Chapter 10 - The last inhabitants of the cottage

After mazak had finished looting the room of all its armour and equipment, Mazak had started to wonder around the rest of the cottage to see if there was anything here of use to him.

Mazak was out of luck as in looking around the cottage for items however he did find many useful magic books which after reading them he gained 2 new skills and some of his original skills had been levelled up and the rest of the books left were just useful knowledge which he didn't know so as he would, he would sit around and read them as he had nothing to do and he doubts anyone will find him.

A few hours later Mazak was wasted after reading all those books and fell asleep as he had his bear companion outside laying next to the dragon egg to keep it warm and protected.

It had been almost 3 months since Mazak had found knowledge about the world he didn't know including knowledge about forgotten treasures.

Daybreak has arrived and everything in the cottage was lit up in a nice warm yellow colour, before Mazak woke he was blinded by the sun as he was facing the east window, Mazak was grumpy but also relieved from taking a nap as he was going to investigate the last room he saw in the still image.

It took Mazak a few minutes to get up and head to the last door he has to open and search, as he got to the door saw a key hiding in a small but strong barrier which he destroyed instantly, he picked up the key and placed it in the lock and lots of large steel locks as well as a magic barrier inside the room had been unlocked.

Mazak opened the door to find a room designated for a final resting place for all of the cottage inhabitants, Mazak bowed his head in respect. He managed to follow a small corridor leading him to a room deep underground. Mazak found a small room filled with treasure and upon the treasure heap there was a book called

'Dragon Almanac'. After picking it up he instantly noticed that the system was scanning and copying everything in the book.

The book had knowledge of hatching a dragon to befriending a dragon, which helped his current situation immensely. After the book had been read he placed the book back down and looked around the treasure heap, nothing was interesting here as he needed no more money nor jewels.

Once Mazak finished searching the room he left and locked the door as he was planning to leave the cottage and go hunting. As Mazak left the cottage he remembered he avoided a shiny object in the middle of the lake, before Mazak went to investigate the object, Mazak saw that his dagger of light was glowing and the object in the river was moving around as if it were a fish being chased.

Mazak scanned the river to his relief no dangerous creatures were in the river before he jumped in, he did not know what the object was but it was moving at high speeds, when it suddenly stopped and started rushing towards Mazak. Before he could react the object had hit him, bounced off and then conjoined itself with his dagger of light.

As he was examining the object underwater the system notified him that the water in this river was disrupting the object, which made it zoom around underwater and charge at Mazak, so he quickly got out of the river and re-examined it. The object seemed to be able to change its properties of the dagger to a sword if the requirements were met.
