Roberts P. O. V
I have a gig tonight at Stereo 27.... My bandmates and I were getting ready for tonight's jam.
It is my passion and it makes me happy and free from stress...
"Dude! The bar is now jam packed!!! will be up in 15 mins." Sam our vocalist notified us.
"This will be exciting!" George murmured as he gets his drumsticks from his case.
"It's Showtime" Sam shouted as we enter the stage.
Our band is into slow rock and soul... Sam's vocals is quite a variety it's not hard for us to jam any type of genre.
"Sound check, sound check" drums beating and I strumming my guitar for sound testing...
The crowd starting to clap and yell as we test our sounds...
Then we started playing... First song was from Bon Jovi...
"Shot through the heart And you're to blame
Darlin', you give love a bad name...
An angel's smile is what you sell
You promise me heaven, then put me through hell Chains of love got a hold on me
When passion's a prison, you can't break free
Oh, you're a loaded gun, yeah Oh, there's nowhere to run No one can save me
The damage is done...
The crowd yelling wild !!! Shot to the heart and you're to blame Darlin you give love....
As the instrumental starts I faced the audience strumming my guitar loudly....
Ladies in the front goes wild waving their glasses flushing their sexy bodies in front of us...
But I noticed a familiar face in one of the tables infront that hooked my eyes the entire song... The chef!!!!
I smiled from ear to ear and played my guitar proudly as I look at her.
She seems not hooked, but still I played my parts well.... The crowd still yelling singing the song with us...
I went back on the other side of the stage as we play the remaining songs for our first set... After our tenth song we had a break we get off the stage....
Stereo 27 has a huge crowd since it serves wide variety of food, bar and ofcourse good music. One of best in New York I guess.
I went out the back stage to see if it's really the chef I saw a while ago.
Looking around I saw some familiar faces from the bistro but I can't see the person whom am looking for.
Then George called me with a questioning look.
"Hey Man!" looking for someone???"
I fixed my knitted brows as I replied to him" "No i just thought I saw somebody I used to know. " I walked with him back to grab a beer in the bar.
As I gulp my beer am still filtering the faces in the bar. In the hopes that I could see her.
Since the crowd was too thick, I failed...
It's time to go on our next set. And as usual this set has audience participation we had our open mic for about two to three audiences...
Saw the papers start passing infront containing some song requests and the names of our jammers...
We played first Versace on the Floor by Bruno Mars before we started the jamming session...
Sensual as it is, drunk ladies clunging their hands in the neck of their partners dancing as if there is no one is watching...
The jamming started....
The first jammer sang Bob Marley's No women no cry, while the second jammer sang Heaven by Bryan Adams...
"And finally our last jammer" Sam announced, "whoah it's finally a woman! She will singing Hearts' Alone" the crowed yelled and clap loudly. May we call on our stage Ms. Patricia! Sam introduced.
The bistro's table yells wildly as Patricia head herself in the stage...
"Hi"... Patricia greeted everyone in the stage...
She is about to say something...
"ahem ahem... She cough lightly. Ladies and Gentlemen" am Patty! But am not the one who will sing infront of you tonight Lemme call on our very own Cathelyn Hart!!! Crowd is cheering and clapping in suspense...
The lady who was called was in shock... She was brought up in the stage clueless of what's happening... Patricia assisted her up as the band starts to strum the song Alone...
"Everybody give her a warm of applause" Sam announced in the mic as he gives the beautiful lady the floor...
I was shocked as she was but I am more ammused of how she will hit this song as it is one of the songs with the highest notes...
Her voice is kinda shaky at first but while the music goes on she find her comfort and sings it out loud...
I too enjoyed playing hearing her sing...
"Til now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone...
Hitting the highest note in the song is also the part that I will play the guitar solo... I stood beside her before she hits the note...
Alone!!!... Ahahaha.... Till now....
The crowd cheering tremendously as she belted way, way good as a professional...
I am truly amazed by her.....the song was finished. She is now getting off the stage shyly....
She returned to their table as she gulp her glass of Martini. Her friends clapping and praising her.
We continued our line up for the second set.
It's already 11:30pm and our last set will start in 30 minutes. I grab a quick bite of sandwich and a beer...
Heard George and Sam talking about the last jammer.
"Did you see her ass God it's so big... So sexy... What's her name again??? Catherine, Katrina, something? George asks confusingly.
"Oh well she's a Goddess.." plus her voice Damn it!. Not everybody can sing as good as her I wonder if she is a professional but I just have seen her now. I can break all my eggs just to have her. " Sam stated with an exhilarating tone.
Bruno our keyboardist just laughing with them making no comments.
"Well. Well. Well what about our sexy guitarist here? what's your thought about that Chic?"I saw how you looked at her. George asked wuth a devious look.
"She's the one I've been looking for after our first set." I replied.
"But I didn't get her name before. And I guess our first encounter was a disaster I've insulted her accidentally." I added.
"You're screwed man!" Sam uttered in disgust.
"Yeah I know"...
Our last set is now ongoing.... I was planning to go after her after this gig. But when I set my foot in the stage their table was already replaced by new set of audience.
She already left....
I went home a little bit disturbed. Her face still flashing in my mind her singing voice keeps playing on and on.... I would like to hear her sing again. I would love to see her again...
