Kenshin had still been sleeping when the new day was ushered in. It was a rarity to have slept as peacefully as he had. Being the god of war, the dragon of Echigo, it was best to sleep lightly in case an enemy tried an assassination attempt. Here he did not feel so on edge, except with Shingen in a nearby room.
Yoshimoto, had awaken with a pounding headache. His wife was not by his side. The amount of alcohol he consumed was the cause of his memory being fuzzy and his head feeling as if a beaver was using a chainsaw. It wasn't a pleasant sight. He stumbled out of the bed in search of the kitchen. A glass of water would help ease the pounding in his brain. His eyes were closed when he walked into his living room. The muffled sounds of moaning seemed as if it was coming from his imagination. He paid no attention to it. Once he was had his glass of water in his hand, he was taking a drink when his eyes roamed over to see his wife straddling an unknown man. The glass slipped from his hand crashing to the floor. His mouth was trembling as the two stopped what they were doing and looked at him. It was Shingen. The anger that he had felt bubbled up inside him. He couldn't stop what he was doing when he grabbed for the kitchen knife.
Just then Kenshin had came out of the room to see Yoshimoto storming towards to figures on the long dais. Sleep was still in his eyes when he grabbed Yoshimoto's wrist pulling him into his arms.
"If you plan on fighting a samurai with a kitchen knife you would be better off committing seppuku."
That sentence alone was enough to cool his ire. Kenshin then went up to Shingen. The woman didn't realize what was happening when he pulled her off of Shingen and pushed her to her husband. Shin gen didn't have time to react when he felt the hard thud against his cheek. Kenshin had punched him. He was going in for another one when Shingen stopped him with the palm of his hand.
"What the devils are you hitting me for?"
"You besmirched another man's wife. One I may add who is giving us shelter during this time of confusion. Must you always think with you penis?"
"She came on to me!"
"Even if the little harlot climbed into bed with you and pushed your cock inside of her womb you still should have pushed her off of you."
He knew there was no excuse but Shingen still felt the need to address it, "She felt great. It was warm and tight." He looked over to Yoshimoto when he now spoke. "You would do well to have her in your bed every night she is a wild woman."
That unnecessary statement from him brought Kenshin to punch him with his other fist. "You are stupid." He hauled a naked Shingen up and pulled him into the bedroom he had just emerged from leaving Yoshimoto and Erin to squabble.
Yoshimoto was angry, and she could see it. Instead of repenting she pushed the incident on to him. "If you had been attending to my needs more often I wouldn't have slept with him."
"You're blaming me? No one told you to go and fuck another man in our home."
"Well he was sexy and tall and I knew he would have a massive cock so I wanted him."
Yoshimoto looked at her and scoffed, "You are a real piece of work. Instead of being a responsible woman you push the blame on to me and will not admit your faults."
"Why should I admit I was in the wrong? A person doesn't cheat unless they feel unloved."
He tilted his head when she made that declaration. A person doesn't cheat unless they are unloved. He had no idea where she got that logic from but the wheels in his head began to turn. "You've done this before haven't you?"
"Tsk. Well yes. I have. They make me feel wanted and the sex is good. No better than good. It's great."
Yoshimoto could only nod his head in disbelief. He was warned about her but didn't pay any attention to the warning signs. All the red flags were there he just ignored them. "I see. Well then how about you just get out of my home and go to one of your 'oh so great' sex partners. I'm sure they will put up with you." He then grabbed her wrist, dragging her to the door, cast her out of their home naked. The locks were then bolted so she couldn't come back in.
Meanwhile, Kenshin and Shingen had been in a different battle. Kenshin had unleashed Himetsuru-Ichimonji. He was posed to strike when the door opened to reveal Yoshimoto standing there in awe. The glimmer of his blade was the only thing the all saw before it was sheathed back in its case. Instead, Kenshin resorted to punching Shingen in the stomach.
"There was no need for you to hurt him. Erin was in fact just wrong for me. I should thank you for showing me that's the type of woman she is."
Kenshin tilted his head as if Yoshimoto turned into a dragon right before his very eyes. "Do not give him a chance to wiggle out of this. Even if she was a file, disgusting, trollop. She was off limits."
"I do apologize, I was sleeping when I felt something warm and well I didn't get much sleep after that."
Kenshin whirled around and kicked him in the gut. "Stupid."
"It seems you are more angry about what happen than our little Yoshi is. Could you be jealous?"
"NO!" He kicked him once again. This time Shingen caught his ankle and begin to pull him closer. Each time his hand moving further up Kenshin's leg. Panic was taking over his brain when he twisted around and broke free. "I told you about touching me so familiarly. You still contributed to the downfall of a marriage. Marriage should be respected from both parties and outsiders. You were an outsider."
Yoshimoto understood what Kenshin was saying. Shingen stopped joking long enough to bow before them both. "I offer my sincerest apologies. I allowed my passion to cloud my judgement. Please do not look unfavorable upon me." It was the first time that Shingen had lowered himself to another person before. Knowing that fact Yoshimoto could only smile.
"Please raise your head. It wasn't entirely your fault. So, what do you say we get out of here and I show you around the city? It is quite different from whence you came from."~
