I arrived at the airport, suitcase in hand. I went to the bathroom to...well you can guess what. I looked in the dirty, public washroom mirror. My black hair pulled back in a ponytail looked messy and scruffy. The baby hairs had come out and were sticking out all over the place. My tired gray-blue eyes hid under my eyelashes. I put the hood of my hoodie up over my head to hide what lay under it. I let out a loud sigh. I was about to leave when I saw the reflection of a women in the mirror. She had beautiful dark skin with a tiny splash of frekles on her small nose. Her hair was braided in to tight cornrows and dipped dyed red. Her clothes fit her beautifully. Her light wash ripped jeans showed the fish net tights that clunged to her legs. Her designer top was cropped to show her perfectly toned middle. The last thing I saw was her sharp green eyes that were so intense. Now, I am very much a straight woman but this goddess of a human just walked in to this swamp of a washroom. Her eyes met mine in the mirror.
'You gonna wash your hands or just stare into space?' she said in a cool tone. She had a clear American accent.
'Ha...sorry I just zoned out for a second' I said. One of her eyebrows raised at me. Still looking at each other through the mirror. I smiled at her and she just kept staring at me. It was probably like 10 seconds but it felt like an eternity. Suddenly the loud speaker in the washroom announced that my flight was now boarding.
'Well uhh...thats me.' I said quickly before getting the hell out of there. I sat on the plane shoved the ear plugs in my ears and played my music. Unfortunately, no prince charming came to sit next me and no whole romance started like in the movies. The row was empty which was the next best thing I guess. Nothing much happened on the plane it was kinda boring but the chocolate muffin in the meal was great.
The plane landed and as soon as stepped out of the plane. There was an definite change in the temperature to England which I was predicting. I was in California after all. I gathered my things and got to the taxi pick up or should I say a cab now I'm in America. My new apartment was an hour and a half away. I paid the driver and stood in front of the building, it was gorgeous. I had worked so hard for this and now, I finally have it.
