After 2 years Cathelyn spent running the bistro. She decided to take part time job in the academe being a culinary instructor.
She received an invitation to teach four hours a day every Mondays and Wednesdays. This is just taking a small break away time in a week from the busy bistro.
She was able to sense new adrenalin in this field and a sense of fulfillment was felt in an instant seeing new breed of chefs trying to excel in their field.
"Good morning class! I am Ms. Cathelyn Hart your new instructor for Asian Cuisine you can call me Ms. Hart or Chef Cath".
"Good morning Chef!" The class said in unison. Introduction per student was in place.
Having Filipino blood I am no stranger to Asian Delicacies. I myself was trained by my mom and grandmother in our own home at Massachusetts. And taught me their take away knowledge way back in the Philippines
I don't look like Asian because my Dad is pure American and Mom is half American half Filipina herself getting the Mestiza features of my grandma. But our roots having a Filipino blood is observed. We were quite hospitable.
I began the introduction of the modules for this subject and as expected my class is in awe with the learnings they will endure for this semester.
My class is basically small I just have a total of 15 students 10 male and 5 female. It'll be easier for me to monitor their individual progress in this whole semester. I too was excited...
In the lounge where faculty spends their time while waiting for their next class I met Shelley she is also an instructor for Tourism Management. She is a very jolly person and she greets every person in the hall.
"Hi you are new here right? Am Shelley White and you are?"...
Cathelyn Hart I replied almost whispering...
"Oh my God!!!! You mean The Chef Cathelyn of The Linden Hotel Bistro???" Her jaw literally drop in amusement.
"Ah yes I guess that's me"...
"Am a fan!"she flustered.
Me being somewhat introvert doesn't like too much attention that I chose to run inside the kitchen. Even in my early years in the field am not into being a celebrity chef despite the awards and recognition I got over the years. I barely agree with magazine interviews.
Being an instructor is new to me though I train newly hired crew in the bistro...
Giving lectures is somehow boring but I intend to change the teaching style my students usually got from the traditional.
Someone knocked on the door and Shelley opened it. A petite girl entered and looked at me.
Hi Chef, Ms. Shelley Good Morning! am Layla Dean Hobbs assistant".
" Hmmm... Hi!" We answered her in unison.
"Well am here to tell you Chef your presence is requested in the office of Dean Hobbs hope you have a minute".
"Yeah sure!" I quickly responded my next class will be in 30 minutes. I then followed her in the office.
Inside the Dean's Office...
"Glad you came Chef! Dean Hobbs greeting.
" The pleasure is mine". I said shyly.
"Well dear please have a sit" .
I sat in front of her desk...
"Can I offer you anything? Coffee, tea juice?" She said.
"Coffee is fine Dean" ... Smilling at her.
"Layla,!, would you get us 2 cups of coffee here thank you" .... She ordered her assistant.
"So chef how was your first day? How do you find our school so far?" She asked...
I am fidgeting my fingers in my lap while I answered her. "Well it's good am overwhelmed with the warm welcome of my new students am looking forward to their progress as days go by... Am glad I can share my skills wuth with them" ...
"That's good to hear I hope you enjoy your stay here with us. It is a great honor for us to have a renowned Chef on board honing our future chefs". She said with admiration...
Layla came to hand us our coffee I knod at her saying thank you she smiled and step out of the office.
After several minutes our small chit chat ended I was now ready to enter my next class...
Same as my earlier class I introduced myself and had them introduced themselves...
The session ended fast amd gave them their research for our next meeting's discussion.
I went to the Bistro to get my shift started.
Fortunate enough the school was just a few blocks from the bistro...I still have enough time to rest before I start my shift...
After the incident with Mr. Stevenson my adrenalin inside the bistro was not the same as before...
"Hi Cath! How's your day?" Patricia greeted me once I entered our locker room. I got to change my teaching attire to my bistro Chefs jacket. I don't wear my michelin star jacket yet in my class since we are not yet immersed in culinary exercises.
"Am good I answered her".
"Well you don't seem to be good after that "hot billionare incident? " she said annoyingly.
"No it's not that Patty, maybe am just tired since I had my first day teaching. " I replied.
" I hope you are really ok". she said flustering her sad face. She then walk inside the dining hall.
Same as the other nights the bistro is full pack with reservations. Saturday night came and tomorrow is my long awaited off from work both in school and in the Bistro.
Charles and Patricia came to me asking if I can join them with the crew for a few drinks the bar accross the street.
"Come on Cath! Let's have some chillin:." Patty telling me while clinging in my arms...
"Alright. but I just will take a bottle or two. I Said....
We entered the bar, my crew, Charles and the other wait staff of the bistro run into the table near the stage... I guess there is a band that will play live tonight...
