Chapter 18 - Kenjutsu Training

Araki had a faint suspicion that Uzumaki Hishin was lying. It was probably Uzumaki Hishin didn't wish to involve the two kids in front of him in this war which could destroy the Uzumaki Village.

He decided to be straightforward, "Uncle Hishin, Kushina and I will live in the village. We can live in this village for only 3 months. In this time, if the village is attacked, we will fight to protect it."

"If it is indeed attacked by the 3 Great Nations of Kiri, Kumo, and Iwa, what can you do about it? You both are just kids. Uzushio is not so weak that it requires the help of kids from outside the village." Uzumaki Hishin's voice was incredibly prideful as he stated that while looking in Araki's eyes.

"My grandmother asked me to protect Uzumaki Village. So, I won't allow it to be destroyed!" Araki said with a resolute look in his eyes.

"Where is Mito-sama? How could she allow you to come here?" Uzumaki Hishin asked Araki and Kushina.

Kushina lowered her head and said, "Grandma Mito transferred that big fox to me and died… She was buried in the early morning." She really felt bad when she remembered that scene.

At this time, Araki stated with a determined voice, "We have Kurama with us, and if the entire Uzumaki Village assists us, we can even defeat the Three Great Villages army!"

"Kurama? Who is he?" Uzumaki Hishin showed off a confused expression as he didn't know anyone by the name of Kurama.

"Kurama is the name of Kyuubi who had been sealed in Kushina. He would definitely help out if I ask him." Araki says with complete confidence in Kurama.

Inside of Kushina, Kurama let out a snort and thought 'I don't really want to help this clan live. Better for me if it is destroyed…'

However, Kurama also knew that if the kid found out that he wouldn't assist him, that kid would still charge at the front lines with his insignificant power. He couldn't allow this kid to die…

Kushina also said at this time, "I will protect Uzushio as well!" She had a stubborn look in her eyes.

Uzumaki Hishin let out a breath and says, "Alright, that is enough. We will think of this when the time comes. For now, you are Uzushio's guests. Roam around the village and do what you want."

A bright look appeared on Kushina's face. She was really getting tired with all that gloomy talk. This was precisely what she wanted. She grabbed hold of Araki's hand and led him away.

Uzumaki Hishin let out a sigh thinking 'Kyuubi huh? Mito-sama isn't here anymore. Does Senju Araki plan on releasing the Kyuubi to combat against the Three Great Villages. Although we would win this battle, the Konoha's reaction would be unpredictable. With their deposition, they wouldn't be delighted to find out their Jinchuirki helping out another village.

Moreover, even if the Uzumaki Village can avoid destruction in this generation, but after some years, these Three Great Villages could once again attack Uzushio… Destroying the Three Great Villages army will not be the solution. I guess I need to prepare myself.'

He didn't explain this to Araki and Kushina.

And just like that, for the next month, Araki and Kushina remained in Uzushio.

Araki had seen all of Uzushio by now. He had met up with many Uzumaki clan members and found that they seemed to have a short fuse just like Kushina. They all seemed to have a very likeable personality and looked forward to helping anyone they could.

The village was quite different from Konoha where he could feel that the people kept a mask of virtuousness, honesty and integrity. If even them a chance, they wouldn't think twice before committing a wicked deed. This wasn't the case in Uzushio. He could feel a genuine intent to help behind their voice.

Kushina was also a lot happier when she was beside her clan members. Araki didn't want her to part from these Clan Members.

With that, he started thinking of a plan to keep her united with the Uzumaki Clan Members. Just what should he do?

While he was thinking of this, he also decided to start learning the Jutsus written in his grandpa's scroll. Although he didn't have the immense chakra to perform them, he could still learn the hand signs and learn the flow of chakra.

Meanwhile, he asked for a Kenjutsu Instructor from Uzumaki Hishin. Not wishing to disappoint Araki, Uzumaki Hishin appointed one of the best Kenjutsu users to him.

There was a prideful look in his eyes as he gazed at Araki. Although he had been ordered by the Village Head to train Araki, he still showed some reluctance.

It wasn't just because he looked down on Araki. It was because he found it incredibly difficult to teach. His methods have been called quite ruthless by the other members of the clan, so even though he had one of the most exceptional skill, he didn't have any confidence in training Araki.

His methods didn't include the step by step process of showing the Uzumaki Kenjutsu Style. Instead, it was to hand over a wooden sword to Araki and ask him to charge at himself. He trained while he was fighting…

However, there were none of the children in the Uzushio who could take his training. After a week or so of training, they would switch instructors.

Meanwhile, Araki wished to learn the Uzumaki Kenjutsu Style in the shortest time. For the first time in his life, he really wished to have strength. He had a feeling that if he was stronger, he could have saved his grandma.

It was his lack of strength which limited his abilities!

It was after his request of learning the Uzumaki Kenjutsu Style as soon as possible did Uzumaki Hishin arrange Uzumaki Takuya as his instructor. Though he wasn't sure if Araki would be able to preserve, he decided to think of this matter a week later.

Araki knew he was assigned to an eccentric instructor. He held the wooden sword tightly, and each day, he charged at Uzumaki Takuya with his entire strength as if he was possessed!

The desire to gain power seemed to give him boundless determination to charge at Uzumaki Takuya. He never thought of anything while charging at Uzumaki Takuya. The only thing that remained in his mind was to get stronger! FAR STRONGER!

Araki didn't know, but Uzumaki Takuya was utterly shocked by Araki. Why so? Because each day, he would be forced to fight for a long time every single day.

Never in his life had he trained a disciple who could even tire him out. Even though he liked to teach while sparring… Sparring for 16 or so hours wasn't in his plans.

Moreover, that too for a whole week with little time to rest, he wasn't distressed at teaching Araki, though. He was excited! Such a hard-working and diligent student was what he always wanted! The Stubborn Uzumaki Pride within him seemed to force him to work even harder than Araki!

It further excited him to no end as he felt that his Kenjutsu skill which had peaked a few years ago started to advance once again. He was now approaching the Village Head's Skill Level!
