"Suits you well," he muttered. "For all the pain you're about to cause me and the dinner I'm sure I'd love sitting through. I already can't wait."
"Your sarcasm's at its peak today," I commented, crossing my legs on the sofa, hugging a pillow to my chest, as I stared in delight at the newfound sparkle in Knight's eyes. Those eyes had been cold for far, far too long. I was glad we got along even now. "I hope all's well."
"Oh, it is. For now," he said dryly and waved his sensuous fingers as if to tell me to go on with the story I was previously telling. "So, what did she say? My oh-so-amazing-potential-wife?"
