Chapter 17 - Red Haired Demon Conclusion and Present

In a bright flash of light moments after Julie drew her sword, the crimson shade of red pulsed as if the air breathed it.

Something monstrous appeared behind Harriet, its ribcage sheltering the female. Its bony finger was reached out to the apex of the five hundred slashes, flicking it like a piece of paper. The flick blew out the clouds in the sky, sending an intensely rippling multitiude of airwaves that removed the bloody filter of the arena. Everything was destroyed by a single flick of this monstrous entity that intruded the far from sacred fight. The arena was reformed again, but this time it was by Ancestra's demonic blood rebuilding and reconnecting all the rocks and soil together. Her blood was scattered across every nook and cranny inside the arena after all.

"Whew! Okay, that's amazing progress from you two!" Harriet breathed a relieved sigh, clapping her hands.

"Oh my fucking Ophelia… It's done…" Ancestra's legs collapsed and she laid on the ground face first. All the blood dyeing the soil red returned to her arm before it wrapped itself with its bandages back into its normal state.

"Is it…? Oh fuck…" Julie had the same reaction as her friend, collapsing on her knees and backward. They were both incredibly exhausted, as one would expect.

"Both of you did incredibly well! Julie even forced Hades to join in on the fun~" Harriet giggled, stroking one of the sheltering giant skeleton's ribs and then smacked it so hard that it came off.

"Agh! Ya little rascal. I's waitin' fer ya te say "Parry this, you filthy casual!" 'ith me guitar, and it neva came! Ya had me fuckin worried!" The large, red skeleton with glowing red eyes bellowed at the female, who giggled in response.

"Of course I was going to parry it, Hades! You expect me to just take it like a man? I'm an incredibly beautiful bitch, might I tell you." Harriet snorted at the skeleton, hammering his ribcage one rib at a time.

"Agh, fuck! Ight, ight, stop! Tha's all I came 'ere fer. Ya two kids, ya did well! Take it from 'adenvil, the Demon King of Rock. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!" The old-sounding raspy-voiced skeleton had then disappeared in a red mist in a few seconds, screaming in real gleam metal fashion as he disappeared.

Harriet looked at the two girls who experienced life and death earlier with a sense of accomplishment. Something inside her knocked softly, and in a puff of pink smoke, something had happened before she had taken the girls to the infirmary of the academy, which looked like a grand hospital in the inside.

The two girls slept for a whole day. During that time, Harriet dumped them into her portal that connects back to Ancestra's room. By Harriet's explanation, she searched within the girl's memory where her current home was, and simply made a teleporter via her swirly blood portal.

"…And that folks, is how I met your dad." Ancestra leans back, putting her arms behind her head with a satisfied, triumphant smirk on her usually calm face.

"…what?" Inertia, a blonde haired red-eyed angel with black wings and black ornate armor had asked.

"Pray tell someone explain to me where in that span is the transition from her fighting a life threatening battle as a training to meeting Sora." Impresa, a graceful black haired and also black winged angel had asked, massaging the bridge of her nose.

"After that, basically Sora fuckin' found us and basically roped us into his shenanigans. Which meant everything that fuckin' happened back in the Guild Senida." Elspeth sighed, laying back down on her sleeping cot.

"What do you mean "rope us in?" I was only put there in by Harriet, dude. You were the one who stayed there and acted like his wife or something." Ancestra scoffed.

"He doesn't even fuckin' eat right! He's just chugging down fuckin' beer every chance he gets then acts like our leader when we're in trouble when we can clearly take care of our fuckin' selves!" Elspeth exclaimed in annoyance. She clicked her tongue afterward. There was no spite in her voice, only care.

"I agree… Yet we can't find it in ourselves to genuinely hate him. When he had invited me to a drink one night, I got to know him a little better. He reminded me of Galatea, but… my worse fears had been realized." Impresa closed her eyes with a solemn expression.

"Come on guys! All that doesn't change the fact that we all love him, right?" Inertia, the only one unaffected by the atmosphere, spoke of something that they all immediately shifted their attention to.

"You are not wrong, Inertia." Impresa sighed softly.

"Yeah. Ya ain't fuckin' wrong." Elspeth scoffed with a wry smile.

"I agree." Ancestra closed her eyes with an affectionate smile.

"Yeah, yeah! That's it! Now where is he?" The little blonde seraphim had then asked.

"He's taking post with Genesis, as they've always been every night we spend out." Ancestra replied.

"Those two… At the very least we let them rest whenever they can during the day time." Impresa looked up at the starry sky. They were currently camping in a small divot inside of the Astral Plains, a portion of land that is coated in the everlasting night. It portrays a vast galaxy of stars in the skies due to it being a mana spot for the gods in the past.

"We should probably sleep. Good night, girls. Thanks for listening." Ancestra tucked herself in with a soft sigh.

"May Ophelia protect us." Impresa bowed to everyone before leaning back and closing her eyes.

"She's a pervert! Good night guys!" Inertia enthusiastically tucked herself in.

Elspeth waited for the three girls to fall asleep before extinguishing their campfire, then went to sleep.
