Chapter 35 - The Bull

Huelin City, 15 minutes ago.

Wiping the remaining blood on his teeth, Ninzhe looked down towards the other side of the road.

Due to how unexpected fast he finished his mission, he leaned on the roof, waiting for his twin to see him.

After waiting just a little bit more, he saw Zhenin looking at him.

Raising two fingers on his clean hand and one on his bloodied hand, he sent the message to Zhenin, indicating that he took down target M1.

Zhenin nods back at him.

Pulling back from the edge of the roof, Ninzhe kneeled. He placed his ear close to the floor to try and eavesdrop on the last pair of targets.

The moment his ears touched the floor, he heard a two-note sound. It was the default notification sound for a localized phone, also known as BQ Phones.

This kind of phone uses Bluetooth-Q, which threw away transfer speed in exchange for a wider distance of up to 2km.

The twins did not have one, but their parents have taught them about it.

Seeing how M1 did not leave anything behind, Ninzhe thought of the possibility that M2 is aware of the current situation.

Well, his brother has a plasma gun. What could go wrong?

Temporarily setting aside his worries, he continued eavesdropping on the couple.

"What?!" a loud sound echoed through the walls of the house, shocking Ninzhe. A bad feeling rose in his heart.

"Am I really found out?" Ninzhe pondered as he began to organize the information he has.

Two half-mantis, a half-elephant, and a half-bull. So far, everyone was sighted. There shouldn't be anything wrong with this.

"Could it be?"

Ninzhe opened up his system to read the quest once more.

[Urgent Chain Mission - New People 3 (Final)]

[Forwards one block, then to the left on the 24th street then right on the 7th. Take revenge for the four half-lions. According to their memories, their assailants did not suffer any injuries, so take care. Do not kill. If things got desperate, at least drop their blood into the stone.]

[Enemy List: one hu-elephant, one hu-bull, two hu-mantis.]

[Chain Mission Rewards: Entry to a training ground in my kingdom.]

[Mission Failure: Death]

According to the half-lions' memories?

Shit.

Realizing that their intel is lacking at the moment. Ninzhe decisively set out towards the door to enter the house.

If they had to use such a loud notification sound, it could only mean that the sender is further away. Else, if they knew they were being assaulted, who would use such noisy measures to warn others.

Where's the fifth target? Could there be more?

Finding no answers in his mind, instead of running down the stairs, Ninzhe slithered. Compared to walking, slithering is much more silent.

"Since the fifth member is far away, there might be a chance that they'll regroup. I need to end this quick."

After climbing a set of stairs, he reached an open the door to a hallway. Inside the hall are paintings, mirrors, and a blue carpet that covered the entire ground.

Because of this, Ninzhe slithered a little slower. The rustling in the carpet may be heard by the couple with the correct tool.

If they have something like a BQ Phone, something like a sonar amplifier isn't too far off.

Slowing down everything, including his breath, Ninzhe reached the door where he estimates that the couple is currently in.

Placing his ear close to the door, he could only hear mumbles and whispers without any helpful information.

No choice. Any longer just increases the danger levels.

Opening the door with his foot, Ninzhe had his eyes peeking inside.

There he saw a half-elephant standing as he was waiting for the half-bull in bed reading the messages.

Looking at the half-elephant, Ninzhe couldn't help but be impressed. The elephant's thick arms and legs couldn't be compared to the large appendage hanging in the middle.

"What a strong looking nose trunk," Ninzhe thought.

With how the elephant looks, he could tell that his biggest strength is holding down his foe as he chokes them with his trunk.

Not to mention, the combat gear he was wearing was definitely at a higher class than what Ninzhe is currently wearing.

*ZING ZING*

Another message was received by the half-bull and was immediately alerted. Grabbing the edge of the bed, the half-bull lifted himself and spun in the air. As the half-bull landed on the ground, he immediately charged towards Ninzhe with his head lowered like an actual bull.

The half-elephant grabbed the closest weapon he could find, which is a celaphene alloy short sword. Celaphene alloy is a step weaker than the stellix material that Ninzhe used. Even so, with the half-elephant's strength, the result of a collision might live Ninzhe unwilling.

Ninzhe didn't just stay on the ground. When the bull was two meters away from him, he jumped up.

Calculating the speed of the charge, Ninzhe jumped at the right moment where the half-bull's head is directly below him.

Before Ninzhe could stab his dagger, the charging half-bull used his charging momentum to jump on four.

It was unknown to Ninzhe if his stellix dagger is stronger than the half-bull's horn. One thing is for sure is that he never intended to fight these.

He's here for the kill.

Compressing himself in-between the horns, Ninzhe pointed his dagger down.

Borrowing his own force for Ninzhe to pierce his head? Not a chance.

The half-bull whipped his tail towards Ninzhe. What he didn't realize before was the tail isn't just a normal bull's tail. At the end of the long tail is a stinger.

This time, no matter how fast he usually is, the whip-like tail hits him and is stung on the left side of the torso.

His muscles did not even get to move before getting hit, it was just that fast.

Thankfully, the scorpion bloodline of the half-bull was too weak to even contain any kind of toxin. Besides a long lash and a puncture, Ninzhe was safe.

Still, even with such a minor injury, Ninzhe became aware of how strong the half-bull is as the whipping tail basically bypassed his armor and hit him directly.

Usually, those who are stung by his stinger would panic, losing the balance and all. Looking at the half-snake in front of him who's only gritting his teeth while his dagger remained steadfast coming for his head, the half-bull was the one who panicked instead.

Unable to change his movement, his overconfidence led him to his immediate demise.

When the blade pierced the half-bull's skin without resistance, the half-elephant currently watching on the side with a smile froze.

He, too, was overconfident for the bull as he's seen him fight like this before.

Acting like a complete brute, then showing his smarts at the instant the enemy becomes proud. The half-bull had taken down quite a lot of prey this way.

The repeated success of the trick caused them to finally fuck up at this moment.

What they did not know is that Ninzhe had his eyes set on a display in front of him that only he could see.

[Attack determined to be non-fatal. No toxins undetected, no venom undetected. The host can withstand this attack.]

Actually, Ninzhe would've have panicked too. He knew how terrible toxins are due to how his parents fought a half-worm, half-spider that has a toxin that makes blood flow that can lead to high blood pressure and all of its accompanying side effects.

Along with his parents were three other bipedal creatures. One male got stung and immediately felt his blood boil. Besides the searing pain on the stung area, he felt like he was fine. Ten seconds later, he felt something wrong. His heart was beating fast, every step causes vertigo, and even his member was erect.

Another ten seconds had passed, and his head, chest, and genitalia burst like a water balloon. For the seven-year-old boy back then, it was basically traumatic.

Immediately, he prayed for Jack's assistance and was calmed instantly.

Still, things did not end with the bull's death.

When the dagger felt like it hit the skeleton, Ninzhe stopped exerting force.

Dropping down, the half-bull was paralyzed. Ninzhe landed on top of the bull and pulled out the dagger. With his other hand, he dipped the stone on the ring, and the half-bull disappeared.

This left the currently frozen half-elephant to shudder even more.

Before Ninzhe could move to his other target, something happened outside.

*WHOOM*

A red light flashed through the window from the winter looking street. Ninzhe shuddered in worry.
