Chapter 70 - Winter II

It was very painful since it was impossible for me to jump without leaning on my badly injured front leg. But I closed my eyes ignoring the pain and braced myself for my actual encounter with the bear.

I approached stealthily using my fur to camouflage myself in the snow, the bear, as in our first meeting, did not notice my presence until it was in front of him, or well, it may not have mattered much to him. Still, take this opportunity to take a closer look at your dinner, which I am very happy to realize was not a transformed human, just a little rabbit that had the misfortune to appear in the area.

To force the bear to chase me and also because I was actually hungry I caught the rabbit between my teeth while the bear chewed and ran off. The bear let out a loud roar and began to chase me rapidly.

I tried not to put the trap too close to, or too far from, the bear. This, with the aim that he did not realize its existence, but it was not impossible for me to reach it either.

With each step the bear took, he got closer and closer to me and with my injuries it was impossible for me to move faster. Thanks to the smell of my ...

Ahem, from my "mark" I knew I was close to my goal and prepared to jump. The bear also managed to reach me at that moment and although he did not jump with me, he managed to pierce my back with his claws.

However, I managed to jump and the big bear fell into my trap as I predicted, but I felt a great burning on my back and saw drops of blood that rolled down my white fur and left traces of blood in the snow.

I did not stay to see if the bear survived the fall. Although that good idea segregated my victory, even in my mind the idea that this big animal was an insane human being wandered. And I didn't want to know if I killed him.

I quickly moved away from the area and in a quieter place I prepared to eat my piece of rabbit to later sleep in pain.
