The queen felt the reys of the burning sun on her eyes as she slowly opened them, ready to greet her rabbit with a smile.. though that smile quickly faded once she realised the rabbit was no where to be seen. No need to worry, she couldn't have gotten very far.
She grabbed her black fitted dress and began walking the halls asking every servant and demon if they had seen a rabbit run by but every time she just got a shake of the head, this was becoming infuriating and she was becoming impatient. Eventually she arrived at the vined doors and greeted the guards, she let them bask in her presence, compliment her and put her on a pedestal before she once again turned emotionless
"Have you seen a rabbit?" the two demons stiffened and stare at eachother, the queen tapped her hoof impatiently waiting for a response from either of the men but telling by their posture, they definitely saw her.
"Where. Is. She?" The queen asked, her voice deepening with every word which had the two guards shaking, their queen was known to be unforgiving if someone messed up, no matter how small..
"Sh-she got out?" One of the guards managed to stutter out, what a stupid lie no one can get passed these vines unless they know the special pattern and her rabbit certainly did not know it.
"She got out? Hmm what a predicament, oh well I supposed things happen." The guards were quick to agree with their queen but in the blink of an eye her claws were in their necks, not enough to kill them, her being the only one who can make another demon perish, but enough to scare them into giving her the truth.
"How dare you lie to your queen, the punishment will be severe when I return. Now I will ask one more time, where is she!?" By the time she was finished talking the guards were clawing at her grip trying to get out of the hold but to no avail, she wasn't the queen for nothing after all. Finally, she got an answer.
"We.. didnt see the direction she.. went but.. she left the land" so, shes made her way back home? Clever little bunny tricking her guards. She let the two men fall to the ground in gasping coughs as she furiously drew the pattern into the vines waiting impatiently for them to untangle themselves, her temper was through the roof and the rabbit had gone too far this time.
She stormed out the doors and burst the gate open and stood in silence trying to catch the rabbits scent. Bingo. She took off as fast as a jet and began following the trail the rabbit had left her, once she got her hands on that girl she would know to never defy her again, she was going to learn.
"You lost your slave?"
"Hilarious!"
"Just kill her, she's been so annoying anyway"
The queen rolled her eyes as she heard death and the sins echo through their link No one gets to decide this rabbits death day but her. Eventually she reached the small village of the rabbit people, they all turned to her in horror, clearly they knew who she was which was strange as Chara did not. They scattered into their homes and slamming their doors shut, how rude.
She began knocking on every door asking for a Chara but they were too scared to respond, eventually she gave up the nice treatment and grabbed one of the rabbits out of their home, her eyes began to glow a hypnotizing red and one last time she asked the rabbit where Chara was, they told her she was in the house right at the end. Pleased with the answer the queen dropped her the rabbit and ran off to the end of the village, reaching a small home where a tall rabbit with eyes the same as Chara's but more wise who was hanging rags on a line.
She approached the creature carefully with her hands raised to show she meant no harm and it showed no fear as the queen approached, what a brave little thing. As she stood a few inches above her they locked eyes, no one said anything for what felt like forever, the queen was getting a sense of deja vu. Suddenly the woman spoke, her voice soft like silk. "Can I help you, your majesty?" She knew who she was yet held no fear, this impressed the queen, maybe she could bring this one too for a servant. "I am looking for a rabbit named Chara, she seems to have disappeared and I need her back by my side, I am told she lives here."
Her eyes filled with anger as she seemed to go into defense mode, looking like she was ready to fight.
"You can't have her! She's my baby! Mine!" Hmm, so this was the mother, this is why she was so eager to return.
"How about a deal? Give me the rabbit and you can come too, I'll offer you protection and safety and you can... grow a garden just outside the palace gates or do whatever rabbits do."
The older rabbit looked liked she was thinking it over, what other choice did she have? She couldn't overpower the queen.
"My babies safety cannot be bargained, we are perfectly safe here, nice meeting you, goodbye" the queen could also see where the rabbit got her attitude from. She wasnt in the mood to fight.
"You know you're far too weak for me. Maybe I should kill you right in front of your daughter and have her lose her mind that her precious mother is gone. Now. I'll ask again, come along with us?"
"Fine." The rabbit said in a defeated tone, she turned and walked into her home and came back out moments later with her rabbit shying behind her back, trying to hide was she?
"I gave you nothing but special treatment and you pay me back by running away? I think I deserve an apology." Chara puffed out her cheeks and was about to stick her tongue out before her mother nudged her so she mumbled out an "I'm sorry" which the queen accepted and suddenly the rabbit was pulled into the bridal position. "Wait wait! We need to pack our clothes! I'm not wearing your skimpy dresses anymore!" The queen motioned for her to do so as she impatiently waited outside once more, she was growing tired of being outside her palace walls surrounds by food she was not allowed, she should have just killed that rabbit she put under mind control. Her prison was lacking the echoes of screams. Then whispers of wrath and pride came through her mind once again.
"Why are you bringing her? She's useless, she will defy you more than her daughter."
"She is not needed"
They were right, the mother had to purpose being inside her palace walls, she could lock her away and get her fill for torture each morning.
The bunny will never need to know..
The bunny will never need to know.
