Aleck winced on the bed, his head thrashing on either side of the pillow. With the great mana bursting from within him, it was obvious from the hurt on his face that he couldn't contain it.
"Even with the help of the tonic—" Professor Grisham looked at the empty bottle next to him on the side table. "—it did not help the control of Aleck's power. What is he?"
Soon after, he heard the door of the room open. With him standing up and turning his body to look at him, he was relieved to see Zann and the others, his eyesight on the Lightning Familiar.
"Professor Irving," he greeted him, urgency in the tone of his voice. "I tried the best I could but as I know from afar, you could already sense the burst of mana from the young familiar."
"Irving did," he answered, his hands on the side balling into tight fists. "Zann has told me that you have used a tonic for control but it seems it was futile?"
"I'm disappointed to admit, but yes."
