While Wan Seulgi slept peacefully at her house, from time to time, Wan Seulgi cried to her sleep, mumbling something like a curse to her ex-boyfriend. Han Seoyeon knew that her friend wasn't a weak person but when the alcohol influenced her, she would act out her sadness. Not wanting to think deeply into being her friend's blind date stand-in, she switched off the light to turn of the small lam light beside her bed, taking a rest for herself.
When the morning came, the bright Sun appeared to the city and brought light to the new day. In a beautiful office, a man sat in tranquil, moving his fingers to tap into his keyboard laptop. His long onyx lashes curved down to create a shadow below his eyes when he heard a light knock on his study room.
"CEO Jung, the head director is here."
A sigh slipped out from Jung Hwa's lips from the announcement. Before he rejected or agreed for his grandfather to come into his office, the old man had burst into the room with his luxurious cane. "You fool of a grandson! Your grandfather is here but you aren't going to let him enter?"
"Head director, I haven't heard anything about your arrival yet." He replied, continue to focus on what he was doing without sparing a glance at his grandfather.
"I have arrived this morning from England and yet you haven't heard of my arrival?" The head director narrowed his eyes suspiciously at his poker-faced grandson and saw him nodding to close of a folder on his hand.
"Yes. I haven't. Perhaps I was too caught up in my work that I didn't hear the report." He replied like a living robot, holding no interest in the reply his grandfather would give.
The man behind the head director had an uncomfortable face. Clearly, he had told Jung Hwa of the head director's arrival but the man had lied with a straight face that he almost mistake his lie of a genuine blunder.
The head director humphed and frowned, "You're not going to offer your grandfather a seat and a drink?" He spoke and took a seat in advance on the couch.
"You've taken a seat and I'm currently busy on my work, head director." Jung Hwa returned his words and tapped the office phone to order his subordinate to bring his grandfather a warm tea.
"Arrogant grandson." The head director grumbled. "I'm very very dismayed that my grandson who has always stuck to me now ignores me for the sake of his work."
"Please tell me what you came to here, head director. So I could help you."
The head director turned his head, smirking smugly that he finally asked him. Pointing his hand, he ordered, "Go on a blind date!"
"No." Jung Hwa rejected fastly.
The head director's smile twitched, he rejected him without even sparing him a glance, continuing to do his works from one folder to another. "Why? Are you going to refuse your grandfather's request?"
"I apologize, head director but at the moment I have work to do. I'm busy." He repeated his reasoning twice, hoping his grandfather could understand what he was saying.
His grandfather knocked on his cane to the floor stubbornly. Just from who did he get his stubbornness from? the head director asked himself with a disappointed sigh. Not only did his grandson hold zero interest in a relationship, but he also always drowned himself in nothing but work as though his life depends on it. What he feared was his grandson to become a bachelor through the end of his life and the future doesn't seem too far-fetched from his behavior now.
He could feel his head swollen just by thinking the matter once again.
"You stupid grandson, don't you think it's too early to say you're busy when you haven't heard the promised time first?"
"And when will the blind date is, head director?" His business tone didn't change even as he spoke with his grandfather, following the course of the conversation obediently without giving his focus away from his work.
"Seven p.m.!" The old man felt a little happy that he finally asked.
"I can't make it at that time. I'm busy." Jang Hwa continued to place another folder that he finished efficiently to the left side of his desk, paying no attention to what his grandfather was talking about and took the flow of the conversation.
The old man couldn't hold back his anger anymore and raged, "You haven't even look at your schedule! How can you be so sure?"
"I remembered a whole month ahead of my schedule, head director."
Finding nothing to retort back, he could only click his tongue at his intelligent grandson. "Tch!" If Jung Hwa's rejection kept on going steady, he would definitely not attend the blind date, and all his hard work of finding someone who wants to give a try to meet his cold grandson would only be in vain!
He knew this will happen and still have something up in his sleeve. The trump card that he often used to forcefully persuade Jung Hwa. Although he didn't like this last hidden move due to its sly and hard to execute, for today no matter what he has to make sure Jung Hwa would step out from his office!
He took a handkerchief, sobbing painfully with a heartbreaking tone and Jung Hwa's finger twitched from the sound. He looked up, finding his grandfather's shoulder shaking horribly and heard him crying.
"My good daughter Hyesu in heaven, please forgive your father for not being able to find a perfect match for your son and made him live in solitude without a partner." He dabbed his handkerchief to his face which was vacant of tears and continued his fake crying. "If your son can't marry anyone, I don't know how to face you anymore. Please forgive your useless dad. Even though we need someone to continue our blood line, it seem that our family's bloodline would end with Hwa as the last generation!"
Jung Hwa put down the unfinished work, giving an end to this and stated, "Where will the blind date be held at?"
"So you're going?" The old man quickly recuperated from his sadness, giving a prickling grin to his grandson.
Jung Hwa knew it was only an act but nevertheless couldn't reject his grandfather's request especially when he heard him bringing his mother. He closed off his fountain pen, finally looking at his grandfather to raise his brow. "Would it be better for me not to come?"
"Hotel Crimson third lounge!" No taking back! The old man will strike the iron while it's still hot! He will not allow you to take back your words!
