Chapter 2 - Ch 2 The World of Enos

The sky was grey, and the wind roared ferociously. Lucus walked out of the alleyway and back onto the street. "System, brief me on this world." "Gladly host. This is the world of Enos. There are five continents that vary in size and shape. We are on the continent of Fialiea in the elven Kingdom of Etrye. King Titus of the House of Limovau rules Etrye." Lucus nodded as he continued walking, ignoring all the strange sights on the street.

"Right now, Host is in the coastal port city of Rellune, ruled by Baron Gralis Herrona 'the brute.' This city is known for its natural port, giving it a huge trade advantage. Lucus followed along with the system, listening to its every word.

After the system finished its spiel about the current state of things in Enos, It gave Lucus his first mission. "Host, your first mission, if you choose to accept it, is to travel onwards out of Rellune and to the designated farm, and await further instruction. Do you accept." "I do." said Lucus immediately.

It didn't take long for Lucus to find his way out of the city. Rellune was a very large town, with over 200,000 people, it's population couldn't be matched by any other city in the area. Of course, this was due to the influx of goods that constantly made its way into the city. Rellune was the Jewel of Etrye after all.

Lucus walked out of the city gates and was greeted with large open fields with woodlands farther back. There were few buildings sprinkled here and there throughout the fields. People and strange mythical beasts worked the fields. They grew strange purple crops that looked pleasing to the eye. The people moving in and out of the gate carried with them goods Lucus had never seen before. A lizard man carried a dead, two tongued animal on his back as he walked into the town.

Of course, Lucus was scared shitless. He had never seen such beings before. He had never seen people fly without the use of technology. This most certainly was a fantasy world. Lucus stumbled back, as he desperately tried to calm himself. Although he had already gotten used to the fact that he was in another world, he was still freaked out by the oddities of this world.

'Calm down Lucus, just keep walking until you find the farm.' he thought.

Why the system had him go to one farm in particular, he didn't know. Lucus thought that any place would do. He would sleep back in the alley if he had to, but he would only do that as a last resort.

Most of the farms had shabby buildings. There were a few that had well put together buildings, but those ranged few and far between. The farm Lucus was supposed to go to was built much better. This farm obviously made much more when compared to the rest. Lucus understood why they made so much more immediately. Not only did they have more land, their crops seemed to be better in quality when compared with crops from other farms.

On their farm, stood a sturdy barn, a massive cottage type house, and what seemed to be a wooden silo. It looked to be your average farm. "Congrats host, you found the right farm. Now knock on the door and ask if you can sleep in the barn."

Lucus was confused, 'No one in their right mind would let a complete stranger sleep in their house.' he thought. "Right host, but just trust the system." Lucus sighed. He had no choice, he wanted to accomplish his first mission so he could earn credits. With credits, literally nothing could stand in his way. He could become an unstoppable force that not even the superpowers of this world could rival.

"Okay. fine, but don't expect this to work, system." Lucus said with a sigh. "Does the host have no faith. Trust the system." Lucus followed the system's commands and walked up to the cottage door and knocked on it twice. A big burly man with long brown hair and a sharp jawline answered the door. "Yes?" his voice said with a deep rumble. Lucus coughed and said, "Hello, I have no place of residence, and I was hoping I could stay in your barn. I am prepared to offer my services in exchange." The man looked at Lucus with a confused expression. "You want to sleep in my barn? Why?" Lucus was troubled, he didn't have an answer. The system was the one who told him to come to this farm. "Host, repeat after me."

"Because your barn looked the warmest." The big burly man laughed, "Of course son, you can stay. I'm never one to turn down a person in need. My name is Nilis Inarie, but you can call me Nilis. What might your name be?" "Lucus Wheaton, sir." "Well Lucus, why don't you come inside and I can introduce you to my family." Lucus nodded and followed Nilis inside.

"Congrats host, you have successfully achieved your first mission. Your reward is 1000 credits and 20 exp. Would you like to set your next mission now?" 'Not yet.' thought Lucus.

"Children!" shouted Nilis as he walked through the door. Soon, eight people came into the cozy living space and looked at their father. "Yes father?" said the tallest one who looked to be about 21. "We have a guest. Mister Lucus will be staying with us tonight. Introduce yourselves." The oldest one spoke first, "Mr. Lucus, we are happy you are here. I am Audlaeril, father's eldest son. I am also 18" "I am Havelith, father's 2nd born, and 2nd oldest son. I happen to be 17" "I am Rosaleia, father's eldest daughter, and 3rd born. I am also 17." Rosaleia paused for a second before looking at the next person in line. "This is Lesmae, she's mute. She is the father's 2nd oldest daughter and 4th born, she is 16." Lucus nodded as he now understood why Rosaleia had to speak for Lesmae.

The next person in line was absolutely breathtaking. Lucus was absolutely blown away by her beauty. "I am Herlicia, I am also 16." Lucus smiled at her, and tried not to look at her for too long.

The Next three kids were named Ismenlaevar who was the youngest girl. She was 15. The next two were boys who also happened to be twins. Their names were Davtumil and Belsan. They were 13.

"It is very nice to meet you all. I am Lucus Wheaton. By the grace of your father I am allowed to stay here tonight." Nilis smiled, "Rosaleia, Lesmae, and Herlicia, go prepare dinner. And make one extra plate." Nilis looked at Lucus, "Lucus, I can't allow you to sleep in the barn, let me show you to your room.

Lucus and Nilis walked upstairs and into a small, cozy bedroom. It had wooden walls and a nice animal fur carpet. The bed had a wooden frame and was stuffed with hay and on top sat two hay filled pillows. The whole room was very luxurious.

"Thank you sir," said Lucus, "You've done too much for me." "Nonsense. You'll pay me back with your labour. I was looking for someone to help me and the boys out on the farm. I'll wake you up bright and early tomorrow." Lucus nodded and Nilis left him to get settled. "Host, next time, follow my instructions, and you won't end up in a situation like this." "Okay, you're right, next time I'll try to have more faith in the system." "Thank you host. By the way, would you like to browse the shop now?" "Yes. I'm really excited to see what I can buy." A transparent interface appeared in front of Lucus, and he started to look at all the wonderful things he could buy in the shop. "Whoa, I can buy an assault rifle!" "That's right host, the shop has anything and everything the host could ever dream of."

Lucus was ecstatic. He bought one AR-15 for 50 credits, and 50 units of ammo for another 50 credits. He also bought a phone that claimed to be able to access the internet from his old world and have a full map of the current world for 800 credits. Leaving him with 100 credits which he decided to save.

'What a haul.' he thought. "System, I'm ready to enter my next goal."
