Chapter 25 - The ninja anti-racist dog-species fellow-sub-human Panda

Alexander walked forward, he was slightly surprised that the teacher had called on him. Alexander had expected something strange to be said about him, he was after all the only human. But, apart from wierd looks and scoffs nothing had happened.

He knew that his life wasn't in danger, but he still didn't want his face to be shredded. He walked up, and simultaneously the cage opened and another Mongolite flew out. This one looked more ferocious and stronger, Alexander looked towards his teacher which was sporting a small smirk.

Alexander didn't say anything but he was expecting his match to be tougher. He already didn't have any of the skills the other demons had, he had to use his physical ability to defeat the Mongolite.

As he walked towards the fighting spot, he heard a familiar voice in his mind.

"Do not make a fool out of me, I warn you"

Alexander felt slightly annoyed from this. He barely had any skills and now was expected to fight against a creature which had bested a demon capable of making a full fire explosion. Insanity.

Alexander started formulating a small plan in his head. 'The Mongolite can only engage through a leap, if I am quick enough I can surely dodge the leap. then I ca..'

His thinking was cut short by his teacher signalling that the match had started. The Mongolite started slowly making it's way towards Alexander, it did not show the fear it had in the other two similar matches. 'Damn you, I will burn you alive' Alexander thought as he felt disrespected.

He crouched down, widened his stance and started slowly walking towards it. The class of demons started laughing as they saw this, even the teacher was in disbelief.

"Now is not the time for games, take a serious position" the teacher said.

At this Alexander was slightly confused, the other two fighters the teacher had called unserious, Alexander thought it was because of the way they had approached the fight. He widened his stance further. The laughing and mocking grew further, it was quite vicious. Even the less able students were mocking him.

The salamanders voice echoed in his voice.

"I am going to punish you for this" it was said in a similar voice to a child in tears.

Alexander was completely confused, he looked towards the group trying to get any hints towards the mistake he was making. The insults they were throwing at him weren't of any substance and the teachers wide disbelieving eyes weren't helping either.

Alexander felt embarrassed but decided that he would ask later, he still had a fight on his hands. Whilst he was looking at the group the Mongolite had approached him quite closely. Alexander activated his firehands ability making his hands emit fire. At this the class laughed even more.

Alexander could feel the salamanders rage bouncing throughout his body, for a split second his fire hands turned from a shade of red to yellow before turning back to red. The teachers eyes noticed this.

Eventually the Mongolite got close enough for a leap and it took it's chance. Alexander which had been preparing for this started motioning out of the way, but alas he was too slow.

The Mongolites claws landed on Alexander's face but when it was about to rip into him it was stopped and pulled away. The class booed at the teacher for this revelation, the class was quickly silenced through magic. The teacher pointed at a student.

"You, next"

Meanwhile, he had made Alexander fly all the way towards him. They stood far enough away from the class for them not to hear their chat, but he did receive jealous eyes for getting the teachers recognition after such a spectacular fail.

"Human, for a second I saw you produce yellow level fire. How?"

"umm, it wasn't me. It was the spirit inside."

"Yeah, you humans practice spirit magic, I forgot that you steal our magic! I hadn't expected the son of our lord to be so talented, such a shame that he got imprisoned"

"Anyhow, you dying would mean the lord's son dying as well, such a shame you look so tasty." The teacher said "One more thing, look at how the other students walk and mirror their style, you clearly don't know anything about stance".

Alexander then walked back into the majority of the class, he received a few questions about what the teacher had said and he answered truthfully. After that the demons continued snickering at the current fighter.

Alexander noticed that each and every single demon was walking casually into a fight. 'Could this possibly be their stance?' It sounded impractical but the teacher hadn't commented anything negative on it.

By the time the lesson had ended he noticed that nobody had been able to beat the triple Mongolite challange, all but one particular demon. It was one the longer ones, he didn't say much and strangely he never raised his hand but apart from the other who didn't raise their hands he didn't look down. For him this was nothing but a annoying task he would have to do.

Alexander also noticed that all the other demons had quilted down once it was his turn and that nobody really talked to him. It wasn't that they were excluding him, it was that they simply feared him. The son of the king was nobody to be messed with.

After the lesson had ended Alexander made his way towards the second lesson, it would be about magic theory. The classroom had the shape of a normal classroom, consisting of a board and a lot of chairs. At the front stood another demon, this one sported a white mustache.

The class started with an announcement, there would be a fighting competition being held in two months time attended by the king himself. At the mention of the king everyone looked towards his son, where they spotted him sleeping.

Alexander correlated this to the skills he could unlock but he had never seen the mana related stuff.

The next lesson was one about learning mana, which came quite handy towards Alexander. They had to sense mana before they could start use it, only when they could sense it could they begin using it.

The teacher said that the trick was relying on your sixth sense. And the only way to do that was through sense deprivation. The teacher said that the classroom itself had a special contraption which would eliminate all light, and then pressurize until the feeling and hearing sense was gone. Then each student would be suspended and stuck in their spot. The next step would be straining your eyes to see, your ears to hear, your skin to feel, your tongue to taste, your nose to smell. Only after you had completely strained of them would you notice the incredibly faint sense that was your mana sense.

Alexander prepared himself. First the light went out like the teacher said, the darkness felt like a void. Then the air felt, first his entire body felt increasingly pressured but then it slowly dissipated.
