Being tempted by the darkness itself is genuinely something that Delphine and Simon cannot allow to happen to themselves. They have already come so far, and there was no turning back from any of the endless traveling they already endured. Then, Simon backed up towards Delphine and remained next to her to see if he can figure out how to get out of the fog. It was almost impossible to tell where they were going, and Simon looked down at himself to try and think of a plan. Suddenly, he turns around and looks at Delphine for a long while; instead of walking straight, she pierces her greatsword down and starts breathing heavily.
Simon thought that she was very thirsty or exhausted from how much they both have walked. He saw her face glow red and noticed her sweating and moving her lower body right and left; he runs towards her to see what has gotten into her.
"Delphine, what is it? What do you think you're doing?" Simon asked.
"Someone... or something is groping my breasts. And... touching me from behind," Delphine answered. Simon stood there and became utterly embarrassed by the fact that someone would do that to Delphine without her permission.
But, it was the same dark male voice that sounded like Simon; he decided to show his actual appearance. He looked exactly like the young hunter, but with different clothes and a different sword. Simon watches as his counterpart is fondling Delphine's sublime boobs, and Delphine could not find a way to get him off of her.
"Take your filthy hands off her!" Simon shouted.
"Why don't you make me? Go on, draw your sword and save your girlfriend's life," the man said. He then starts laughing very menacingly as he noticed another figure is coming from the mist and planning to do something with Simon.
"I'm gonna kill you!" He shouted. Suddenly, the second figure come up to Simon from behind and had her greatsword ready to slice his throat.
If the strange man looked a lot like Simon, then the second person is a woman who looked exactly like Delphine with different clothes and a sword.
"You picked a bad place to wander around and an even worse place to die. Your blood smells fresh and not of the wolves nor demons," the woman said. She had Simon pinned to her, and the Ebony Knight pinned to the man; both of them were exact clones of Delphine and Simon.
"I did not clone myself. I have no twin brother. Who are you, people?" Simon asked.
"I am Scarlet. He is Erron. We are the blood that runs through your veins. We are everywhere and nowhere," the woman answered. Scarlet had power, but not demonic power like Delphine, and Erron had much more in terms of strength than Simon.
Both of them were not born from humans, but they were both coming from the darkness and lived in the shadows.
"Why don't you go ahead and tell us what you want! I refuse to die in a place like this!" Simon said. Scarlet had no reason to be with them other than to make them hear her out.
Then, Erron releases Delphine from his grasp and walks over to Simon to see how and why they look exactly like each other. Delphine started kneeling on the ground and covered her breasts after feeling how hard Erron groped them.
"You're a hard man to impress," Erron said.
"Why're you following us, dirtbag?!" Simon shouted.
"I have known of your capabilities. Scarlet and I waited for someone of your talent to come here and journey forth across the mountains."
"I'm going to tear off your fingers one by one. After that, I'm going to give you so many scars until my arms grow weary!"
"Aw, now what would you wanna go and do that for?"
"So, I can shove them down your throat. We'll see how well you enjoy it after you've fondled my friend with your filthy hands."
"Simon, that's enough," Delphine said. She then gets up and slowly walked towards him to calm him down, and even she had some words to say to Erron and Scarlet.
In her nature, Delphine would not allow them to leave alive; she would hunt them down until the end of her days.
"You're going to tell us everything you know. And I will have answers, or else my sword shall cut you in two!" Delphine said.
Then, Scarlet answered and said to her, "I told you already. We are everywhere and nowhere. We serve nobody but the Demon Wolf. He is the king of Midland and shall be the king of this world! Trying to fight back against him will be your downfall. The moment the two of you chose to be demon hunters, you have already sealed your fate!"
Then, Erron walked up to Delphine and Simon and spoke to them, saying, "Your time of bowing to the one true king will soon come. All the people of this cursed earth will pay honor and tribute to Mephiles. Soon, your souls will be ripe for the taking, and you will all be down on your knees and serve the king who will take the world and give it a new beginning or all humanity! You cannot stop what will soon be upon you."
Before Erron and Scarlet could say anything else, Delphine lifts her greatsword and runs towards one of them. She had her greatsword in the air to make only one of them leave and the other one to be met with her hate against the night creatures. It was then that she uses her blade and swings it down; none of them were affected by it, but they both jumped backward and made another jump into the fog. Delphine and Simon could no longer see those two copycats before them, but they had to keep walking and not stop. They both had to let everything that just happened vanish away, and they were still holding onto their swords while walking.
Erron and Scarlet were very close in doing something that would likely affect the rest of the way for Delphine and Simon. Simon was feeling very worried about Delphine and wondered if she can make it all of the way to the mountain's entrance. He did not want to shock her with such a question that he would ask her during the night. Delphine was slowly getting better after being grabbed on and touched by someone she did not even know. Simon then moves closer to her and just needed to let out the question; he reminded himself to trust nobody around him.
"Delphine, are you alright? You seem troubled," Simon said.
"I'm fine, Simon. Relax, I've been through worse," Delphine said.
"Did you see how they moved? They're not human. And I know for a fact that they must have put something in you," he said.
"We've been walking for a few minutes, and those two have not been in sight. They're not coming back to bother us."
"I sure hope so. I don't want to waste my whole night just hearing those voices."
"Just stick with me. If you do that, then maybe they won't come here for us to hear their petty remarks."
Delphine did not have that much to say to Simon as they continued walking on the long road. Both of them had the strength and ability to walk past the cold and be able to survive such encounters.
"Yeah, I'm still kinda wondering this. But, how is it that you will know about something when you didn't even answer it."
"Well, it depends on how easy the questions are. If the question takes more than two hours to answer, then I won't answer it."
"Very well. I guess I talk too much. Hopefully, you and I are awake for what's to come."
"Simon, get ready. I sense another presence!"
Then, they both held onto their weapons and started to hear quite a several demons who would want to stop them where they stand. Delphine could see the outside of the mist, and she knew that she had to walk as fast as possible towards the exit. Simon walked quickly along with her and proceeded to listen to a bunch of shrieking and chanting. Suddenly, a fast-moving creature speeds up to them with his sword in the air; Delphine and Simon were prepared for any of them to fight the demon. They saw him move very quickly, unlike most of the beasts they will be facing a few hours later.
Then, Delphine uses her greatsword and stabs the demon in the heart, and she starts slashing him until so much blood and gore begin staining the mountain. Delphine runs along with Simon as they both held hands not to lose each other; she did not want to leave him to suffer along with her enemies.
