Chapter 1 - Prologue

Huf, huff, huff …

I'm running out of breath.

I could feel the oxygen in my lungs is almost used up, and it keeps decreasing every second.

My heart beating crazily, to keep my blood runs hot.

All of the strength inside, is focused on running away. From it.

Yes, I must run away from the monstrous figure behind, chasing me in a frenzied manner.

I've never seen it before. This night is our first encounter, and possibly the last one as well.

He's gigantic. He's fast. One second of negligence, can results on me being torn down like ragdoll.

"Damn it! If only I'd known of this happening!"

I scream, cursing my predicament and my inability to overcome it. This is purely my own fault. If only I was not fool enough to mess with such danger, I wouldn't be f*cked up like what I am doing right now.

Without glancing through my back, I know how fast and furious he is from his earth-shaking stomps.

He's still chasing.

I'm shocked. Big and burly body with unbelievable speed is one thing, but his endurance is no joke either. Damn!

Right. I have no time to be amazed.

At the exact moment, my life is in the critical phase.

To live, or to die? I don't know, not even have faith on my decision.

Is this, my destiny? Is what I've just done counted as fighting my destiny?

If that so, why don't I embrace it, and die here? Isn't that the right thing to do?

My running speed is decreasing. Running in constant pace for twenty or some minutes wears me down.

Despair is encroaching my mind. Thinking straight is difficult. Even so, my primal instinct chooses to stay alive.

Knees are weakening, legs are giving out. this body can fall down anytime. I can feel the death creeps closer.

"Ah!" Without fully realizing it, what I think is going to happen.

I trip myself upon a rock on the ground.

Too focused on the front, my eyes fail to be aware of surroundings.

Damn it. It seems that God had me fated to die here.

Why, of all places and times, that damned rock has to be there and now?!

If I were in my top condition, of course it would be easy to evade such trivial obstacle.

But now I'm worn out of battling and running. Tripping on a rock means losing balance over my body.

Without my limbs supporting me, this exhausted body falls over the ground by my face.

That's it. It's ending.

My life, it ends here.
