Beth•••
"Nice to meet you Michael" Damien said in a tone I recognized as his 'I'm bored with you' tone. "I hope you come on the trip so that you can display your parenting skills and also...."
Blah blah blah.
Argh.
Could he get boring-er?
Tehehehe.
"You!" he pointed at me, glee evident in his eyes. "What's your name?"
Even though I didn't want to, I stood up to give him some face. "Lisbeth Millers" I said in the driest tone I could muster and sat my bum back down.
"Its a pleasure to meet you Beth—"
"LISBETH" I said in a harsh tone. From the corner of my eye I even saw that Lance flinched.
"I heard you" Damien said.
"Oh" I nodded my head thoughtfully, because I am a very thoughtful person. "I just thought you didn't because you know you're a little you know...." I pouted to think of a suitable word. Aha! I mouthed "old" to him and kept a smirk plastered on my face.
His nose twitched before his stupid signature grin spread on his thin lips. "I hope Lisbeth, that you'll be able to prove that you can be mature"
I felt my smirk drop. "Excuse me?"
"Nothing really I just think that the students should prove to their parents that they can be mature and responsible. Right guys?" he asked the class.
"Yeah" they chorused.
I got bored of looking at Damien's stupid face during his boring face so I averted my gaze to pretty boy beside me.
I wish that Seth was the one here. But I guess I'll have to make do with what I have. Tch.
"See what you like princess?" I heard Lance whisper without even looking at me.
I hung my head shamed that I was caught staring. And worse still, Lance thinks I find him eye catching.
Well its not that he isn't but he gets ahead of himself sometimes. Nah....scratch that. All the freaking time he gets ahead of himself.
"Aww are you drooling? So cute" I heard him say.
I gasped and my hand flew to my mouth after checking for half a day I found nothing.
"You liar"
"I never said that you were doing it outside. You're drooling in your mind"
I couldn't believe the nerve of this guy. "Yeah I'm drooling in my mind but its not for you alright?!"
He nodded with a smirk. "Whatever you say princess"
I rolled my eyes and paid attention to the gibberish pouring out of Damien's mouth.
I knew that he had always had a problem with me talking to guys my age so talking to Lance is sure to rile him up. I smirked as I thought of something.
I tore a little piece of paper from my note and wrote something down. I think I overacted when I smiled like a lovestruck teenager and nibbled on my lip.
I passed the note to Lance and looked away as if I was shy. Lance looked at it with surprise and his long fingers started unfolding it when—
"Is there no respect for your teacher in this class?" Damien asked cooly, but I could see the veins popping on his forehead. He was staring at me.
I blinked innocently and wore a confused expression. "Sir?" I tucked a few strands of hair behind my ears and tried to look as if I was hiding something.
"Why would you pass a love note in class?"
"A love note? Sir you are mistaken"
"Oh really?" he looked at Lance and stretched his palm to him.
Lance only raised a brow. Somehow even that single action made the girl who was sitting next to him blush.
I had to admit the kid had his natural charm. He looked at Damien like he'd never been more bored.
He opened the note and his deep voice resounded in the class. "Hey, what myth do you think we should work on?....Beth"
Then he passed the note to the girl beside him to read. The girl was flustered and blushed furiously and read the note in a shaky voice.
I rolled my eyes. I mean its not like he's overly hot. Why are they acting like he's deputy Jesus or something?
Damien said nothing and gritted his teeth. He then forced a smile to his face realizing that he was played.
"What's YOUR name, young man?"
Lance glanced at him. "Houston"
"Well" Damien said getting closer "doesn't Houston have respect to stand up like the others?"
I knew that Damien was asking for trouble so I tried to speak but I shut up with the glare Lance sent my way.
He stood up to his full height making Damien look like the student.
"Well Mr Harris wasn't in the least polite just now when he not only accused a student falsely but also didn't apologize when he was proved wrong" he offered Damien a smug smile and for the first time I was happy that he knew how to smile like that.
"Whatever" Damien breathed out.
"Well we can do this bonding some other time" Mrs Edith said stepping in between the two lions. As if something dawned on her, she looked at me.
I looked back just to make sure she wasn't looking at Nancy who was behind me.
"Miss Millers?"
"Yes?..."
"Why would you ask Houston about your history project?"
"Oh that. Well we're partners"
Eww that left a sour taste on my tongue.
