The three men looked at each other and smiled. Yoshimoto realized they would need to go to a store to get them clothing of their own. "We'll need to make a stop at the store. I don't think I have enough clothing for three men."
"We can just wear what we had on yesterday."
"Kenshin we can't put the same clothes back on today. They smell."
"It would help him with his clothing load. Why am I having this conversation with you?"
"You like the verbal sparring just as you like when we physically spar."
"You couldn't be so far away from the truth. Fine Yoshimoto then we can do as you like but we will repay you somehow."
Yoshimoto raised his hands waving them off, "It's no problem. I'll save money now that she is out of my life."
"That is a good way to look at it. Shall we head to the place that has the clothes you want us to wear?"
The three men left the apartment after changing into their clothing. Yoshimoto took them to a big department store. It had a computer- generated dressing room. They snapped an image of the person. All you needed was to input the style of clothing you wanted. Shingen was smiling happily when he saw himself dressed dashing in a suit. The more he seen of himself in the modern clothing the more he liked it better here. The thought of going back home was becoming a distant notion.
Kenshin was next, the more he seen of himself in the gaudy clothing the more his expression turned sour. Shingen had an idea. He thought just maybe Kenshin would like the more feminine clothing. He had Yoshimoto adjust the style. Once Kenshin came across on the screen with Feminine clothing his eyebrow raised. Seeing himself in the clothing made his jaw drop. It was odd seeing himself with a bag, short pants and a revealing top. The more he looked at it the more he liked it. "I like this."
Shingen snickered as Kenshin wanted that outfit. He couldn't help himself from draping his arm over his shorter friends shoulders and whispering seductively in his ear. "I knew you would look better in clothes like these. You have the right body to pull it off." His hand caressed Kenshin's cheek. " If you leave the store like this many other men will try to seduce you. Make sure you tell them you already have someone."
Kenshin looked at him then pushed him away. "I will not say that. I am a man and I do not care what other men see. You should stop harassing me. I would never fall for such a flippant man like you anyway."
"Oh, you flatter me. I only say these things to you."
He reached for his sword at his hip only to touch his body. He glared at Shingen. "Yoshimoto, I want something else. But I still like that outfit." His cheeks tinged pink.
Yoshimoto looked at him baffled. Kenshin wasn't aware that their society didn't care about what a person wore or identified as. Part of him wanted to tell him but the other part of him wanted to make sure that Kenshin was comfortable. He still believed that just maybe Kenshin was in fact a woman.
The men came out of the store with bags full of clothes. Kenshin was wearing the attire that Shingen had chosen for him. Shingen was wearing a pleather biker jacket, jeans and a t-shirt. It made him feel as if Kenshin did value his opinion. Their rivalry was something special between them.
Yoshimoto wanted to go back home so they could drop off their things but instead took them to a restaurant to have lunch. Everyone was gawking at them. The two men stood out no matter what they were wearing. Women kept coming up to their table to try and talk with them. Eventually Kenshin got angry, he slammed his fist on the table and glared at the women. "If you have the time to gawk at us then maybe you should pay for the meal you are subsequently ruining." That kept the women from coming back to their table disturbing them.
They finally got a moment of peace until men started coming up to the table trying to speak with Kenshin. It got to the point Kenshin was so angry he got up and left. That wasn't a good idea due to men and women cat calling him. Shingen along with Yoshimoto chased after him with bags in hand. It wasn't long before they found him encircled by a group of men. Some held out cards for him to take. It looked as if he was being scouted to Yoshimoto. He took that chance to step in and shield Kenshin.
"We regret to inform you but he is not interested."
They all collectively groaned at the refusal. Kenshin looked sullen as he was the center of attention. It was nice to have been approached by them, yet he did not know what they were discussing with him.
"Come let's go home to drop of the bags then I can take you both somewhere fun. I've always wanted to go but Erin said it was childish."
The two men looked at him confused. Neither understood what could be deemed childish that Yoshimoto suggested. The reached the apartment they were becoming familiar with when Erin came running up to them with a tear stained face. She quickly latched on to Shingen as she tried to plead her case. Just that sight in front of Yoshimoto showed him that he no longer needed her in his life.
"Yoshi, please. You cant just kick me out of our home. We've been married for 4 years."
"You plead with me but yet you are clinging to another man. Find someone else to attach yourself too. I will be contacting the judge so that you can be dealt with."
"But.." Just as she was trying to speak Shingen pulled her away from him as they shut the door. It looked as if Yoshimoto was relieved, having stated his rejection of her.
"So let's be on our way. I want to take you to the amusement park. I guarantee you will like it an want to stay longer."
