Aranea still carried the little boy in her arms, the little boy clinging on to her as his arms were still wrapped around her shoulders.
As she walked towards the waterfalls near the village and sat down on the big rock, Aranea patted the little boy's back, soothing him.
"There, there." Aranea put him down beside her, her hand still on his back. "Are you alright?"
The little boy just nodded. Aranea then smiled, reaching out to his face to wipe his cheeks with her hands.
"You were amazing," she commented, the little boy looking at her with a little surprise in his eyes. "You did well fighting against your dad the moment you felt the threat."
The little boy felt warmth in his heart. He couldn't believe that he was being complimented by a stranger, when he was looking for acceptance from his dad.
