EIAN
I bumped into Callie in the parking area when she turned around. Yes, I know her since we were kids because her mother and my mother were still best of friends.
We used to play together when we were little. We stopped being friends after that. I do not know but we do not mingle with each other anymore.
Every time we see each other in every occasion our parents had. We just ignore but that was ages ago.
They were both busy with their businesses and we stopped going to their place and vice versa. But my mother and her mother were still bonding together like girl time thing.
My dad and her dad were still working together. Her father trusted my dad so much and the loyalty of my father was 100% to her dad.
Their families were kind and good to us. However, it was kind of weird when I see Callie, I get irritated. When she transferred to our school. I was shock knowing her previous school was exclusively for girls that can afford with a very rich parents like her.
I mean my mother's families were rich but marrying my dad who is still just a right hand of Callie's father.
Of course, my mother embraced what my father status to be. A middle-class level family. I do not have hatred about my status being middle class lifestyle because it was not my thing.
I enjoy my life like I want it to be and my parents were not that strict to us and to me too. We live next block to where Callie's parents. It is still one of the expensive houses and areas in our town.
Our school is not exclusive like her old one. But it was mix with boys and girls. It is still private school but no one knew who she was since she transferred. I always saw her with Cindy.
I know Cindy because we were classmates since we were kids. Cindy had a boyfriend who is my friend too, Vince.
You might wonder why I prefer to call her Callie than Sky. Well, I guess I used to it and it was her first name.
I was already sitting on my chair talking with my friends when the two girls arrived.
None other than Callie and Cindy.
There are two chairs left that were vacant. One on my right side and the other one was on Vince's left which is Cindy's boyfriend. I saw Cindy whispered to Callie and she nodded.
Cindy walked towards Vince and the remaining chair was for Callie to sit. Of course, it was the seat beside me.
This is our first time we had class together and first time sitting near. She was glancing at me as she sat quietly. I know that we changed into strangers with each other. It was awkward but I just ignore it.
She was making herself busy not even glancing at me anymore. Vince and I were talking while she was sat there quietly.
On the other hand, I was the one secretly peeking slightly on her.
The bell rang the first one, for us to remind that we still have time. After five minutes it rang again for the start of the classes. A moment later our teacher walked in with her books and some files in her arms.
It was History subject in our first period. Since today was our first day, she took out some paper.
"Okay, good morning class. Today is the first day of this school year. Your senior year, your last year of this school." She said as her opening topic. She wrote her name in the board. "I hope that I will not see you again next year just to repeat my classes. If I might see you in this school not because you fell my subject but rather see you moving forward to your future." She added. "Just like this subject History. I know not all of you have the same goals, same thinking, same wants in life. Maybe after you graduate high school." She paused. "Some of you get married, go to college, start working and many other plans. However, no matter what you choose to do with your life. It will always be written in your history line." She smiled. "Now, I will call your name then each one of you will say present. Okay?"
"Yes, Ma'am"
Our teacher in History was nice and cool. Easy to mingle with her students. So far, in this class we do not have brats. All of us were good to each other. I know them all through the years I have been here.
"Eian Ross" I heard my name been called.
"Present!" I said raising my hand to let my teacher knew it was me. She looked at me then wrote something to the file.
"Callie Skylar Torres"
"Present!" I glanced at Callie raising her hand, blushing.
After the roll calling our names, our teacher stood up.
She began discussing about the world history during the World War II and even ask us if we know. She gave some question to us. Nobody volunteered but when she called Sky to answer the question. She stood up and answered it with confident.
I was looking at her without blinking. I am not a dumb student. I do maintain my grades that my parents have no problems with it. But I am not like her. I did not know that she was a walking encyclopedia. Well, she was always consistent top 1 in every level I was in top 10.
Our teacher was smiling when she continues asking Callie some more questions. She sat back silently and she was the only one who answered the questions.
I do read and study but not fond of history. Instead, when it comes about business or architectural, I am excellent in that field. That is one of the reasons I want to take up in college to follow my dreams and have my own firm.
Our first period was not bad at all. Nice classmates and best teacher too.
