2020 was the year it all began. Monsters, creatures we thought never existed began appearing.
At first It started with small sightings.
2020, February 16th, this was when the first world-shaking event happened.
A large cave, or rather dungeon, appeared somewhere out in the snowy mountains. Its sheer existence gave off extreme amounts of electrical energy, which the military quickly detected. A large team of highly skilled soldiers were sent in to investigate, with multiple other squads on standby.
They quickly secured the area and entered the cave. What they found on the inside was breath-taking.
"What are we looking at?" They must've thought.
In front of their very eyes was a gigantic set of golden doors. They notified their commanding officer, who gave them permission to further investigate.
It nearly took the strength of a semi-truck to open the doors. With the combined sweat and effort of the team, they managed to get them open.
Behind those doors was a giant dark room. They couldn't see anything at first. That was until they stepped foot inside the room. As they walked in, the entire room suddenly lit up from a blue crystal on the ceiling. This is where it all went to hell.
Standing at the end of the room was a massive creature. A creature with great red eyes,and scales that shined under the light. A huge pair of wings on its back, it's clear just what this was. A real-life dragon.
Immediately, the squad wasted no time. This thing was a threat. They all raised their assault rifles and open fire on it. But their bullets had no effect. The very next second, the entire team was wiped out from a swipe of its tail. This creature escaped the cave and disappeared into the sky.
Half a day later, a city was attacked by the same creature. Buildings were left in ruins, and the structures that still stood were scorched by fire. The national guard were the first to arrive, they tried everything and still couldn't bring the dragon down. Men were slaughtered left and right, blood staining the roads. But they didn't have to wait long for reinforcements. The army rolled in with artillery and tanks. Explosions and cannon fire filled the air.
The creature was badly injured, but still lived. Before it could cause any more deaths, the fighter jets flew in, dropping bombs. Only then did the dragon finally collapse in the center of the city.
Only weeks after this incident, things began to appear in people's view. Strange words and numbers. Things like [Level: 1] and [HP: 12]
Soon, it would be known as "The System" Once ordinary people were now able to grow stronger, some even could use magic, and some gained special abilities. People beganbreaking every record known to man, without fail. Basically, they were now superhuman. Life started to seem more like a video game. Still, not everyone was able to level up. Some of us were stuck as boring old humans.
Everyone's stats were different. Some were stronger, some were weaker. Of course, just like before, some things could be increased with training. Things like strength and such.
Unfortunately, not everyone could become powerful. Everyone's max level was different. Some individuals could reach higher levels than others, and some couldn't level up at all, being stuck at [Level:1] forever.
Not long after the world changing event, associations were formed, called "Guilds"
Mainly meant for powerful individuals, but anyone who wanted to join the fight against monstersand dungeons were more than welcome to join. If you joined the fight, you were officially known as a 'Slayer' and people respected you.
But like all associations, there were different tiers of members. And only the strongest sat at the top. Your overall ability score (OABS) determined where in the latter you sat.
(D rank- ABS of 4 or lower. This with an ABS 4 and lower will be placed in this rank.
C-rank- ABS Requirement= 5
B-rank: ABS Requirement total= 11
A-Rank: ABS Requirement total= 23
S-rank - ABS Requirement=34

About 5 years later, life began to go back to normal, like monsters had always existed here. And people like me just went about our everyday lives.

People who had reached their max level but were somehow able to keep leveling up were called 'Levelers'.
Other names for these types of people were things like "Limit Breakers" and 'Players"
Caves would begin to appear in random places and some of them would sometimes lead into an underground lair.
These were called 'Dungeons'.
In each dungeon were monsters and dangerous creatures.
Each dungeon had one special room, one that held a monster deadlier than the rest in the place.
These creatures were called 'Bosses'.
After a boss has been defeated, the dungeon would begin disappearing at a random pace.
About 5 years later, life began moving normally as if monsters always existed. High ranking government officials began creating guilds for people that would go into dungeons and clear them.
These types of people were called 'Adventurers'.
In each guild, there were ranks. The rank you would be put in depended on your overall, which is the total of when all your stats numbers are combined.
(Example: Hp: 12 Intelligence: 150 Mp: 7 Atk: 4 Speed: 11
Endurance: 17 Overall=201)
And each rank above d-rank had an overall requirement.
(Ranking power scale: D-rank: Overall= 500 or lower.
C-rank: Overall= 1,000 or higher.
B-rank: Overall= 2,500 or higher.
A-rank: Overall=5,000 or higher.
S-rank: Overall= 25,000 or higher.
Silver: Overall= 100,000 or higher.
Gold: Overall= 450,000 or higher.
Platinum: Overall= 850,000.)
