the glass frame. and with a loss of balance, I tumbled into a fall.

I stood on both feet with a groan as the snowboard deactivated, taking the form of a small cube that flew into tiny sockets on my heel.

[Bordron: Lasers detected]

"They don't plan on giving me a break huh", I forced a grin. "Well, same here!"

My battle suit began to charge up, granting me the ability to blast through the long tube while dodging every single laser beam. The sheer force that came with my speed caused the surrounding glass to shatter until I finally reached the central dome.

"Shyza!"

There was a large tube in the centre of the dome, trapping Shyza as she floated in a state of unconsciousness.

(I suggest you turn back)

A feminine voice suddenly echoed throughout my mind. Who the hell was it!?

(Who I am doesn't matter to you at this point)

Hidden hatches opened from underground, revealing a group of three battle bots and a woman donned in a red uniform. An elevating platform motioned them to the surface.

Slight rage flared up within me, "What have you done to Shyza!?"

The lady didn't utter a word. She had this kind of majestic aura around her and there was something heated about her entire demeanour.

(I warn only once)

She glared at me, her eyes devoid of all emotion.
