"Both of them have the same quality of animals," The old man says
Silence pervades the training field as everyone is thinking that their hearing is off and that they had heard that they tied.
"Um... sir are you sure that we tied," Someone from the trainees asks
"And you say that I am old even though you cannot accept what you are hearing," The old man says as he just shakes his head
"I said that both groups have brought the same quality of the animals that were killed by you both," The old man says once more affirming what he said before
"How is that possible?! His rabbits are clearly in terrible condition as opposed to the rabbits that we have!" The same guy from before shouts out
The old man only nods at that statement while Alex blushes a bit since he knew that was a problem of his since his new strength could easily kill them and almost leave nothing behind.
"That may be true but a few of the animals in Alex's line come from the inner region which is of better quality than those in the outer region of the forest," The old man says
This produces silence from the group of trainees as going to the inner area was something that they had never expected to be done by a single person. If the outer area required about two through four people then going to the inner area would require ten people at least to do a successful hunt and make sure that no one was left behind or killed during the hunt while the center could only be entered by the elite hunters and no one else.
Even with all these precautions, people would get injured and sometimes some of them would never make it back alive but hearing that Alex went to the inner area by himself was just a feat in and of its own. This prompted complicated gazes from the group of trainees looking at Alex with varying gazes of awe, shock, and anger being the most prominent of the gazes that people were giving him. Alex just simply pays them no mind as he instead looks at the notification that popped up in front of him.

Alex was glad that he completed the quest because he was now closer to leveling up again which was evident on his status screen.

Alex had gained a bit of exp and was not that far off from leveling up once again and in order to do that he would need to complete more quests in the form of bets that he partakes in or by asking people in the village if they need help with anything so Alex was perfectly fine with doing a few easy tasks. Still, though the most efficient way would be to kill higher leveled creatures or beings since Alex would be allowed to level up faster based on their level and if he could kill them.
Actually, an idea popped up in Alex's mind making him wonder if he should just kill wounded creatures that other people were fighting to take away the exp from them. Now that might work but Alex was not that sure if the system would give him the partial or full amount of exp earned from the kill so Alex would have to run some tests.
"Alex?" Sheila asks him drawing his attention
He was so concentrated on what was going on that he completely zoned out and did not hear anything that was going on.
"Ah sorry about that I was just thinking about something else," Alex tells her
"Well since you won I believe I have to uphold my end of the bet," Sheila says as she starts moving back to the village
Soon everyone else in the group of hunters heads back to the village and dragging back the corpses of their kills back to the village to be skinned plucked and roasted for tonight's meal leaving only Alex, the old man, and Alex's kills.
"Well, then Alex I believe that this is not right of me to ask but what would have happened if you lost the bet?" The old man asks turning to look at Alex
"Well I would owe her a favor," Alex answers him
The old man only stares at Alex for a bit before chuckling at his answer before walking away but not before looking back at Alex and saying.
"You are one lucky guy to catch her fancy then, but be careful women are as dangerous as they are beautiful," The old coot says as he hobbles back to the village
His words just confused Alex as he had never thought that Sheila was interested in him at all as she seemed to be the type of person that seemed above everything and was calm and collected. Still, Alex felt that this old geezer was just messing with him and just dismissed the thought that Sheila was even interested in him.
Alex was after trying to enslave all the races in the universe and while that may seem to be an unattainable claim Alex may actually be able to do it with the system he has and the class that he was given. Still, Alex could not do anything if he was stuck on this planet so the first order of business would be to enslave the whole planet or to leave the planet and then let the sun disappearing do its damage to the planet.
Shaking the thoughts of world domination and universal slaughter from his mind Alex starts the process of dragging each individual corpse back to the village. Since Alex has a low strength stat, he cannot really drag everything too far without impacting his stamina a bit, and with the low strength, the best he can do is drag the larger corpses back while he could grab a few of the smaller ones together and bring them back.
It was tiring work that Alex was glad to do once he saw the smiles and congratulations from the villagers as they helped him out and started a celebration from the days hunt from the trainees and Alex bringing back plenty of food to feed everyone and have leftovers that could be turned into rations through smoking them into jerky strips to preserve them.
Now the only thing that the meat needed was some spices and barbeque sauce to make it even better. The only thing that people added to their cooked meat was a few herbs that added little to the flavor but Alex was still thankful for the meal as it was delicious in his opinion and was only wanting items that were available to him if he were back in his present time.
Everyone enjoyed the meal around a large bonfire where a spit-roasted the meats above it and was turned by a few individuals tasked with cooking. Alex looked upon the village and took in this simple lifestyle. A sense of peace flowed through Alex as he looked upon the people of the village sharing stories amongst each other, while the children played together not far, the old man retelling a story that he had made up about some sort of great prophecy.
Wait Great Prophecy?
Alex listens in realizing that this is something that he should be listening in on.
"Now then the when our god left they also gave us a great prophecy stating that they would return after two hundred years which is soon upon us and when that happens our god shall return us and enlighten us in heavens light," The old man says in reverence
"Um, may I ask what exactly it is that we will be enlightened with?" Alex asks
"Hm... they did not say but only that we would be enlightened in the ways of the heavens"
'That was helpful,' Alex thinks sarcastically before getting an idea
"What did God look like?" Alex asks
"They were strong enough to obliterate the strongest beasts of the time with one punch, they were benevolent enough to teach how to create and make things that we never thought possible before, they-"
"I am asking what they looked like not their deeds ol- elder," Alex says trying to get a description of their god and nothing else about their so-called God's deeds and feats
"Well... they had a face as that glowed like a torch allowing us to see the way, they were kind and generous, and that is all that was mentioned by my ancestors," The old man says answering Alex's questions
Alex forces out a smile before he gets up and makes the excuse for turning in for the night and heads back to his hut.
'Well that was completely useless' Alex thinks to himself as he tried getting some useful information and got squat
It was disheartening, to say the least, but Alex realized that asking only one person for something that happened apparently close to five hundred years ago left Alex with the realization that if he wanted some sort of information about this mysterious God Alex would have to go searching for the information from the other tribes on Eve. Alex knew that this "God" would not stay in one place for long and would have to leave the area to search for a way off the planet unless they were strong enough to leave the planet and travel the cosmos on their own which was unlikely.
So unless this God had the means to and decided to call a spaceship taxi then Alex was pretty sure that he traveled the planet a bit to find a way to contact whatever group they were apart of and with the fact that there would always be cosmic space trash Alex was pretty sure that there was a device on the planet that this God used. Still, there was one thing that Alex did not understand.
'Why did they say that they would return?' Alex thinks remembering how the old man put it
Now of course there could have been some misinformation if it was passed down from person to person throughout the generations and that would be an issue as somethings might have been lost or twisted so Alex was unsure if their god was going to return at all and that this was only someone's idea that got added. Alex could not be sure about that as he lies on his mat and eventually drifts to sleep.
...
While Alex was sleeping in his hut and the villagers were still eating their fill of the days hunt in the forest some strange things were happening inside. All the beasts started moving forwards into the center area of the forest that would usually be off-limits to them as that was the territory of the Promethean Tiger's and they were extremely territorial and most of the beasts in the core area generally avoided them but now they were all moving to the center.
At the center of the forest, there was a small lake of water that had amazing healing properties that was safeguarded by the Promethean Tiger's as their sacred treasure and lifeline but now on all the banks of the lake their were all the beasts of the forest looking on towards the lake as if waiting for something. Then out of nowhere, something starts moving underneath the surface of the water causing all the beasts to grow restless as what was under the water breaches the surface under the gazes of the beasts present.
It was a grand spire made of metal and machinery that was pointing up into the sky with a single blinking light at the top that was red that went well above the trees in the forest and just stayed up there doing nothing.
Suddenly a loud buzzing is heard as the light at the top of the spire turns green and the beasts below start retreating in a frenzy leaving the center area of the forest and migrating out into the inner areas and away from the horrid buzzing sound.
