Kurama was safely transferred from Uzumaki Mito to Uzumaki Kushina. Kushina felt extremely regretful that she had indirectly killed Uzumaki Mito. She didn't know how she should face Araki.
Kushina had seen first hand just how close he was to his grandma. Perhaps he might hate her after this. However, she shook her head after that thought. She wasn't that weak. She still remembered Mito-sama's last words, she must take care of him from now.
She remembered that he was really emotional. There was a chance he went somewhere just to beat himself up for this. She had to find him fast, but how?
At that moment, she heard a voice resounding in her mind. It was the sound of a cheerful laugher.
A dead look appeared in her eyes as her soul seemed to spirit away… No, maybe enter her mental consciousness.
When she reached the interior of her mindscape. She noticed that it was seemingly barren land. It seemed to be made of soil devoid of nutrients to grow anything. Even the cracks had appeared on the ground.
However, this wasn't the thing which really caught her attention. She saw a gigantic fox, large enough to surmount the Hokage Mountains stretching its limbs.
The fear was visible through her eyes. She remembered… This was the Demonic Nine-Tailed Fox she was holding in her belly. It would kill her.
Just as this thought entered her mind, she looked around, wanting to take cover.
Kurama noticed the flustered look on his jailor's face and was amused. He said with an evil laugh that sent shivers down Kushina's spine, "Kukukuku… For you to come here without even restraining me. It seems you really want me to take a bite of you, my jailor!" He said the word jailor with a growl.
These words froze Kushina for some seconds, and she didn't move from her spot. Kurama actually found this pretty funny. Maybe he could scare this jailor now and then…
However, Kushina wasn't one to let fear cloud rule her mind for long. She remembered Mito-sama's and Araki's words that Kyuubi wouldn't hurt her. Deciding to trust her predecessor, she took a deep breath in and calmed down.
Turning towards the Gigantic Demonic Fox, she shouted aloud, "OII BAKA FOX! Why did you bring me here?! Let me leave! I have to find Araki!"
Kurama was a little surprised when he saw Kushina pointing her finger at him with the accusation that he brought her here.
He blankly stared at her for some seconds, wondering just what she meant. Why would he bring a brat here? Was his head kicked by that Tanuki? No, wait… Did she hear him laugh in delight at that moment?
He started thinking 'I see… That Mito connected my voice to Kushina's thoughts. With her hearing another voice in her head, her unconscious mind brought her here to figure out the reason. I guess I need to concentrate a little to make sure she doesn't hear me. Maybe masking my voice with chakra would work.'
Now… The only thing that remained was testing it out. Kurama opened his mouth and spoke out loud, "YOU HUMANS! GO AND DIE!" He had masked these words with his chakra, and sure enough, Kushina didn't hear a single sound leaking from his throat.
She was instead wondering if this fox was going mad. She was a little regretful and started thinking 'Grandma Mito died because of this stupid fox?'
If Kurama could hear her words right now, he would have smashed the promise with Araki and straight away attacked Kushina. Fortunately for Kushina, he couldn't hear her.
"I didn't bring you here, brat. But wait… You want to find Araki? Is he not with you? Where is he?" Kurama asked in confusion. He didn't understand just where the boy would be if not at the side of this young girl who had become his jailor.
"I don't know." Kushina unconsciously answered Kurama's question. But, she soon realised that she was talking with the demonic fox. She shouldn't tell him about Araki. What if the Kyuubi hurts him?
"Hmm… That could be an issue." Kurama said while closing his eyes for some moments. He was trying to access Kushina's senses.
As he looked at the outside world, he was somehow relieved. It seemed that Mito hadn't lied to him.
Very well, since she was willing to honour her side of the deal, Kurama wouldn't embarrass himself.
He opened his eyes and said to Kushina, "Alright then, go away brat! This is your mindscape. You can leave as long as you wish for it. When your consciousness returns to your body, you will have my ability to sense negative emotions. Find Araki with it."
"Huh? What?" Kushina didn't think twice about willing herself to return to the real world. Who wanted to spend time with a furry fox? Definitely not her!
As she returns to the real world, she looked around and saw the ladies taking Mito-sama's corpse to the Senju Ancestral Ground where she was going to be buried. Kushina had been the daughter of the Uzumaki Clan Head and understood what this signified.
Araki couldn't miss this.
She immediately ran out of the Mansion. Deciding to trust that stupid fox this once, she tried to sense her surroundings.
Surprisingly, she really could feel something. She turned her distance to a particular distance and felt intense burning hatred from that direction. No… It wasn't just hatred. She could sense a feeling of helplessness as well.
Unconsciously, Kushina knew that this was none other than Araki. Not wasting any time, she immediately ran towards the direction.
There she saw it… She saw the bloodied hands of Araki and how he was punching a large tree. It was like he kept punching the tree in frustration until his bones had started to crack.
Even Kurama inside of Kushina's body was surprised to see Araki in such a state. He couldn't help but sigh out while thinking 'So… This is what happened to that bright child when he knows of the truth? So that was just one side of the coin. This is his other side…'
As if realising that Kushina had come, Araki turned around. He hid his hand behind his body and said with a forced smile, "Looks like the Kurama is with you, Kushina-chan."
He knew he was late. Kushina had already seen him like that. But, still, he tried to give her a smile.
However, before he realised it, he found himself hugging Kushina. As he was hugging Kushina, he heard her mutter tearfully, "I am sorry. I am sorry."
A bitter smile appeared on his lips as he slowly caressed the back of her head. His hands went over her red hairs which were incredibly silky now that he touched them.
With Kushina in his arms, he slowly started to calm down.
