As the heavy door opened a small wave of mana gushed out of the room, as if trying to escape the room.
"Hmm?" Mazak said aloud to indicate his question in what happened.
"The room has been sealed since the lord was found lifeless in here, the mana that gushed out was the excess power from the mana stones to supply the barrier between the room and the outside" the superior answered in detail after a short cough and as they entered into the room.
Mazak understood the rules of both mana and the barriers, however he didn't suspect they'd use a special barrier to keep the room entirely isolated from the outside world, however it also should've been expected for this to happen after such an event.
"Right.. let's get this going" Mazak said to himself, "Can you wait outside? I'll call you in when I'm done" He told the superior.
"How long will you need? The crystals need to be replaced every half a dozen hours and these need to be replaced in a couple hours" the superior informed Mazak.
"I will be finished in around an hour to two, so i'll be done by the time the crystals need to be replaced" Mazak answered.
"Very well, however if you're done or not within a couple hours I'm coming in to replace the crystals" the superior warned.
"Ok then, shoo" Mazak said in his head whilst gesturing him to leave the room.
The superior finally left after leaving a glance at the room and Mazak.
SLAM..
The door heavily shut and the barrier smothered the door and every hole and gap that could or could not be seen.
"what did you do this time?" Mazak sighed as he walked over to the lords dead body whilst carefully summoning and commanding his complete resurrection spell onto the body.
After a few moments of the spell entering the body and repairing what was once injured or destroyed, Mazak found a problem. The lords soul was severely injured as well.
Mazaks mood turned sour because only a few types of weapons, skills and certain people have the ability to damage and/or destroy souls however the good thing is that the lords soul wasn't destroyed so the repair can be made.
"Soul of the lifeless" Mazak casted in his head. This spell, once casted onto a singular subject can repair the soul perfectly without any chance of failure at the expense of a portion of the summoners health (around 1% which regenerates very quickly) and the more subjects, the more health expended for a short period of time and the higher chance of failure.
After the spell was cast a white orb with a golden hue left Mazaks' body and hovered at Mazaks' heart height, after choosing the subject, the orb slowly descended onto the cold and lifeless body of the lord.
A few minutes passed in a blink and the lord finally started changing. The lords body was finally warming up and the lord was slowly breathing. After another half a dozen minutes the lord eventually managed to gather the strength to open his closed eyelids.
The sight he saw was blood drenching the entirety of the floor as far as he could see, for a few moments the lord blanked out and recovered after trying to ingest what he was seeing.
Mazak walked over to the area to which the lord is able to see and sat down in the partially dried blood, "yo! Welcome back, it seems someone doesn't like you" Mazak gently teased.
The lords eyes revealed a shocked expression for a short while whilst he was also figuring out what Mazak meant.
"Gha... hhu..." the lord tried to talk however he couldn't as his body was still under the repair of the soul repairing spell and the resurrection spell.
"Hey hey hey, take it easy, we've got two hours before the guard out there comes in, you'll be in perfect condition in around half an hour now, just try to rest and recover and recall what you last saw and did" Mazak insisted whilst carefully picking up the lord and gently placing him on the bed, then propping him up with pillows to support him.
Mazak started looking around the room whilst he left the lord to rest.
After around 20 minutes the lord collected himself and spoke, "It was a traitor." His voice was very rough, heavy and even croaky.
This startled Mazak however he soon replied, "who was it?"
"A new young commander in the army, he was a promising one as-well but he was already bribed off by the Calibrica empire. I found out and Calibrica assassins took my life. I assume that the commander is already gone." The lord explained to Mazak what he recollected in his memory.
"With the intelligence you gave me about all the commanders the empire previously had, I did not see any new faced commander, every commander I saw was an old and remembered face."
"I'll tell the commanders that they're old" the lord joked and chuckled, "But seriously, this isn't good news for Trawcray, from now on strict military checks on personnel will be carried out regularly inside and around Kraz City. That includes any military personnel with soldiers in their command, nobles and barons and other land owners and even criminals and civilians." The lord immediately went silent after stating this declaration to recover some of his energy.
"Are you suggesting martial law? That will take some time to get used to, many people may leave and find this new rule rather.. aggressive to implement so suddenly. After all this city was once a very peaceful city with only an average force to maintain its standing but now this will mean the city will become an armed and even a slightly aggressive city, do you mind that?" Mazaks asked in a questioning tone, because the lord may not be thinking straight.
Before the lord could answer Mazaks question, Mazak swiftly and decisively shot a spell towards the lord. Light of truth, this spell comes in the form of an arrow which does not harm the target but removes any controlling spells and techniques over the subjects mind. This spell has practically no drawbacks apart from the minute cooldown however that's a simple drawback and it is also the strongest spell on the mind (to remove spells and any mind controlling techniques anyway).
After the arrow entered the lord, a small shimmer glowed in the lords eyes which means that nothing had control of the lord.
"Sorry, it was just a precaution but do answer my question if you do want the city to become armed" Mazak apologised for shooting a spell at the lord and carried the conversation on.
"Yes I do. I can already feel the flames of war flying high. It's best to train and recruit more forces that swear their allegiance to Trawcray, and to punish that traitor." The lord finished speaking.
