Chapter 64 - "I Think I Can."

Chink!

The elevator doors opened and Katsuya came out. Following behind were the six surviving adventurers, along with Julia, an Information Gatherer for the guild.

"That was fast." Harley stated.

"I told you I would be back shortly." Katsuya replied.

All the adventures got seated around the room. The relief on all of their faces helped Katsuya regain his confidence that was lost after his defeat earlier. He recalled the Wolf-Fanged man's strength. If someone like that was roaming, they needed to be brought to the attention of the guild master.

'That guy. What was his name again? ..That's right! It was Calion. Having an enemy like that is bad news.' He thought to himself.

The same adventurer who gave information on where the survivors then came forward, giving his thanks.

"Thanks to you, everyone was brought to safety. As for the remaining enemies, did you dispose of them?"

"I did. The building is safe now. But I can't say for sure that more won't show up. Who knows what those terrorists have planned."

"True. nut we need to go back to the first floor, in case people come seeking help."

It was a dangerous situation, but it was good that the adventurer didn't forget what their job was. They definitely had guts not quitting after witnessing the scene on floor 1. As Katsuya scanned the room, he saw that the guild master was no where to be seen. He didn't notice it the first time because he was focused on saving the survivors. But now, he needed to question the where abouts of Guild Master Jonathan.

"The Guildmaster, where is he?" Katsuya asked.

"Oh. He relocated to an other area before all the chaos went down. He didn't say where exactly he was."

This was a problem. If Katsuya didn't know which areas of the city wer under attack, he wouldn't be able to help. And the head of the guild suddenly vanished.

'How am I supposed to help now? I don't know where things are happening. I could just run around until I see something but that would take too much time.' He thought to himself.

Sora's voice spoke, giving an idea [That girl Julia, she's an information gatherer. Maybe she know something. It would be hard to believe she didn't.]

'Yeah, that's right.! I'm glad you're here for good ideas.'

[Is that all?!]

'Yeah, basically. But it's a big help. It even helped me prevent death.'

Sora's voice sighed, [I guess that's enough. Go ask Julia for information now.]

But, Julia came to him stead, seeing that he was caught up in harsh thinking.

"I just wanted to thank you for saving me earlier. Feel free to ask me anything."

Katsuya nearly jumped in her face due to how ready he was for information. "Oh good timing. I did need to ask you something."

His sudden movement made Julia almost jump back in surprise.

"Y-you did? About what?" she asked.

"The different attacks around the city. Where should I lend my help?"

Julia poked at her chin in thought for some time, before she finally thought of an answer.

"The lower rankers are handling the smaller attacks. The high rankers are the ones that need your help. Their dealing with great threats that are even managing to injure them."

Threats being able to cause injuries to the Legendary-ranks meant that there were other strong opponents besides Calion, the Wolf-Fanged man.

"I can get there fast. Just tell me where I need to go."

(Meanwhile)

Nari didn't think a kids theme park would be one of the places under attack. But here she was, spinning her lance, slicing the tuxedo men as the came running.

Twirl! Slash! Slash! Slash!

Each man fell down, headless while Nari had a firm glare in her eyes.

"Attacking a children's theme park. This is why I exist, to bring judgment down on monsters like you."

A man wearing a black hood stepped froward, holding his arms into the air.

"Just as expected of you. None of these men are enough to even challenge you. Here, allow me to dispose of them."

With a snap of his finger, blue fire balls rained from the sky, disintegrating every man in a red tuxedo.

Blast Blast! Boom! Boom!

When it all came to a stop, a thick screen of smoke covered the area, but this mysterious hooded figure was close enough to still be visible. His power was easily higher than Silver-rank.

"Who are you?" Nari asked, tightening her grip on her lance. She was standing calmly, but it was obviously by her aura, she was ready to lunge forward at any given moment.

"Don't be alarmed. I am not with their organization."

Which did make sense why he just blasted the tuxedo men all to ash. But this man was definitely no adventurer either.

"Then who are you." Nari asked.

"I am the last surviving member of the Dark Mages." The hooded man stated.

The 'Dark Mages' didn't ring any bells in Nari's mind. But she did noticed that the name had the word 'Dark' in it. And anything with that word couldn't be good.

"I never heard of the Dark Mages. But I'll assume you're an enemy."

"It makes sens why you've never heard of us. Our movement was all in the Alternate World. We were killed off by the strongest adventurers they had to offer. That Amaya girl was the "

"I've never heard of Ace, but I do know of Amaya. It only makes sense that you were all killed of by her. Get to the point of your presence here."

The hooded man continued, "I came simply to show off my power. As well as to give your world a heads up on my plan. Here is my warning to this world. One day, when you least expect it and when you think things finally are going good, you will be met with the greatest problem you'll ever encounter."

Taking his words into consideration, he was an enemy that shouldn't be allowed to live.

"Not if I end you here!" Nari shouted, aiming her lance in his direction. A bone-trembling tornado shot forward, ripping apart the ground and obliterating anything in its way. When it came close to hitting the hooded man, he simply bowed before vanishing into smoke.

Seeing as the enemy left, Nari quickly dispelled her tornado with a simple swipe of her lance.

"So he ran. One day, Karma will catch up to him."

A strong man's voice spoke from behind.

"Ah, so you're the one I sensed great power coming from."

A slightly muscular man with wolf-like fangs, as well as sinister blood-shot eyes. His skin seemed soft, but it had a steel-like shine to it.

Nari knew just by looking at him, that he was a monster in a human's body.

"You! Prepare for JUDGMENT!"

A violently appeared around her body and as she came forward, the area quaked greatly.

"Yes! What a beautiful display of power. I hope it's not a a disappointment like that boy I killed earlier." said The Wolf-Fanged man.

"Oh, Karma will bite."

Nari's took a giant leap forward, thrusting her lance into the man's chest.

Swoosh!

A deadly wind passed around his body, and he stood with a grin. Nari's lance didn't even pierce his skin, nor did it leave a scratch. She was not discouraged and started rapidly slashing and trusting her lance, for seven seconds straight.

She finally stopped, and still, her beloved lance did nothing to her enemy.

"Even you can't peirce my True Immunity? What a let down." said the Wolf-Fanged man. He grabbed onto Nari's wrist, slamming her onto the ground.

Slam!

But he didn't plan to only do it once. He lifted her once again, then slammed her onto the concrete.

Slam!

Again, Again, Again, again, Again, he continued to slam her onto the ground until he lifted her up again. Her entire body had great wounds all over, and she looked to be unconscious.

"Haha. Come on, I was holding back."

He flung her across the air, to where her body crashed through a rollercoaster ride.

Crash!

The Wolf-Fanged man patted the dust of his hands and shook his head.

"Disappointments. Even a Legendary-rank adventure is nothing in the presence of me, a god of strength."

"You're no god! You a monster! And killing monsters is my job. You can't escape Karma." Nari shouted.

She was standing straight, as if her body was ignoring it's wounds.

"Only one person is capable of killing me and her name is Arisa. She spared my life after nearly ending me. That is why she has my respect and my full Loyalty. I doubt you can pull off the same feats as her. If you think you can, I'll count that as disrespect towards her. Then, I won't go easy on you."

Nari spun her lance, showing off it's great glow.

"I think I can."
