After the death of her parents, Han Seoyeon first planned to drop out of her Highschool. Although whether she was fortunate or not that one could argue, at the time of her parent's death, she had just graduated from Highschool. Her future was bleak and everyone had whispered the fact on her parent's funeral. Other people would began to blame God for creating misfortune but at the time of her parent's funeral when Han Seoyeon saw her little brother's expression, she realized she didn't have any time to weep for their death. She still had a little brother. A little brother whose future wasn't clouded yet and for his future no matter what she had to sacrifice, she would gave it up.
Yet on the day when she decided to write her own future without the help of her rotten family from her parent's side, her aunt and uncle purposely adopted them in. One would think they did it out of kindness but the truth was far cry from how it look. They adopted her and her brother in only for the sake of her parent's death insurance. And until today before she could make her own money enough to make sure she could gain her and her brother's freedom from her damned uncle and aunt, she was still under their palm.
"Tch," Jung Hwa who stood beside her heard her clicking her tongue. Her expression was dark as sky with no single warmth shown over her face.
Why did they call me now? Han Seoyeon asked herself internally.
"Are you not going to take the call?" Jung Hwa took her mind off her phone screen.
"I will, excuse me for a moment, Mr. Jung." The words came out sternly, making Jun Hwa to look at her concerned. Han Seoyeon made some distance from the spot where Jung Hwa stood. Crossing her left arm in front of her chest, she exhaled a burdened sigh to take the call. "What do you need?" Her snappy voice sounded.
"Insolent bitch." Her aunt cussed toward her crudely but she didn't mind compared to the time when the woman threw her a sharp knife this was nothing much than a salt.
"You can call another person if you want to curse at them, you have plenty don't you?" Han Seoyeon rolled her eyes, she wanted to quickly end the call but the person now still hold her name under the family card which she want to rip to pieces just by thinking of it.
"You dare to talk back to me?" Her aunt scoffed arrogantly, pulling a disgusting smirk. "Do you want us to make a scene at Seojun's University?" When her brother was mentioned, Han Seoyeon's finger flinched. She gritted her teeth, kneading her palm to a tight fist. "Just say what you need."
"Come to the family house first then we can talk about it. Now." The woman demanded.
"I can't, I have an important appointment right now." She replied casually and prepared herself to be shouted by her aunt and as she had expected the woman let out a sharp yell from the other side of the phone. "Do you think I fucking care?! Come here or else I will make sure you suffer from the consequence!" As she finished shouting the woman ended the call one-sidedly.
Han Seoyeon took her fist tightening the grip firmly, anger seeping out to her fingertips. She gazed at her phone that she almost threw to the ground but stopped when she reminded herself that she couldn't afford a new one and that she was still on her service now. Ruffling her blues wig a little, she calmed her anger and took a mouthful of breath to fix herself.
Seeing Jung Hwa still standing without moving an inch away from his position with his hand crossed. She walked toward him and spoke. "I'm sorry, Mr. Jung. Just now I received an urgent matter that I have to attend now." Her mind was filled with the thought that Jung Hwa would once again stopped her from leaving yet unexpectedly he gave a nod. "Is that so," he hummed, "should I give you a ride to your destination?"
Han Seoyeon shook her head, rejecting his offer. "No thank you, I will be going now." She said and left him there.
Jung Hwa stood there silently, his eyes switching from black to a blue hue from the underwater light that shone over his face. As a pure blood vampire, his hearings were far sharper than a normal vampire. Although he often ignored his hearings, he didn't missed the conversation exchanged by Han Seoyeon to her family.
"Family," he whispered. He forgot, everyone have a family unlike him and it was also the same with Han Seoyeon. However, he remembered his parents to die early when she's still in Highschool and that she wasn't close to her uncle and aunt who adopted her. Then, they must have called her for not a good reason. Raising his index finger, he picked the skin with his thumb for his blood to trickle down and gave a little order to manipulate his blood. "Follow and protect her." The blood followed his order and disappeared from his finger to turn into a small red mist. Although he believed Han Seoyeon was a strong woman, a little protection wouldn't do harm. After all, she is the woman who had made him fall for her at a first sight. He doesn't want her to be harmed by anyone.
After exiting the aquarium, Han Seoyeon went to take her motorcycle and took her helmet. Hopping her one leg to the body of the motorcycle, she locked her helmet with a click and went to her aunt's house in less than ten minutes. Jumping down from the motorcycle, she looked at the house which was once a hell to live in and let out a sigh. She had thought three years ago that she would never step a feet inside the house again but now here she was, coming back to the house for the fifth time in distaste.
She took a mouthful of breath, pushing the bell button of the house which she knew that no one who reside inside would bother to answer her. As the gate open she entered the house and was greeted with a woman who was a little younger than her. It was her cousin, Han Minhae.
